Praise God Praise God!!! God is Good all the time. Like you said we have so much to be thankful for. Your son is a miracle from the Lord & has a new lease on life. Totally awesome. Will continue to keep him in Prayer. God has his heart and his back!!. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am an organ donor. I was born on September 17th 1960. I worked 41 years at the same place and 13 days after I retired, I found myself in the hospital only to discover I needed a heart transplant…. Long story short, they pulled 1972ml of fluid from around my heart, and with prayer and a miracle from God, I left the hospital and have not been back… so God bless you and your son. My grandmother made dressing close to your recipe and I miss cooking with her. My oldest daughter and her family are hosting Thanksgiving… but I will make your dressing to take with us. Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless you and family. Thank you, Ray
Your family is so blessed. I am so happy that he is doing so well. My son has been battling cancer for 8 years and unfortunately he passed away the day after his 52 birthday. My life will never be the same again but I know he is no longer struggling with this awful disease. He never complained and I know he went thru what he did to stay with us as long as he could. I will miss him every day of my remaining life. Cherish every second. D
You brought me to happy tears. God indeed gives us what we need without even asking for. I’m almost 60 but chose to be an organ donor since I got my drivers license at age 16. I have no family left and watching your videos reminds me of my mom and grandma. May God bless you always. Live in Christ, Todd 🙏🏻❤️😃
Ty for sharing love the dressing I never put boiled eggs in my gravy but going to try it out later on good to here of your son❤❤❤ God Bless you and yours Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
i once accidentally used the puree blade on my onions and it blended them so fine it looked like an onion smoothie! i went ahead and poured the onion smoothie into my stuffing and it turned out the best i've ever made. i guess it releases ALL the onion flavor. i've done it that way ever since!
😂onion smoothie is funny but I wondered if hers would be an onion puree' and how would it affect the taste. It's funny how you can discover a masterpiece by accident 😊
I had a roommate who HATED onion so much she said she was allergic to it. The truth was that she didn’t like the texture of onions. One day I was making dressing and I knew I couldn’t make it without onions. So I put the onion In the blender with the liquid. She raved about how delicious it was! When I told her it had onion and how I did it, she was so excited because she found a way to enjoy the flavor and avoid the texture. I never diced onions for my dressing again!
I’m almost in tears. My mom passed away 2011 and it has fallen upon me to do Thanksgiving, and I can prepare a wonderful meal but the one thing I always fail at is the show stopper, the dressing! I feel like this is my mom’s recipe, and I feel confident that I can now do all the thanksgiving things
Same here - my mom passed away in 2004 and I thought for sure after all the years I helped her with the holiday meals I could do her dressing. Well nope I have not been able to but I really think that this is it and I have a recipe now. My mom didn't have a recipe other than a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I have been looking for years for something that would be close and I believe MeMe's is it. So sorry for your loss @karrigirl ❤
Yes, you can. Dressing is not hard. I use sage in mine. It is always the star of the dinner. Melt butter in 2 big iron skillets and cook your dressing in those until the edges are crispy. It’s delicious.
This is the first video I have seen of MeMe's. She had me at the get-go! What a concise and to the point experience! She wastes no words or time putting this recipe together. I became her biggest fan immediately. God Bless All of Us!
When are you going to add. The crumbled biscuit leave out the celery more broth and then you will have southern cornbread dressing just my family recipe
I love watching your cooking videos. My dad had a heart transplant when he was about 60 years old. He lived for 22 more years after the transplant. It truly was a blessing for our family. God Bless Your Family!
What a wonderful blessing! It’s no coincidence that The Lord gave him a new heart on his birthday. I. Pray that he continue to do well. God bless you and your family. Dawn
Sausage dressing with sage is incredible! My mama simmered turkey necks for dressing and added 2 eggs to keep it together :) Sage is a must here but we're Yanks 😂
I simmer the broth with a couple cans of chicken, a bay leaf my sautéed onions and celery just to add a little meat to my dressing. It's my favorite thing too! Mom always boiled the neck and picked it and added the organs too but my hubby likes to eat the organs and you don't get much meat.off that neck. I throw it in anyway.
