Those type of garbage content makes me feel genuinely symphatetic towards adults in relationships with somewhat substansial age gaps. Like some (chronically online) people already call any form of age gaps (even between adults) in a relationship fictional or real; "ped0phillic", "grooming", "creepy", "power disavantage", ect (while there could be those offenses involved, especially if one of the partner is a minor, it's ignorant to think it happens in every age gap relationship especially in irl ones). Of course in the webtoon, MC unintentionally validating the boy's "feelings" since he was 8 then making it a reality as a 30-something year old 10 years later out of her own accord is somewhat..."problematic" and I don't think relationships with bigger age gap starts like that normally. It's one thing to find them "strange" or couldn't understand it as a lot of people couldn't see themselves (sometimes contamplating that mindset to anyone) dating someone above/below a few years of their age even as adults. But shit like that webtoon is just helping foster a bigger prejudice against potraying adults in a healthy relationship with an age gap by contemplating them with an actual moral and criminal offense.
@@iamsquidzy Age gaps are different depending on the age of both people. My mother is 8 years apart from my father, but they met as adults. A 3 year age gap doesn't seem like a big deal, but if one is 15 and the other 12 it's just disgusting. One is in highschool, the other in elementary (if not entering middleschool). One might be starting to become sexually active, the other found out how babies are made a year ago. It's weird because the parties both see sex differently, which could lead to the 12 year old to have an unconfortable relationship with their sexuality and could be pressured into doing things they have uet developed to understand.
I honestly find it kind of shocking, because even the change in behavior from, say, 11 to 14 can be a pretty big one. The fact the guy didn't noticeably change at all is... weird.
If this were on a porn site, nobody would bat an eyes, but Webtoons is a place where 13 years old kids tend to gather. Not the place for these fetishist stories.

