Top 5 live rock bands of all time IMO. Check out Homework, First I Look at the Purse, Musta Got Lost, Give it to Me, Detroit Breakdown, I Do, Back to Get Ya, and Love-Itis. You can find some really good live footage from the Winterland Venue 1977. Peter is one of the nicest people in the business. He tours these days with a band called the Midnight Travelers. His guitarist is currently on tour with Bonnie Raitt.
Great commentary and suggestions. The J.Giles band could draw stadium shows, and did. Cleveland loved the Band, as much as Beloved Sons, Michael Stanley, Joe Walsh, & The James Gang. Adopted sons David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen, Grand Funk, Nugent, Seger, Led Zeppelin, RUSH, Artful Dodger, etc. That era had the greats, we seen them all live. FOR CHEAP.

I once saw them steal the show as the opening act for Kiss when Kiss was at the height of their popularity. They were so good that even the Kiss fans in full make-up didn't want them to leave the stage.

Vocalist Peter Wolf was, is, a dynamic frontman for The J. Geils Band, and the rest of the band is just a bunch of killer musicians. J. Geils himself on guitar, Seth Justman on Keys, Danny Klein on Bass, Steven Jo Bladd on Drums and Magic Dick on the Harmonica. Got to see them live back in the early 80's and they tore the place down. Literally. Great show, great music and a great time had by all. More excellent songs by Geils: "First I Look In The Purse", "Ain't Nothin' But A House Party", "Must Of Got Lost", the live version with the long intro by Mr. Wolf, and their MTV hits, "Love Stinks", "Centerfold", and "Freeze Frame". Another big party band from Boston, Mass.
I'm just shocked when we don't get 'Centerfold' or 'Freeze Frame' if we get anything at all by J. Geils Band. I won't hold my breath for 'Stoop Down #39', 'Floyd's Hotel', 'So Good', 'Chimes', or the ultimate party jam 'It Ain't What You Do (It's How You Do it). Thanks for this upload.

Believe it or not this band is from Massachusetts the lead singer used to be a DJ on the radio in Boston and The founder and guitarist j Giles is from Worcester Massachusetts.
J. Geils Band was great. Try "Centerfold". Also, expand out and catch Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. Try "I Don't Want to Go Home", "The Fever", "Havin' a Party", or "Trapped Again".