@patk1254 Yes, it does! I'm shaking my head chuckling a bit at all the people here who insist they don't like sage and use poultry seasoning instead. You don't know what you don't know, I guess. Personally, we love sage and add way more than most. Oh, nutmeg as well 😊 Edit: a word
Meme I love you! I found you a few weeks ago and you absolutely make my day. I want to share my grandmother's tips on her giblet gravy. She would put a healthy tablespoon of dressing (before it had been baked) into her chicken broth. We add boiled eggs and chopped chicken livers (I don't care for gizzards!). The dressing provides the thickening element. Yumm. Thank you for brining your sunshine to the world. You are exactly why I am proud to be a Southern woman. Have a great day. Shine for Jesus!!
In my family we put the hard boiled eggs, diced in the dressing, not the gravy, saute the celery & onion, but make a roll of biscuits to add to cornbread. Dry both out by letting them sit out crumbled up & spread out in 1 layer on the dinner table for at least 24 hours & use the broth from the turkey added to dressing, definitely make sure it's sloppy as my grandma would say, not so much poultry seasoning as it can make it taste dirty (another grandma sayin) add sage, bake & YUM!!
Usually you cook the way your mom made her food. Being from the North cornbread is replaced by toasted bread. I am going to give this a try with a roasting chicken. I never heard of cooked diced hard boiled eggs in making the gravy. This is definitely new to me and I need a give it a try. Blessings and continue renewed health to your son. My niece had a kidney transplant. Three way switch with 6 operating rooms in use. John Hopkins and it made national news at that time. My daughter’s birthday is November 1. God works in mysterious ways and we should never doubt.
I saute my onions & celery. I dont like that raw taste in my dressing. I also use cream of chicken soup & chicken broth. I use very little sage MeMe. Poultry seasning with other seasonings are enough. You can make me your dressing anytime MeMe!❤😊 Praise God for totally healing your son! He is sooo good!!
❤ I am so happy to have found your video's! I catch myself smiling listening to your lessons.and what a beautiful family you have...God bless you and yours! Blessings to the donor family!!
I use both poultry seasoning and sage light handed. But poultry seasoning does have sage in it. I have always sauteed my chopped celery and onions before adding Like my mother did! Love to watch you cook !!
Miss MeMe this was truly an awesome video and always nice to share family with us all. I wanted to grab a plate and eat a little of everything you made it looks so delicious and welcoming. Of course those deviled eggs made me want to jump in there. Nothing like great Southern cooking. My mom gave me a little hint when making regular or cornbread dressing after mixing up the ingredients add a couple tsps of baking powder it really makes the dressing puff up and gives it a fluffier taste try it once for me. Love your videos and you definitely are blessed with your cooking talents. Robert C. in Portland Oregon PS MeMe i am a registered nurse and worked over 35 years in post open heart intensive care and yes open heart surgery and heart transplant programs have come so advanced and enriches the recipient's lives Yes we all need to be organ donors to help others in need.
Dear Miss MeMe, I am an organ donor! I'm so glad that your son is doing well and that your family is so blessed! Your recipes are just amazing and I'm so glad that I now have your wonderful cookbook! Bless you so much for what you do for those of us who wish we could be part of your wonderful family!
Happy Thanksgiving, 2024! I don’t know how I missed this video last year, but so glad I found it now! So, just now learning about your son and his heart transplant last year in Charlotte. We lived in Charlotte from the end of 1999 to the summer of 2007, and my husband’s cardiologist was from the Sanger Group! They are a great group of specialists, and I am so grateful your son was able to receive a new heart! We are all organ donors! ! My husband hasn’t had a transplant, but he’s had bypass surgery twice, two heart attacks, and he added a pacemaker this past summer. We are so thankful for the care he’s had! The Lord has provided exactly what we have needed when we needed it! I truly don’t know how people who don’t know Him make it in this world! And every year I am more and more thankful! May this Thanksgiving find you and your entire family enjoying the SONshine of His love, His grace and His mercy to each of us! He truly is our All in All!!! ❤️🙏🏻❤️
My son is 3 years out and doing great! ❤️ So very thankful! Praying for your husband… and like you said, he is in great hands. Keep shining and I will too!!
