I am a Celt and my people were here ten thousand years before the English came to these islands, this makes me realise our wonderful culture and tradition ,and language that we have retained, the Scots ,the Welsh ,the Irish ,the Cornish and the Northumbrians.Let’s hope Michael and his wonderful dancers keep the Celtic flame alive.
Michael Flately is just one of those charismatic, highly talented and lovable people who grace this earth during our lifetime. I am privileged to be able to watch his dancing. I cannot thank him enough for the pleasure he gives. Thank you, thank you.
After i once saw Lord of the Dance, i fell in love with Celtic culture, and even chose it to be the theme of my qualification work in Moscow University. 20 years passed and i am still in love
I've been lucky enough to see Riverdance twice live and it was absolutely phenomenal! The sounds of the footwork and the music went through me, I cried both times it was incredible! x 👏👏🥰
So pleased this came up on my recommended list. I took my late Mum to see Lord of the Dance in Manchester in 2002 or 2003. One of those treats for a lady in her 80s. We stayed overnight in a hotel which again was unusual for her. I’ll never forget the look on her face, she was fascinated as was I. Precious memories
I am German and my people came to England after the Roman's quit. I still have a deep fascination and connection with the British Isles. I can't wait to go and see it with my eyes
Go while you are young. Don’t wait until later. It will impact your understanding of history and your studies in general to see this part of the world, her people, and deep past. Start saving and go as soon as possible. Don’t miss the northern parts of the UK. Some of the most ancient artifacts of the Norse invasions and the influence of Viking culture have been found there. You will never forget such a trip!
I don't know why, but the real reason I watch this is just to hear the tapping of the shoes. It just has its own rythm and fits so nicely with the music, like a duet.
Riverdance May be my favorite Irish dancer show BUT this production will always go down in history as one of the best most iconic Irish dance performances EVER! So sexy so incredible.
This was at Micheals peak in the 90s. Financial support, production costs, and public interest are almost obsolete It was during this time a cry out to preserve the heritage. ❤
In 1998 I saw Riverdance on TV and I was lost from the very first second. Over an hour and it was the most amazing show I've ever seen. Michael Flatley is just amazing!
Nie werde ich diese Show vergessen, als ich sie vor Jahren live gesehen habe. A macig, absolut, amazing wonderful. Meine Füsse konnten nicht still sein, so anziehend, das Auge wat gefesselt. Unglaublich, sensationell zugleich Spektakulaer. ❤❤❤❤💃💃💃💃💃
8:20 there's always some stoic in the middle of the crowd totally unmoved 🤣🤣🤣 How that is possible in the midst of such a stunning performance, I cannot fathom! Then again to each his own... 😃
The beauty of essence of life, you can truly hear the silence in the flute and the upcoming peacefull meaning of life. This is real Celtic Mystical Music. I keep on liking this , it is real music made by quiet humans.
He's a brilliant brilliant dancer and I will never tire of watch them all dance. I wish to God that I was fit enough to do this. I have the first video of Riverdance, I remember watching it with my grandson when he was a toddler and he was just mesmerized by the dancing. 🙏🏻❤️
I dont know how people can watch and listen to this beautiful mad music and not want to leap.for joy. Always wanted to be a dancer never got the chance! I love the whole of it music dancing costumes etc. English folk can be quite boring in comparrison...although not all. What people also never see when watching all this wonderful production is all the hours mainly mothers of these dancers all spent taking their children dancing!! Without which none of this would be possible.
Every so often someone extraordinary makes an appearance in our lives and Michael Flatley was such a person. He was brilliant and a talented showman. Imagine the hours of choreographing these shows to the perfection they were. He had the dream and brought it to life. To his critics I say ... your puny remarks are as nothing compared to the thousands of people who enjoyed his shows. I wish I.had been one of them.
What I wouldn't give to be able to see a show like this in 2023. Or even later on. Just listening to it at work or throughout the day gets me pumped. I love this so much.
Was blessed to see River Dance (after Michael Flatly left), LOTD, and Feet of Flames (with Michael Flatly) live in Seattle. Fabulous and so inspiring. Believe both LOTD shows were on their 1st tour of the USA .
I'm astounded by the comments about Michael Flatley re his ego bad dancing etc etc who do you think trains all of these lovely dancers to be absolutely step perfect time and time again despite painful leg and ankle injuries having to stand in dustbins full of ice water after the shows to get the swealings down, The man is a genius and seriously fit to be able to do this dancing show after show all around the world, to the complainers can you dance like that I know I couldn't I was there that night with my wife and it was one of the most stunning performance I've ever seen.
the only people that have anything negative to say about Mr. Flatley, do so, because theyre petty, jealous, or are having androgynous feelings about him, and it fucks with their inner machismo bullshit. Flatley is an astounding, remarkable human being and badass, an exceptional artist for all time, ...and the wet dream of millions of women... to be that talented, good looking, and fit, must be awesome..
Such negative comments undoubtedly come from the armchair critics who have their arses firmly wedged into the seats, emptying bags of snacks down their necks washed down with cheap fizzy pop and the only intelligible thing that can come out of their crops is a thunderous burp.
We saw Michael Flatley LIVE in Lord of the Dance at the Universal Amphitheater some years ago and it was the most spectacular live performance that I've ever seen. Nothing like see him live!
Non riuscirò mai a trovare le parole per esprimere tutte le emozioni che provo...voglio ringraziare per avermi regalato la BELLEZZA! Siete una forza della natura. Grazie dal profondo del mio cuore ❤
I had the honor and privilege of seeing Riverdance in Louisville Kentucky 10 years ago. I was taken to a new Realm that left me forever changed. Proud of my Irish heritage ☘️
Can never see his shows too many times! Have seen LOTD 3 times but unfortunately after Michael retired 😥. Still just as amazing, mesmerizing, heart stopping and beautiful. Bucket list to see one more time ❤️