“if the genders were reversed, people wouldn’t let it slide” doesn’t apply to webcomics because Lore Olympus is a multiple award winning comic and the plot is literally a permanently 19 year old girl getting trapped in a relationship with a predatory permanently 35-40 year old man, and it’s entirely disguised as a true love romance story. People don’t care no matter what gender the victim is
When the Greek mythology was created, kidnapping brides was completely alright and considered as a marriage ceremony. The groom had to ask consent from the bride's father first. Persephone was already an adult when it happened, and Hades was a gentleman compared to other Gods of Olympos. He had Zeus' consent so he did nothing wrong. He just obeyed the etiquette of the time.
And thus this is why I stay away from that story as well as it's books and stuff. Not to mention the original story of Persephone and Hades is very gross. Even if Hades doesn't cause as much trouble unlike his brothers, he's still a bad person for kidnapping a child (his niece no less) from her mother.
@@tultsi93 “he had Zeus’ consent” HE STILL DID IT. People fr need to stop using Zeus as a scapegoat for what Hades did. He shouldn’t have KIDNAPPED her no matter who told him it was ok. Oh my god
@@tultsi93 And by the way I say that because like, okay it was brushed over at the time but that doesn’t make it any less screwed up. And especially when looking at it through a modern perspective, why are we excusing this? For a bland ass romance? Ok bro
@@generalginx 1) I never said it's OK. 2) No one was "using Zeus as a scapegoat", that's literally what happened in the myth. 3) In the acient Greece, kidnapping brides was normal. The myth was written at that time, and people should look at it from that perspective. 4) Persephone wasn't all innocent either; she went once fully yandere and turned a girl into a weed as a punishment for seducing Hades. And yet you don't see me ranting how toxic woman she is. 5) Don't look every single damn thing from the linces of modern times or then everything's problematic.
If this story was realistic, this girl would've said to the little boy "kid, you're way too young to be thinking that way about me or any girl that's double your age. please leave me alone!" And then, if he showed up again when he's eighteen and she's twenty six, she would be immediately creeped out and say "I don't like you! I didn't like you when you were a kid and I don't like you now, leave me alone or I'll report you to the cops for stalking me!" But this is Webtoon, so silly things like logic and common sense don't exist in the twisted parallel universe that this website and it's users live in
i read the rest of this "thing" and the girl just lets him stalk her and follow her to her house, and doesn't kick him out when he S assaults her in her sleep, she just enables him so much. so over all this webtoon is boring trash. 3/10
Rough guide for the pronunciations: the kid's name is Qingruo (pronounced like "Ching-Rwoh"), while the girl MC is Gui Qianqiu ("Gway Chien-Chioh", 3 syllables)
It's how she never really said no or put the reason for the rejection on the world. This is what was expressed in the first chapter, "I can't date you because the world would think that's messed up but when you become legal according to the world, sure." This wouldn't be weird if she had said no and left. Then he pursued her when he was 18, then the story wouldn't have the allegations. It would be an age gap romance.
Nope it encouraged him to come back by not shutting it down immediately and then said some questionable things. It's not full blown grooming because it's not by his side as he ages but when he is she dates him as his full grown ass adult crush a decade later. That's fucked up in itself but the age gape also is concerning.
This webtoon remembered me something.. So, here in Brazil there's a "famous" community on tiktok who consists of women in their 20's dating male teens. They call themselves "Maria Mucilon" (a common name + name of a baby food brand), it's absurd how their videos still on air.. few people reported it with videos but, nothing.
3:47 the people that made this trash webtoon are from Korea so I can forgive the grammar mistakes, English is one of the most difficult languages to learn, but I'm not forgiving them for making the actual webtoon and how awful it is. PS great crossover video! ❤
This isnt nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Female MC didnt do anything except lead him on with a false promise in hopes to get him off her back. The dialogue towards an 8 year old was pretty bad though. My perception could change depending on whether we get to see any flashbacks with more interactions between the two. Overall this story just seems to be very cliche but not as bad as made out to be.
Could have been worse, it wouldnt trouble anyone if it were on another platform not directed to preteens. I think part of what ruins the webtoon is the dialogue. I'm not that picky, I don't mind a typo every once in a while, but it's clear English isn't the author's first language. This can lead to contextual confusion and general room for error. I've actually seen a webtoon where this has a very creative workaround. So creative in fact, I didn't even realize the author wasn't raised on English. The workaround is to use pictures in speech bubbles, with indicators such as body language to make it clear what the character is trying to say. It sounds simple, but it ensures people from just about any language can easily understand what's happening. I haven't read many webtoons, so I'm not sure how unique this storytelling element is, but I imagine it's pretty rare. I don't believe it would work here, though. I believe the story would benefit most from not existing at all, but also just having more clear dialogue rather than next to none at all.
@@seeeds4702 No, it's called The Little Trashmaid. There's initially no dialogue at all if memory serves me correctly, but it starts showing up soon. :> Barely related, but I've been thinking about how the style of dialogue kind of reflects the language barrier between the characters. They can't quite communicate to eachother in literal words, but the mermaid can decipher what her friends are saying. She's still a mystery to them, but tries her best.
@@Lunar_willowwAHH I got the feeling that you were talking about the little trashmaid Honestly I love pieces of fiction where the character's aren't even saying it yet it's easy to understand what's going on- I envy that amount of writing ability. It also reminds me of the original Minecraft Monster School. So simple yet so charming
I don't mind these topics being explored so long as it's in a fictional sense since no kids are actually being harmed. I think that's the best part of comics and animations. But it has to be done good and the writing level needed to express it is on the Expert level and defiantly not to be romanticized.
I most definitely agree- it's not so much that I do not want any of these things to be explored in fiction, it's just that I want it to be explored correctly. I want it to be clear to the audience that you're not supposed to root for these kinds of things. It should be educational, not used to feed people who fetishize these sort of stuff
Oh yeah, another webtoon where the author made their MC 18 yo so he would be just legal enough for the sexy time stuff. And his supposed love interest is older that him by a lot too, so that so sexy age gap couple 🤢 🤮 Why I feel I heard of this idea before? 🤔 *cough* The Fate *cough*. Oh, and can we talk how much of a none- comic this webtoon is? Like, there are maybe only 5-7 panels per chapter, and the story is keep getting cut away in the most nonsensical moments. You can't even get a flow of the story when there is no place for it to flow! And the less I say how there literally is no story in this webtoon the better. all throughout the little part Jack and Co. read to us, the ENTIRE dialogue went like "I'm 18 now!" "Lol, so what?" 'I can be your BF now" "Lol, nope." Truly a riveting storytelling right there.
Right now, it seems like the female mc isn't actually reciprocating his feelings which is good. But it's still gross because it's obvious where it's going to go. I honestly hate that stuff like this exists on webtoon, and isn't used as a teaching experience. An actually GOOD example of this is the anime Devil's Line, where the teacher tries to "approach" the main character and is arrested, putting it in a bad light. It's okay for a young character to have a crush on a teacher. I've had crushes on older people as well. As long as they are either aware that they can't be with the older person/teacher, or it's shown that they shouldn't be and the older person dismisses their feelings (ie. they think of them as a kid or sibling), it's fine. Also, there have been people using the "iT's iN a DiFfErEnT cOuNtRy" excuse which is total bullshit. For example, I've heard the age of consent in Germany is like 13. If an American woman/man dates a 14 year old german girl/boy, it's still disgusting! Because you have lived in a country/state where that is not the case. At that point, you're just abusing a different country's laws to get more victims.
Isn't it also in most countries where teenagers are ''legal'' it's usually with other teenagers? I guess the logic is that ''horny teens'' are going to do it, but that doesn't mean older people can just go after them.
3:45 her only caring about the fact that other people will think she's a pedophile instead of her not wanting to date him because she knows pedophilia's wrong is a massive red flag
I feel like this webtoon is made by a chinese author (based from the name and grammar) Chances are thay the dialogues are translated directly from google. People rarely use "pupil" when talking right? But chinese people usually do. So when the dialogue is translated, they are quite literally translated. This is based from my experience in a chinese school though so take it with a pinch of salt. And the name "Qing Ruo" is not spelt with a literal *Q* but more like a *tch* kind of sound? I'm not sure how to explain it properly. It's better to ask google about such things. If it is, the pronounciatiom and the grammar shouldn't be made fun of. I think the overall story isn't necessarily bad/promotes pedophilia as there are not a single intent but rather more of a comedy age gap webtoon. But yes, I do think she should've rejected him a long time ago instead of leading him on (though it was done unintentionally)
(Jack walks through field of Webtoons he helped get cancelled for violating ToS) Webtoon Creator: "I fear no guideline. But that...THING. 😥 It scares me."
My parents are 17 years apart but they were both ADULTS when they met and fell in love. 6 years later and their about to get married! It’s absolutely disgusting that people are trying to fetishise pedophilia 🤢🤮 There’s a difference between age gaps and PEDOPHILA / GROOMING!!
Wait wait wait, hold on. If the guy was 6, the comic takes place 12 years later. And if his teacher is 26 how, she would be 14 when he was 6, how on earth did she get a degree at FOURTEEN?!
Jack, I'm sorry but Grooming requires Intent from the predator. The only thing that makes this genuinely weird was her saying basically, "Find me when you're 18" but even then...it seemed like a joke? Granted, She should've shut him down from the start...but seriously I was almost confused throughout the whole video like, "Where's the intent? The predatory manipulation?" Other than it looked like a basic Age gap story
@odasengoku7314 True, but that doesn't have to with her being a "groomer" or "pedophile". Honestly, the reason the boy is written as this obsessive stalker is likely to make her look even less potentially predatory in comparison.
It's technically not grooming, you're right. But it's still disgusting, as the adult doesn't reject the kid and sees nothing wrong with the relationship.
I always thought grooming had to have some intention behind it. Even though it's an weird scenario, to be sure. Nothing really took place before QIN was 18, so nothing pedo was really shown. It was QIN's action to save himself for her. Still, the most concerning line was "Not exactly, it depends on your looks." I'd imagine that could be taken as "When you're 18, you still have to be hot," or "If you looked more mature now, I'd date you." Could be a massive misunderstanding. The author is horrible with English grammar. I'm not dismissing the probability that the author weaved the story in such a way to make it "legal." They could've made QIN 18 from the start. It still carries the social taboo. But I'm not convinced it's grooming. It's just a kid who waited until he was a consenting adult. No one forced him to be with this girl. Unless I'm missing a flashback in this comic that the girl prepared QIN to be her boyfriend before he was 18.
@VanomtheFurryLose I guess a minor who happens to have a crush on someone older than them is grooming, is what you're saying? If we change the genders it doesn't change anything. The girl even rejected him a second time when he was 18. As an actual victim of grooming, I know what it looks like. This is nothing close to it.
I heard some people say "adults can get groomed too" (by older adults often with a higher "social ranking" such as boss) What do you think of that statement?
I'm sorry, I'm not seeing it with this. Given she seems to actively brush the kid off and shows no interest in him, unless there's a lot missing from this of her grooming him. But as is, I just don't see it. HOWEVER, I can suggest a manga where that is the plot. Vacation with Maou pet by Neji. I love her work but the fact the main character is in middle school is just so very uncomfortable. I still enjoy it because the art, characters and some of the gags. but the age of the main character is just impossible to ignore. This wasn't even the only time she did it either. While not the plot, the ending of a later manga called dear noman had the main character's ghost girlfriend moving onto the afterlife and being reincarnated, as a human. Meaning by the time she was even able to meet the mc again, she was a literal child. I love neji's work but I have no idea what the hell she was thinking with either of those