Everyone has their own recipe for dressing. My mother boiled a hen, and used that broth, it had some onion, celery and carrot in the water to cook that hen. She then made the corn bread the day before, so it could dry out. She also made a pan of regular or buttermilk biscuits and let them dry overnight. She always precooked the celery & onions for the dressing. Her dressing had body to it, it wasn't that smooth kind and everyone loved it. She only used salt, pepper and sage or poultry seasoning, sometimes a bit of both. But she broke up the cornbread and left it slightly chunky, she tore up the biscuits into maybe 1" pieces. She added the cooked onion and celery (being just slightly soft) oh and she cooked them in a stick of butter, so when she added it to the breads, in went the butter. She added her raw eggs, spices and mixed it up and put into her baking metal pan (because we like the edges slightly browned and crisp)....I'm getting hungry thinking about it now. Thank you for your recipe ❤
My mother always used a hen and broth for dressing. I live in Texas and never called it stuffing! She also used biscuits, cornbread and white bread. We didn’t use sage!
@@cmills53 Sounds like my mom’s dressing. She would not make it without a hen; not a fryer. We also didn’t use sage . I use a little of my dressing in my gravy to thicken it and makes it blend with the taste of the dressing.
I have never seen eggs in gravy. We here in Louisiana use spices in our dishes. Of all of the different shows I watch from all parts of the country I am amazed how little if any spices others use.
What a blessing for your son and your family. Our prayers also go to the family that suffered a loss and gave him the gift of prolonged life. God Bless.
Thank you, Diane, for your wonderful recipes, your positive attitude, and your love for the Lord. As a busy teacher at a Christian school on Chicago's north shore, you have given me some great meal ideas! Blessings to you, sister in Christ.
Wonderful story of family and God love. And when your son woke up with a new heart on his birthday I am sure his family also got a new heart, each!!! Praise to our soon coming King!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
WOW MEME that was an absolute shocker! I am so happy to hear that your son is doing well. Yes only the Lord can orchestrate such a miracle. Much love to you and to your family. Your videos are so joyful and so down to earth. Keep them going. You are fantastic!
From a Memaw to a Meme. God is great!! My husband recently had a liver transplant due to a very rare form of cancer. I finished decorating for Thanksgiving today and crying g happy tears for this very blessed season. God knows our needs before we do. Keeping your family in our prayers and also the organ donor family even though we don't know who they are. Wishing you a great and blessed Thanksgiving From St Louis Missouri
MeMe I love your channel, but mostly I love your sweet tender spirit! The Lord is evident in u even over the air! God Bless u. Your cooking is so like mine and my sweet Mammas😊. Thank u!
My Mammaw loved cornbread, she made it in a cast iron skillet with a little bacon grease in the bottom, and fried the crust😊 when she was much older, and getting to the point where, she wasn’t eating alot, I’d make a skillet of cornbread, she’d take all the brown, crunchy crust off of it, and eat that in a bowl of milk🤣😂🤣 leaving me with a crustless hunk of yellow cornbread….. what I wouldn’t give to make another pan for her….. I love your recipes, Miss Diane, and I’m so thankful I found you💕
I’m new to the channel and I’m so grateful for the blessings your family had. Only God can do what happened. I love your accent. I have family members from SC and it just makes me smile. My grandmother was from Bishopsville, SC. I’ve been in NC my entire life and all the food on here just takes me back to my grandma’s kitchen. I’m also very proud of the doctors and surgeons at The Sanger Clinic in Charlotte. Wonderful group of people. May God continue to bless you this year and the New Year, 2025. 🙏🏼😍
I also use some cream of chicken soup in my dressing. Got started back in the 70’s when I didn’t have enough chicken broth and back then the only thing open on Thanksgiving was a convenience store and they didn’t have chicken broth but did have cream of chicken soup. Turned out so good I kept doing it.
Looks wonderful we should all be more grateful God is so good we take God for granted in this big country filled with abundance thanks for reminding me ❤
MeMe you are a precious lady! You remind me of my sweet grandmother who has been gone 30 years! Oh how I miss her so, seeing you has brought back wonderful memories! Hope you and your family are doing well this Thanksgiving! May God continue to bless you! Laurie
How wonderful that your son could have the opportunity to extend his life......some are not so fortunate so happy that you all are so thankful. Hope he has many many more years to be with his family!
Meme, so glad you shared the information about your son! Praise our Lord and Saviour for his goodness and love!!! Here are my prayers for your son’s continued health!!!
What a beautiful story. I was hoping to hear about how thankful you are to the donor family. I know you are so thankful as it shows in your storytelling, but please remember the family that lost so very much. What an amazing gift they gave to your son.
Cornbread reminds me of my mom and nana(they made the best cornbread). Prayers for your son and also to the family who list their loved one for the transplant.