AWESOME AND AMAZING MICHAEL FLATLEY IS A GREAT DANCER I LOVE RIVERDANCE AND I LOVE THIS I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE WITH LOVE FROM PORTUGAL 😘♥️💜 👍☘️✝️💋🍀
I'm Irish and Micheal Flatley is the best irish American dancer he is super talented and his feet are so fast and the taps sound incredible.Hats off to Micheal for giving us Riverdance and Fleet of Flames and Celtic Tiger.
Wooow only amazing things, the dancers sometimes move like floating in the air, of course the music, is not only the dance, but the way they present it, of course, and even the cameras are perfectly coreographed, very impressed and grateful, cheers from Costa Rica, best wishes to Ireland and to the modern dancing celts 😊
You have to start young to master this dance. Irish children (who want to learn to step dance) join dance schools and then engage in competitions between the schools. It's awesome.

Hi Tina, I am sitting here in Ireland reading your comment. I am so sorry to read about your dad, I bet he was a lovely man and loved his girl so much, so sorry for your loss x
I'm love listening to Celtic music and watching them dance. I would love to go to Ireland so day. It has been a dream of mine since I was in high school.
I LOVE THIS!!!! 'The Lord of The Dance' is truly a masterpiece! When it first came out in the mid-late 90's, I got it on VHS, then a few years ago I found it on DVD, but the DVD doesn't have one of my most favorite songs/dances in it!! The one that's missing is the one where the ladies and gentlemen are all dressed in bright colors, and during the dance the ladies lift their off the ground, while the men hold them up, all while going in a circle!! I'm almost wondering if there is a DVD with that in it at all! Hopefully I'll be able to find one!
Among the most powerful empires in the world have tried to take down the Celts, but they have never been able to, because we Celts know that true enduring power is not in swords and guns, but in the hearts of the people as expressed communally through the arts and our attachment to the foundation of our sacred lands. That is a power that continues unabated, and it can never be stolen from us, or starved out of us, or propagandized out of us or imprisoned. Celtic art, Celtic dance, Celtic music, Celtic poetry, Celtic theater, the cultures that tried to destroy us have nothing to rival the power and survival of our voices at the crossroads. (There's no "Roman section" in music stores, but every western music story has its Celtic music section.) We endure because we dance.
Gaynor Mainwaring : my family saw Lord of the Dance at MGM Grand in 1997. It’s was one of the most amazing and mesmerizing thing I’ve ever seen! Even our 18 year old son was enthralled!!!
I'm American, but considered a half breed; Irish-German descent. Michael Flatley rules! And I'm very proud of my Irish blood. I LOOK Irish! I'm short, I have hazel eyes with lots of green and amber, my hair is dark blonde with a lot of red, my skin is white as white can be and I can't tan to save my life, and I'm fine boned and have the high cheekbones of my Celtic ancestors. I guess you could say I'm Viking Irish. Now, a very good friend of mine, he's Irish-Russian.(ikr?) He's a whole foot taller than I am, bit I wouldn't say he's big boned like the Slavs. He looks like a Pict. He has black hair, and the same hazel eyes I have. His skin is just as pale as mine and he can't tan, either! We're not related, but everyone thinks we're brother and sister, because our Irish traits make us look so much alike. We think it's pretty funny!
flatley has always been a huge inspiration for me since before I could walk I would bop to his videos. What he has done is amazing and to be able to make a living out of something you love is incredible!
Hè payed a high price for it,hè has arthritis through his whole body, but God hè is a great teacher and his summer school back home is awesome,i danced with Mike in LOTD ROTD CT feet of flames,
Chaud Mila Failte !!! I feel the warrior spirit within my body, my soul and my spirit. I have Celtic roots in my family , and I literally feel like dancing when I hear the music. I love this .. It’s beautifully done, the choreography is amazing.
