Pulp fiction is one of those movies that you can have on loop all day long and still have it catch your attention..... you could even chop it up by each scene, rearrange them, and still have pretty much the same movie with about as much existing context
Yes indeed, Samuel Jackson know he played his role in the movie 🍿: pulp fiction back in 1994.😅. But I also like his movie in Shaft 😅 too. He just a great actor in all his movies. I have some of his movies on 📀.
A lovely subversion of the Nice Guy / Mean Guy trope. Jules comes in acting all friendly, the Nice Guy, while Vincent broods silently in the background. Everyone, audience included, is bracing themselves for Vincent to start being the Mean Guy. Then Jules fires his first shot, and we all realise that Jules is the Mean Guy too.
I would argue that he shows his mean side as soon as he turns to Flock of Seagulls and asks him where he hid the sh-t while he reveals his gun to let him know that playtime is over lol
So that’s the secret Formula for creating a terrifying villain protagonist. It’s interesting because audiences typically rally against these types characters. After all, they are villains and the status quo is usually that they remain side characters in the story, but in this movie they are the main protagonist. And the crazy thing is that the film actually gets you to care about them and even root for Jule’s redemption even though he’s shown to be stone cold evil in the first act of the movie. So talk about a total subversion of expectations.
Samuel L. Jackson should be arrested for stealing this entire scene. One of the most memorable scenes in the whole movie and certainly the most iconic one