I just love you! I unfortunately never had the luxury or growing up with my grandmother's and cooking in the kitchen. I'm 39 now and love nothing more than getting in the kitchen and sharing with family. Not just on the holidays but all year long. Thank you for the videos and making me feel like a part of your family!❤ - Cindy from Georgia
That is one fabulous feast you put together, ma’am. I imagine it was better to eat than it looks even. Thank you for sharing your family’s story. You are a blessing to them and to us who visit you.
Praise God for your son's heart transplant! We have so much to be thankful for. Thank you for sharing. Praying for continued blessings for you and your sweet family.
I could drink Giblet Gravy!! We also don't use the Giblets, but one thing my mom does to thicken is add a scoop or two of the cooked dressing, omgosh it's so good!
I don't know how old the show was that I just watched where you made dressing but I just wanted to tell you what a blessing it was to me. I started watching to find out how to make giblet gravy which I did at the end but when you shared about your son receiving a new heart when he woke up on his birthday and then you continued with the rest of the story I was so in awe of the blessings God bestowed on your family and in such perfect timing and perfect healing afterward. Isn't God wonderful. I was so happy that I just happened to click on your video for it did my heart so much good to watch and listen to your story and look into your eyes as you told it. It was just what I needed today. I have a large computer at my desk that is a touch screen that is very close to my face so it was as if we were in the same room with each other. Anyway, I don't know if you will get this but I hope so. I just pray that your son and his family are continuing to thrive with God's care.
How do I get your cook book?I love watching your UA-cam videos! I too am very grateful for the many blessings that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have blessed me with. Countless, but especially my family!
Variety is the spice of life! It is amazing just how things are done differently (even in the South, as I was born, raised and lived in North Carolina all my life), where, especially dressing is concerned. My family would never use cornbread (only biscuits or hoecake baked and then refrigerated and then ground up) and we would not use any box broth. Rather we only use the broth from the turkey or hen, but then that would have to be done the day of the meal. We find it to be the best, at least that is our preference and everyone has different likes. I appreciate all you do and the way you make things so clear and easy for those who are just starting to get in the kitchen. It is a shame that at least an entire generation really has not had the opportunity to learn to cook or even eat GOOD meals. Bless you always!
So true. My recipes are mostly for those in a hurry or are pushed for time. They are simple, easy to make, and most ingredients you already have in your kitchen. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe.🙂❤️
God bless your son and may he continue to heal as the years go by. So I’m sure that’s the reason you used the unsalted broth …you had said you would get to the reason why you were using the unsalted chicken broth. Thank you for sharing the many blessings god has given your family. I’m an organ donor. Thank you for asking others to consider being an organ donor. God is so good ❤️🙏🏻❤️. This was back in 2022 ?. I’m praying his health is improving each and everyday. God Bless your family. Thank you for always sharing your great recipes. God Bless you 🙏🏻😇
I live about 45 minutes from Charlotte. So thankful your son is doing well. We usually use Pepperidge farm stuffing mix or cornbread cubes. We sauté our celery and onions before mixing them in. My mom loves sage in it. My Daddy made it with premade cornbread a few times, but if he had cornbread ready he ate it. He would crumble it up in a big glass of buttermilk with some salt and pepper and go to town. My Grandaddy loved cracklins in his, but Daddy would just put a few pieces of fat back on the pan before he poured it in. We make the gravy the same way except we slice the boiled eggs. It has rings. My nephew could eat his weight in rice and gravy. I am so glad I found you. We lost Dad in 2021 and we always loved cooking and watching cooking shows. He would have loved you. I love how much of your recipes are the same or very close. Hope y’all have a great week!
My mom passed away unexpectedly about 12 years ago. She was a country girl born and raised in North Carolina. She made the best dressing and giblet gravy. Sadly none of us had ever learned how to make her dressing prior to her leaving us. Much of what you are doing in your recipe seems familiar to the little bit I did observe here and there as she made her dressing, so I am anxious to try this. If it is about the same I will be a hero in my family :) Love watching your show.
