I adore this channel and this series. It reignites that classic love of Star Wars I thought had been lost. Over analysis and tons of small details in everything, thank you.
Regarding the repulsor vs legs question, the two things that immediately come to mind for me are maintenance and emission control. The Millenium Falcon and various rebel fighters are operated irregularly, in a highly mixed fleet and without significant and reliable support infrastructure. They'd want to reduce the wear on any component to the greatest degree possible, including the repulsorlifts. No matter how reliable the repulsorlifts themselves are, they need to be drawing power from somewhere and that means there's additional maintenance hours being accrued. The Naboo Starfighter is, in a sense, a prestige piece operated by a largely peaceful and wealthy planet, with a largely ceremonial military and no known experience with projecting power over large distances. Most of their ships appear to share a design lineage and likely have high part commonality. It seems to follow that they'd naturally have less experience with and less of a focus on minimizing maintenance costs. Therefore, even if they have landing legs, why would we expect it to actually be in their SOP (assuming they even have one) to use them? Given how wet and swampy Naboo is, we might even expect the opposite. A repulsorlift doesn't care if you happen to park in the swamp, but mistaking the ground underneath you (very easy given the lack of visibility below the N1), could easily lead to the N1 emulating Luke's X-wing and needing a crane and a whole lot of scrubbing to get back in service. The other concern I'd imagine is emissions control, the N1 is operating in peacetime and doesn't necessarily need to worry about leaking radiation. The Rebels would naturally want to reduce their emissions to the greatest degree possible (along with power consumption generally) in order to avoid detection.
I suspect the actual reason is that they forgot to toggle that part of the model (given how hectic the BTS of the film was) and didn't think it mattered enough to do additional render passes.
That landing pad explosion gag should have gotten old after the third time but instead continued to be funnier the longer it went on. Another brilliant video and can't wait for part 2.
Officers in militaries around the world sometimes purchase their own side arms instead of using the standard military issue weapons It depends on the military and how strict they are if they’ll allow this. The US Army usually won’t allow officers to carry their own side arms but the Air Force does allow its pilots to take whatever they’d like as their side arm in case they have to ditch. I suspect Naboo’s voluntary security forces would be just fine with Typho buying his own special made side arm. He probably had it made to what he likes/what he could afford
Historically speaking it wasn't uncommon for officers of many countries' militaries to not only purchase their sidearms, but to be responsible for purchasing their entire uniform and kit in the case of some nations like the British Empire

I love how you can analyze every single aspect of these movies in excruciating detail. You've put into words my thoughts on why the prequel films feel alive in a way the Disney sequels just aren't.
I don't think there is anything wrong with any of Lucas' six movies. They each have something unique and worthy to offer. Episode 2 is just as vital to the saga as any other part.
Before Disney I considered it the weakest of the six movies. But it still brought a lot to the EU and has plenty of fun things about it. So there’s nothing wrong with it being your favorite.
I think that if Anakin and Padme's dialogue was compelling and the movie had a touch more visual contrast (even for 2002 it looked a teensy bit washed out), many more people would consider this their favourite Star Wars movie. There's just so much absolutely top tier stuff crammed into it.
No-prize headcanon time: Coruscant used to have space elevators. Then the rest of the urban infrastructure grew up to the same height as the elevators. The actual planet is far smaller than the thousands of years of buildings stacked on top of each other.

I'm glad you're covering the differences in the novelization, I don't remember if you did for Episode 1 but maybe it wasn't as drastic as this one. I knew the novelization included deleted scenes and was based on an earlier copy of the script but it's fascinating to see big & small changes in scenes like the chase sequence or when the Jedi interrogate Zam. Anakin using an aggressive form of the Mind Trick when he yells makes so much more sense for why she starts talking about Jango. I imagine part of the reason this series of videos will take a while is because of the fancy editing like the color overlays on the book images or the 3D models of the weapons & vehicles. Personally I think the effort is worth it, adds some nice visuals for when you're not using video clips.
@@ldmb1966 That's the core and only needed reason why the prequels have worth: they were made with true storytelling intention. in simple words, they tried. The sequels fatal issue is its lack of that intention. The intention was simply to sell product. The prequels sold product too, oh a hell a lot of it, but that was secondary.
2:49:03 It's definitely American football. The rightmost wheel-droid is holding the football in it's right arm, it's acting as the QB back to pass, there's a little bit of running downfield, some blocking, but then the QB-droid holds on too the ball too long and get sacked. The lines on the field make no sense but w/e
I just wanted to bring up that the centipedes flying across the room doesn't necessarily imply that lightsabers impart force, as many insects/arachnids are prone to erratic/spastic movements when their integrity is compromised. Depending on how their bodies function, their flying across the room could be explained by expulsion of gasses after being cut in half, or like when a spider curls up after death.
I read the word “brief” then saw that the video is longer than the movie it covers. So I chuckled-then stopped once I realized that this is “Part One” 👀
The only thing better than being randomly recommended this video is finding out that you've already done one of these for Episode 1! If this is the kind of content you create, consider me a viewer for life.
imo the reason that the naboo starfighter has landing gear, but rarely uses them, is because the astromech is accessed from the bottom, so most of the time when it wants to land it needs a lot of room underneath it, and making landing gear big enough for that would be unreasonable for such a small vehicle. however it still has landing gear for short landings or emergency landings where you just need to be able to land on any surface available and removing the astromech isn't your biggest concern.
To put it another way, the designers for the movie wasted no thoughts on logistics, only aesthetics. The droid doesn't fit, the lift doesn't fit vertically, and landing legs are not shown in any movie.
@@Marci124 yea im sure the "rule of cool" was the focus in most situations lmao. but imo it at least kinda makes sense here, the landing gear are something used in an emergency, whereas normally the ship would be docked in some sort of cradle or dock, where it has plenty of room underneath, where the droid remains accessible. it both looks cool, and makes sense imo.
Very underrated channel. It’s not for someone with the patience of a Gen Z era kid who just found caffeine. But if you can take a moment to slow down listen(and look, the clips are edited in a lovely manner) at the criticism and applause presented in the video than you are in for a treat.