You know how this should have started and ended. Kid :”I love you” Lady:” well that’s very sweet of you, what exactly do you mean? Kid:”I wanna be your boyfriend “ Lady: “ that’s very kind of you but I’m an adult, and you are a child. It would be very inappropriate of me to date you. Ok? “ Kid:” why though?” Lady:” because you aren’t ready for that kind of relationship, and if any adult says they want that kind of relationship with you then you should tell another trusted adult because that person has bad intentions and they are trying to take advantage of you. Even if you think you also like them in that way that doesn’t mean they should be trying to do that with you. Because you don’t fully understand what it means to be in that kind of relationship and you are not mature enough for it. No matter what that adult tells you, if they are trying to date you they don’t actually care about you, they only want to take advantage of you for their own sick desires. (I know this is very stilted and repetitive but you get what I’m trying to say, the woman should be telling the kid that kind of relationship is wrong and dangerous for the child.)
I can’t believe they didn’t notice the “Addme” user specifically used the word “fresh” to refer to a boy that just turned 18. As if he’s some type of an object or food. Disgusting and creepy.
This isn't as bad as it seems, normal people would probably say something along those lines to kids who have crushes on them because they don't expect them to remember or hold onto that kind of promise or they mature and end up liking people their age. It was poorly written and translated but 8 year age gap is kinda normal, my parents are 7 years apart and I believe met when my mom was 19 and my dad around 26. The webtoon isn't grooming really it's just about a kid who seemed to take what she said too seriously
18 and 26 isn't good. Ones brain is not fully developed and still in dumb teen mode, the others brain is finished totally. I think the fault is in the premise rather than the main character (only at first, she ruins that later) We aren't given much information about either of them except "distant" and "desperate." Kinda funny that the comment in the Webtoon say people that have negative review on the comic is more childish that the boy in the comic while in real life a mature person would realize how weird this comic is.