I'm from Wisconsin, and it's so fun to watch these southern recipes. Different from mine, my mom's and grandma's. Not better..not worse just different. Love it all
What an adorable little boy. So cute! Diane, that is so like God to provide your son with a new heart and on those specific dates. God is faithful! So glad your son is doing fine. What a blessing! Have a blessed Thanksgiving in 2023! 🙏🏻
Meme ...you are just adorable! You are so caring, thoughtful and genuine! I love your accent....I could listen to you talk for hours on end! You are a true southern belle! Your cooking videos are so diverse and the recipes seem pretty easy. The food you prepare looks incredibly delicious and at the end of a lot of your videos, when you show the entire meal laid out on your side counter, I always find myself wishing I was the first one in line! Not only for the scrumptious food, but for the fellowship with your loving family. My sister and I are the only family we have now....everyone else has passed. So when I watch your videos, I get warm memories of my own family and it makes me smile. I am very happy your son is doing well! I know he will continue to flourish! As will all of your family. I will be making your stuffing and gravy recipe (I do not care for sage or giblets at all) and when my sister and I sit down to eat it, I will think of you. You are truly an inspiration. Best wishes for a very Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving! God Bless You All!
What a wonderful testimony of God’s grace. He had your son in the palm of His hands and Blessed your family with miracles that only He can provide. Thank you for sharing your story. It filled my heart with joy. May God continue to heal your son. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. 🥰❤️🙏🙏🙏
My Mama always used sage in her dressing. And we always liked it but it gave us heartburn. So maybe we'll try the poultry seasoning this year and maybe give the Tums a break.
Thank you so much for sharing about your sons transplant, I am so happy he is doiing well and can enjoy his family and life. God is good to us all the time. Your testimony was appreciated. Loved the video, you make dressing a lot like I do. I will share a time saver with you, chunk your cornbread and put it in the food processor, it will crumble it fine in seconds. Thanks again.
I needed a gravy recipe to go with dressing. New to your channel, and I know you said you're from South Carolina, but you cook like my Alabama family. Looking forward to trying. Wish I could be at your Sunday dinners.
Vintage measuring spoon set...oh my heart. I have the same from my grandmother. Just the sound makes me happy and hungry. 🥰Glad to have found your channel. Joyful and educational.
I don't know why she did it, but my mother always fried her celery and onions in butter on the stove before she mixed it. I don't know why, but man smelling that early in the morning was Thanksgiving for us!
Ms. Diane, my grandmother used to make Watergate salad for nearly every holiday meal. Wishing you and your family and abundantly blessed Thanksgiving.❤
Looks great! We do the bread dressing with celery, onion, egg, salt, pepper, butter, and broth. Also, excellent. We call it dressing because we don't usually stuff it. We just put it around the bird to soak up all the delicious broth. Or prepare in a separate dish.
We do the bread dressing the same with sage and poultry seasoning and add cooked bob Evan's sausage with sage.this is similar to the way my grandma made it. She never wrote down recipes.

Bless You and yours, so uplifting when I see someone give thanks to Our Lord
MeMe, I'm a new subscriber in South Carolina and God lead me to your channel. We all know God doesn't make mistakes. As I listened to your story about your son, tears of joy filled my eyes. I've climbed many mountains myself with Jesus lighting my path. It's because of Thee that I keep walking on my journey here. I am so happy for your you, your son and your whole family. Indeed God did Bless y'all this Thanksgiving. I will pray that he keeps getting stronger with each new day. God is good all of the time ! Hallelujah 🙌. I'm gonna try your dressing. I pretty much make mine the same way but haven't made it in yrs.I'm alone but I hope God puts someone in my path that would enjoy some too. God Bless y'all always in all ways. 🙏
@@memesrecipessc You're very welcome Meme. I'm a Mimi too..I have 11 great grands who call me Mimi. My grands call me Mema. Thank you and God Bless you too 🙏 ♥
Totally agree! I’ve lived in Alabama my whole life and of course, I was very biased about my mama’s cooking. She also made the best chicken and dressing to me. I never heard of anyone using stove top stuffing until I went to visit friends in Indiana few years back, especially for their dressing. I guess we all do and cook how we was raised. Then there is the cornbread being made out of a box. Don’t get me started on the jiffy mix😂😂😂 I have never 😂
I always make homemade dressing ( not cornbread) , homemade noodles, homemade gravy, homemade pie, homemade sourdough bread, homemade everything! I guess I do everyday. My MiMi taught me well.
Thank you so much for sharing your talent and your faith. My mom died last year at age 96 and the holidays are just not the same without her. Watching your video and listening to your calm and reassuring voice is a comfort.