I’d like to think the Quasar (Fire) class carriers from Rebels are the militarized version of the more common cargo ship the Rebels modified into the Flurry. The rebels knew they could modify the cargo ships to serve the same purpose as the imperial military ship since the two distinct classes were similar enough in general layout. That way canon is preserved!

Is it weird I’m excited for the ungodly long Star Wars analysis
everyday I'm more and more convinced that Disney ripped up the source material and used it as toilet paper and blunt wraps.
The people who made the sequels obviously didn’t love Star Wars or even like it. They shat all over it. Not even canon in my book.
I truly adore the dry wit in these. I laugh harder at these serious analysis videos than I do at most parodies.
The Bread Circus returns!!!
A surprise for sure, but a welcome one. 💪😎
So surprised and delighted every time a video uses Act on Instinct
2:49:03 It's definitely American football. The rightmost wheel-droid is holding the football in it's right arm, it's acting as the QB back to pass, there's a little bit of running downfield, some blocking, but then the QB-droid holds on too the ball too long and get sacked. The lines on the field make no sense but w/e
I've been leaving your 12 hour video on loop for sleep. Two weeks later and I now know everything about Star Wars without even thinking.
"It's OK, I also dream of your mother" 🤣👍
Loved the Membership Early Access videos. Looking forward to watching the entire first short part with all the extras!
Wonderful timing to upload during my graveyard shift.
1:13:13 "When I look at you, I still see a slave child" WTFFF You can't just drop a line as nasty like that so casually. I love you
The quick cut of Tim Pool's hat rip with the Yoda laugh will single handedly help me get through the next 4 years
Oh yes!! The analyst of analysts is back for episode 2. There are still things in life to look forward to 😌
So you're back with another Very Brief Analysis? Good! This should only take a moment.
The only thing better than being randomly recommended this video is finding out that you've already done one of these for Episode 1! If this is the kind of content you create, consider me a viewer for life.
All of those details ❤
Who knew there is plausible argument of what planet and which podracers are on cantina tv on one scene
The tragedy of WEST END GAMES losing the STAR WARS license, terrible. Seeing WEST END GAMES material here brings warm feelings to my heart.
And when the world needed him most... he RETURNED.
Welcome back, King.
the sleazebagonno bit is intentional parody of anti-smoking propaganda, not naive propaganda, although I suppose that's Poe's law
I love the Coruscant bar scene, lots of bread and circuses going on there, buddy. I like seeing all the aliens betting on the sportsball.
imo the reason that the naboo starfighter has landing gear, but rarely uses them, is because the astromech is accessed from the bottom, so most of the time when it wants to land it needs a lot of room underneath it, and making landing gear big enough for that would be unreasonable for such a small vehicle. however it still has landing gear for short landings or emergency landings where you just need to be able to land on any surface available and removing the astromech isn't your biggest concern.
There goes this work day, with a thunderous applause
I absolutely love these long videos on this channel. I watch to go to sleep each night! Can’t wait for part 2
Just got my wisdom teeth out, timing could not be better on this. Thank you!
Gratz m8, you are now one step closer to God (I'm don't see how anyone except Satan would put these things in our mouths)
I take it that it was a lucky extraction?
While I’m excited to see the follow up to TPM video, I’m pretty underwhelmed at only 4 hours of content. You couldn’t finish the entire trilogy quickly enough?
/s
Thank you for this insane effort. It’s beautiful
As a young boy I had a gigantic crush on Natalie Portman
hey that’s my wife man get your own queen/senator
I miss the weekend drops, but I am happy to be back!
Instant like. Ive been checking your channel every other day since Episode 1 came out. Im BIG on long form content and this is hands down the best ever. Thanks!
I can finally eat lunch now that I have something to watch

“I regret to inform you, Disney found out about this […]”
“They seem to have completely misunderstood […]”
Many many MANY such cases.
Holy moly i missed this, over the course of the week ill slowly chip down at this video and always have something to watch during dinner or boring activities
Another fascinating, high effort video. Your passion for the material is infectious.
The debate on the logistics of space travel is really why I constantly come back.
I noticed that you mention in the casino scene when talking about the nuna-ball droid game, that there is no ball in sight (2:49:08) although I see a Nuna-looking creature getting thrown to the right-most droid at 2:49:04, which then walks away after the droid gets tackled.