By the way, It never occurred to me to think of this video as a separate entity, but as a small bit of Lord of the Dance. Steve is probably thinking of it the same way, and there are absolutely battle scenes in the show.
I am half irish have the temper this is most definitely an IRISH..CELT dance orchestrated by a phenomenal person MR Flately and crew.❤amazing what precision one has to be in fantastic condition .love the irish period❤
THE most incredible dancing I ever saw. AMAZING. Could watch this forever. Brillient work, co-ordination, music, the lot. What fantastic choregrahpy !! First class, thank you so much. Glad I have Irish blood in me !!
They have to or they committing a crime.
"... and my people were here ten thousand years before the English came..."
Show me "your people" ( - ten thousand years ago).
Same here!!
@@Ahuramainyu The very fact that we're here now, means that we'here from the beginning of time n creation?..
You mean the Roman's
The English did not come to their own island my friend.
It's the mystery, the haunting music, the beauty and the talent that keeps me coming back to watch this over and over again.
So glad it was recorded so we keep it.
Michael Flately is just one of those charismatic, highly talented and lovable people who grace this earth during our lifetime. I am privileged to be able to watch his dancing. I cannot thank him enough for the pleasure he gives. Thank you, thank you.
Unico Michael Flatley
After i once saw Lord of the Dance, i fell in love with Celtic culture, and even chose it to be the theme of my qualification work in Moscow University. 20 years passed and i am still in love
He is unbelievably egotistical, thats from people who know him.... All nice and sweet to the public..... But his neighbours wouldn't agree
Extremely talented...not at all lovable. Karma was swift in paying him back. Hubris causes the fall of many men!!!
Very magical. ❤
I grew up in Las Vegas. I've seen a lot of entertainment. But never seen anything so magnificent as this WOW! Wish I could see this live.
I've been lucky enough to see Riverdance twice live and it was absolutely phenomenal! The sounds of the footwork and the music went through me, I cried both times it was incredible! x 👏👏🥰

Amazing
Likewise. I think Michael Flatley is an insufferable peacock but I love the rest of the dancers and the SOUND!
The sound of tap shoes on the floor in rhythmic sounds is the most incredible sound ever!
I love the the silent steps of the soft shoe dances just as much.
Tap was conceived as another instrument added to the players. Listening should always be first.
Magical, enchanting, mesmerizing, uplifting dance!! Thank you and God bless you!
Yeah it’s amazing isn’t it every time I watch these I get chicken bumps or pickle bumps and Thank you for your comment and you stay safe everybody

Michael Flatley is just amazing!
Freya Moonlight Yes. It was and is magic.

Yes he got pain in legs and feet. Arthritis rewards dancers harshly. At least he's still choreographing.

When I was growing up in Boston In the 50’s, Irish step dancing groups were common. Many schools had a “team”. But it was always girls...

Chaud Mila Failte !!! I feel the warrior spirit within my body, my soul and my spirit. I have Celtic roots in my family , and I literally feel like dancing when I hear the music. I love this ..
It’s beautifully done, the choreography is amazing.
I just realized in this version they change their outfits between the two parts. That is amazing on its own.

My whole body resonates and responds with passion to this show!!
No sound like it on earth. The call of the pipes to battle!
There isn't a pipe in this video...
@@TomMurrayPHR Just a simple whistle 😏
What pipes? To battle? Watch Military Tattoo.
Hi Steve. You're so right,!
By the way, It never occurred to me to think of this video as a separate entity, but as a small bit of Lord of the Dance. Steve is probably thinking of it the same way, and there are absolutely battle scenes in the show.
WOW what a crowd! Fantastic music and dancing, I love the video and thanks for sharing!💞🌹