3:45 hi! psychology nerd here to make a quick correction! pedophilia *is* actually a condition. paraphilias (such as pedophilia or zoophilia) are mental conditions that can be fixed with therapy. being a paraphile isn't inherently bad, as long as you take the initiative to get the therapy for it, or if you don't have the money to do that, make it so you never have the opportunities to act on those urges. so yeah, pedophilia is a condition and the wording "i have pedophilia" is actually correct! what was likely an error from the creator not having english as a first language somehow still holds up. comic still sucks though, imagine romanticizing grooming. A 3 year age gap doesn't seem like a big deal, but if one is 15 and the other 12 it's just disgusting. One is in highschool, the other in elementary (if not entering middleschool). One might be starting to become sexually active, the other found out how babies are made a year ago.

Hey dont accuse filipinoes of being like that...
If this story was realistic, this girl would've said to the little boy "kid, you're way too young to be thinking that way about me or any girl that's double your age. please leave me alone!"
And then, if he showed up again when he's eighteen and she's twenty six, she would be immediately creeped out and say "I don't like you! I didn't like you when you were a kid and I don't like you now, leave me alone or I'll report you to the cops for stalking me!"
But this is Webtoon, so silly things like logic and common sense don't exist in the twisted parallel universe that this website and it's users live in
i read the rest of this "thing" and the girl just lets him stalk her and follow her to her house, and doesn't kick him out when he S assaults her in her sleep, she just enables him so much.

It's how she never really said no or put the reason for the rejection on the world. This is what was expressed in the first chapter, "I can't date you because the world would think that's messed up but when you become legal according to the world, sure."
This wouldn't be weird if she had said no and left. Then he pursued her when he was 18, then the story wouldn't have the allegations. It would be an age gap romance.

Was it Hapi Buni? It does that too, characters don't speak and when they do, its in pictures.
@@seeeds4702 No, it's called The Little Trashmaid. There's initially no dialogue at all if memory serves me correctly, but it starts showing up soon. :>
Barely related, but I've been thinking about how the style of dialogue kind of reflects the language barrier between the characters.
I feel like this webtoon is made by a chinese author (based from the name and grammar)
Chances are thay the dialogues are translated directly from google.