MeMe knows what she's doing. That's how you make dressing, not the bread crumbs. I loved how she snickered at the family members who like "chunks of vegetables" in their dressing😅😅😅😅You the boss, MeMe❤
I am so happy to have found you Ms Diane☺️💐‼️I have binge watching your videos at night and it’s like being in the kitchen with my own grandma (also called “Mimi”& also from the Carolinas) who raised me. Your content warms my heart and also jars my memory and I’m making old favorites like dressing & gravy. I feel certain I can impress my daughters with an old family favorite dish of my grandma’s following your recipes 🙏🏼
Every Sunday at your house is like Thanksgiving, MeMe! You’re amazing! I think I’m doing wonderful if I make one meat and two vegetables and no reservations. 😂 I’m 66 y/o and it took me 65 to perfect my homemade rolls. Yes, I am an organ donor and think it’s a great idea. So happy your son is doing well and that baby is gorgeous!
Praise God Praise God!!! God is Good all the time. Like you said we have so much to be thankful for. Your son is a miracle from the Lord & has a new lease on life. Totally awesome. Will continue to keep him in Prayer. God has his heart and his back!!. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I sauté onion, celery , bell pepper and Owen’s sausage. I also add both poultry seasoning and sage. Yum!

Poultry seasoning contains sage
Oh, nutmeg as well 😊
Edit: a word
Meme I love you! I found you a few weeks ago and you absolutely make my day. I want to share my grandmother's tips on her giblet gravy. She would put a healthy tablespoon of dressing (before it had been baked) into her chicken broth. We add boiled eggs and chopped chicken livers (I don't care for gizzards!). The dressing provides the thickening element. Yumm. Thank you for brining your sunshine to the world. You are exactly why I am proud to be a Southern woman. Have a great day. Shine for Jesus!!
What a great tip!! Thank you for sharing... and thank you for watching! Welcome to my kitchen!
My grandmother did the same thing! Plus a slurry of a little cornmeal mixed with milk, but only a little. She used mostly dressing. 🥰
I have never heard of putting eggs in gravy! I was a little shocked. Lol! I’ll have to try it sometime. TFS
I never heard of putting eggs in gravy either 🤔 It looks chunky to me. I'm used to thick & creamy gravy but I will try it. 😋 Thank you for sharing! ❤
It’s called goblet gravy. But not everyone uses the giblets. It’s kinda like a modified goblet gravy. Lol
My father puts eggs in his gravy also. Always delicious.
I'm the exact same
Same. saute' veggies, homemade broth, no sage.
I do the same, sauté the onions and celery in butter. I use salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, poultry seasoning, garlic powder and onion powder. ❤
Where can I get your cookbook?

What a wonderful story of your son. May God Bless his continued health.
Thank you😋…thanks for watching and please subscribe.
You are sweet!! God bless you!
Thank you for your sweet comment! And thank you so much for watching!!
Prayers for your son to continue doing well with his new heart. What a wonderful miracle.
@ bless you! And thank you for your prayers! ❤️🙏🏻
That’s exactly how my mother made hers! It’s like you read it off of her recipe card! 🥰
Oh My! Thank you! Someone else that cooks the veggies with the chicken for the broth! Sounds close to my Mama’s!
My mother always used a hen and broth for dressing. I live in Texas and never called it stuffing! She also used biscuits, cornbread and white bread. We didn’t use sage!
Praise God for a successful surgery. 🙏✝️
@@cmills53
Sounds like my mom’s dressing.
I grew up with very few choices but salt and pepper. It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks 😂
In tears . So glad for your son and your family. Bless you .
Thank you so much!❤️
What a blessing for your son and your family. Our prayers also go to the family that suffered a loss and gave him the gift of prolonged life. God Bless.
Thank you for the prayers... he is almost 2 years out and doing well!
Thank you, Diane, for your wonderful recipes, your positive attitude, and your love for the Lord. As a busy teacher at a Christian school on Chicago's north shore, you have given me some great meal ideas! Blessings to you, sister in Christ.
Yay!! That is my goal... to help busy people put a meal on the table! God bless you ... teachers have a hard job!
Wonderful story of family and God love. And when your son woke up with a new heart on his birthday I am sure his family also got a new heart, each!!! Praise to our soon coming King!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Blessings to you and your family, MeMe! I am so happy that I found your channel! Thank YOU for sharing your recipes with us! - Mark P.
Welcome to my kitchen. Thank you for watching!! I love sharing a good recipe.
