I remember many years ago seeing a comercial for this and on that comercial this exact dance number was featured for only a few seconds. I remember that the music and the dancing entranced me so much I had to stop whatever it was I was doing just to watch the commercial. Now that I've found it here, I see my memories do not do this scene justice. This is just too beautiful. Thank you for posting this.
Beautifull. Saw Riverdance several times in the Netherlands; last time in december 2009(amsterdam).Still an amazing performance. However, the last time was almost the same as the other show I saw. But still ok.
The recording I have has the beginning drum hits leading to the downbeat,+1 (And 1), as opposed to here where it starts right on the downbeat: 1+ (1 And). I like it better on the recording. A bit subtle, but I think it adds a better drive.
Nobody can beat Flatley for this number. Brendan was good but still not better than Colin. I think Brendan and the lead lady here ended up in getting married. Either way Riverdance was a great show
Brian Ghezelaiagh these guys are super talented but I feel the same way. I believe that Jean and Colin were exquisite and they understood better the essence of the show and the story behind it.
That guy's a bit over-dramatic, would't you say? Not saying it's a bad thing, but it did make me giggle a bit with the whole jazz-hands leather jacket combo :D
I've met Jo and Breandan after a show in Holland, they are the nicest people ever. They signed my pointe shoes, had a really nice chat.