Granted, She should've shut him down from the start...but seriously I was almost confused throughout the whole video like, "Where's the intent? The predatory manipulation?" Other than it looked like a basic Age gap story
It gets to sexual assualt when the boy kisses her while she's sleeping and the girl doesn't even address the situation
Yeah, it's more like enabling rather than grooming.

Yeah, its feels like a chinese name, rarely anybody would be called with that names, even in GT it would go to traditional chinese translation
its pronounced as Ching-rou and i found it abit off putting when y'all laughed at the name :( bc its chinese
was thinking the same thing

hi! psychology nerd here to make a quick correction! pedophilia *is* actually a condition. paraphilias (such as pedophilia or zoophilia) are mental conditions that can be fixed with therapy. being a paraphile isn't inherently bad, as long as you take the initiative to get the therapy for it, or if you don't have the money to do that, make it so you never have the opportunities to act on those urges.
so yeah, pedophilia is a condition and the wording "i have pedophilia" is actually correct! what was likely an error from the creator not having english as a first language somehow still holds up. comic still sucks though, imagine romanticizing grooming. L
AWESOME WRITING OML😰 ✍️✍️✍️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
THE WAY IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS CROSSOVER OMFG
Jack has to make a misspelling, mistranslation and typo compilation of some of the webtoons he has read at this point
There are gonna be people saying it wasn’t grooming but she never shut down the idea of dating him and low key encouraged it.
Like, if you have to make up these weirdly specific/fake scenarios to justify dating an 18 year old when you’re 30+, ya got issues.
@VanomtheFurryLose Didn’t say they were a minor.
It’s just morally questionable for a 30+ person going after someone likely fresh out of high school. You can be legally correct but morally bankrupt.
@VanomtheFurryLoseTrue but they really aren't adults either because the brain is still developing for some years. Legal doesn't mean moral.
I went to the comment section of the webtoon and people even hated it saying isn't this grooming and why is this gross shit on webtoon
@@skyshunts Dang, maybe there is hope.
I swear to goodness Age Matters did this better while the girl is 29 almost 30 the guy is 23 years old , he's old enough to date her , but why 18 tho
Somehow, not the worst grammar or translation I have seen on the webtoon.
i once saw someone defend this comic by saying "plenty of people are into smaller boy x bigger girl!" and all i have to say is---in those dynamics they are both adults. not grooming. (also the boy is bigger than the girl in this?? so that just in validates that argument even more)
This comic reminds me of that one wierd ass age is just a number youtube short that's sTILL UP. I LITERALLY SEARCHED IT AND ITS STILL THERE WTF UA-cam
I've seen that
Series idea: Webcomics that in plot and concept should be bad but have surprisingly well made scriptwriting.
Recently I re-checked Amity Thereafter on Webtoon and yes, that is a Danny Phantom fancomic!
Chalupa sounds like Shadow and it becomes way funnier
I NEVER THOUGHT I NEEDED BLACKLIGHTJACK AND CHALUPA COLLAB UNTIL NOW
STOP GIVING EDP WHAT HE WANTS. L WEBTOOM. THIS HAS TO STOP FRRRR!
qingruo is a Chinese name like“秦若”or something,i wonder if it's a freaking Chinese webtoon.
I was waiting for this crossover 😆
First " the fate!" And now this. What is webtoon doing??
the first thing i fought backjack woud say at the start was smth like: we have a lot of ppl here like obama...
If the gender roles were swapped, people would be raging :/
Which is awful! Both scenarios are disgusting!!
The most funded Kickstarter for a graphic novel (technically a licensing and translation of an old-ish manga) involves, at center stage, the gender roles being swapped and the age gap standing at nearly double this one.
(Though, I suppose it doesn't involve grooming put in a good light... but neither does this webcomic.)
I really wanted this collab to happen!🗿🗿🗿
FBI should just hang out on Webtoon and bring in these weirdo comic makers for questioning.
i think it's originally in chinese and got google translated so that's why the grammar is like that
I never knew I needed this until now
BABE WAKE UP BLACKLIGHTJACK AND CHALUPA COLLAB JUST DROPPED🗣️🗣️
Somebody get the author on a watchlist