WOW MEME that was an absolute shocker! I am so happy to hear that your son is doing well. Yes only the Lord can orchestrate such a miracle. Much love to you and to your family. Your videos are so joyful and so down to earth. Keep them going. You are fantastic!
Thanks so much!

❤️🙂😋
From a Memaw to a Meme. God is great!! My husband recently had a liver transplant due to a very rare form of cancer. I finished decorating for Thanksgiving today and crying g happy tears for this very blessed season. God knows our needs before we do. Keeping your family in our prayers and also the organ donor family even though we don't know who they are. Wishing you a great and blessed Thanksgiving From St Louis Missouri
Thank you so much!! I wish all of you a very happy Thanksgiving also!!🙏🏻❤️🙂
A true Southern Lady.
MeMe I love your channel, but mostly I love your sweet tender spirit! The Lord is evident in u even over the air! God Bless u. Your cooking is so like mine and my sweet Mammas😊. Thank u!
God bless. A wonderful story. You're a blessing in my life since I've found you. I love you.
I love your recipes, Miss Diane, and I’m so thankful I found you💕
Thanks for watching and please subscribe.
Thanks so much.🙂❤️🙏🏻
Looks yummy! My mother started adding cream of chicken in hers throughout the years. Made it nice and rich
Looks wonderful we should all be more grateful God is so good we take God for granted in this big country filled with abundance thanks for reminding me ❤
MeMe, I'm so glad to hear that you're son is doing well. God bless you and your family. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos.
MeMe you are a precious lady! You remind me of my sweet grandmother who has been gone 30 years! Oh how I miss her so, seeing you has brought back wonderful memories! Hope you and your family are doing well this Thanksgiving! May God continue to bless you! Laurie
Thank you so much!!! Blessings to you as well!
How wonderful that your son could have the opportunity to extend his life......some are not so fortunate so happy that you all are so thankful. Hope he has many many more years to be with his family!
Thank you... he is doing great!
Praise God for your son❤❤❤. Thank you for sharing your wonderful testimony
You are so welcome! 🙂❤️
I love your cooking. Praying for your son. 🙏🏼
Thank you so much
Meme, so glad you shared the information about your son! Praise our Lord and Saviour for his goodness and love!!! Here are my prayers for your son’s continued health!!!
Amen! And thank you!
This Dressing and Gravy recipe looks so delicious 😋Ms. Diane.
What a beautiful story. I was hoping to hear about how thankful you are to the donor family. I know you are so thankful as it shows in your storytelling, but please remember the family that lost so very much. What an amazing gift they gave to your son.
❤️
Cornbread reminds me of my mom and nana(they made the best cornbread). Prayers for your son and also to the family who list their loved one for the transplant.
I just love you! I unfortunately never had the luxury or growing up with my grandmother's and cooking in the kitchen. I'm 39 now and love nothing more than getting in the kitchen and sharing with family. Not just on the holidays but all year long.
Thank you for the videos and making me feel like a part of your family!❤
- Cindy from Georgia
That is awesome!🙂❤️
That is one fabulous feast you put together, ma’am. I imagine it was better to eat than it looks even. Thank you for sharing your family’s story. You are a blessing to them and to us who visit you.
Thank you so much 🤗
Praise God for your son's heart transplant! We have so much to be thankful for. Thank you for sharing. Praying for continued blessings for you and your sweet family.
Thank you so much!
I’ve never seen gravy with eggs in it before. My mother always used Wondra flour. It comes in a cardboard canister. Congratulations!
It's so good!
I’ve never heard of making gravy that way and we always use green onions celery and bell pepper bar dressing
I could drink Giblet Gravy!! We also don't use the Giblets, but one thing my mom does to thicken is add a scoop or two of the cooked dressing, omgosh it's so good!
My grandmother, rest her soul, would occasionally put a few slices of egg in the gravy. It's a southern thing I'm sure!
Never heard of putting eggs in gravy. Interesting.
I’m so glad it touched your heart. 🙏 My son is 3 years out and doing great. Thank you for joining me in my kitchen!
Never in my life heard of eggs in gravy! Learn something new every day😊
Hope you enjoy
Yes, my mother used to do that.
How do I get your cook book?I love watching your UA-cam videos! I too am very grateful for the many blessings that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have blessed me with. Countless, but especially my family!
I put egg in my gravy also n some pimentos just for coloring
My mother always chopped up a boil egg into the gravy.
What a blessing!! God is good...all the time.
Sanger is the best heart group ever😊
🙌🏼❤️
What an amazing testimony! Love your videos ❤❤
@@memesrecipessc I am already subscribed.
God Bless you 🙏🏻😇
He is doing great!!! Thank you... we have been incredibly blessed.

So wonderful to hear 💗
so glad to hear about your son. God is so good. Needed that testimony ty
Your food is wonderful and you always make me smile. Thank you mamm
So enjoyed your time you shared with everyone God is so good what a wonderful story!!
I just ordered your cookbook. Can't wait to get it!! I'm so happy I stumbled onto your channel a few days ago 😀
Thank you!! : )
The same for me.
Thank you!!
Thanks for watching!!
No regular bread or biscuits mixed with cornmeal
I'm from Wisconsin, and it's so fun to watch these southern recipes. Different from mine, my mom's and grandma's. Not better..not worse just different. Love it all
Thanks for watching and please subscribe!!🙂
Dressing and gravy are the beat part of thanksgiving.
Looks so delicious.
Thank you🙏👍⚘️have a Blessed day
What an adorable little boy. So cute! Diane, that is so like God to provide your son with a new heart and on those specific dates. God is faithful! So glad your son is doing fine. What a blessing! Have a blessed Thanksgiving in 2023! 🙏🏻
Just found this channel, so glad I did. Thank you very much. Bless your family.❤
Welcome!!
Thanks so much for sharing. Thanks for watching and please subscribe.❤️
Meme, you are such a lovely lady! I just love your southern accent!! Butta!! Love your show…
What a wonderful testimony of God’s grace. He had your son in the palm of His hands and Blessed your family with miracles that only He can provide. Thank you for sharing your story. It filled my heart with joy. May God continue to heal your son. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. 🥰❤️🙏🙏🙏
Thank you!!🙏🏻❤️🙂
Yes, you are so right about sage. No sage in our dressing either!
My Mama always used sage in her dressing. And we always liked it but it gave us heartburn. So maybe we'll try the poultry seasoning this year and maybe give the Tums a break.
@@jennifersanford5936I'm pretty sure poultry seasoning almost always contains sage. It must be the proportion of sage to the other herbs.
Sage is the pro dominant seasoning in Poultry Seasoning. I think she meant to say some southern cooks only use Sage.
You are so welcome!🙂😋
I needed a gravy recipe to go with dressing. New to your channel, and I know you said you're from South Carolina, but you cook like my Alabama family. Looking forward to trying. Wish I could be at your Sunday dinners.
Vintage measuring spoon set...oh my heart. I have the same from my grandmother. Just the sound makes me happy and hungry. 🥰Glad to have found your channel. Joyful and educational.
So glad you have joined me with something I love!
I don't know why she did it, but my mother always fried her celery and onions in butter on the stove before she mixed it. I don't know why, but man smelling that early in the morning was Thanksgiving for us!
Oh wow!
My mother also sautéed the celery and onion in butter before mixing it into the dressing. I have always done it that way too.
Yes, I do as well. It does remind me of Thanksgiving. 🦃@@kathy.7475
Sauté onion & celery.
My Gram did too.
Ms. Diane, my grandmother used to make Watergate salad for nearly every holiday meal. Wishing you and your family and abundantly blessed Thanksgiving.❤
It’s a fave!
Looks great! We do the bread dressing with celery, onion, egg, salt, pepper, butter, and broth. Also, excellent.
We call it dressing because we don't usually stuff it. We just put it around the bird to soak up all the delicious broth. Or prepare in a separate dish.
Sounds great!
I also make the bread dressing
We cook ours outside the bird as well. Why did it never occur to me to put it in the roaster, around the bird?! I’m trying that - great idea!
@@cheribecerra9046 yes we keep turning it and stirring it until it has the perfect proportion of wet versus crunchy. Yum
We do the bread dressing the same with sage and poultry seasoning and add cooked bob Evan's sausage with sage.this is similar to the way my grandma made it. She never wrote down recipes.
Bless You and yours, so uplifting when I see someone give thanks to Our Lord
Love watching Christian cooking shows. ❤

You are a precious lady but I don’t make my dressing like you…..it’s so funny how even Southern cooks make their dressing differently ❤️❤️
Variety is the spice of life!
Don’t get me started on the jiffy mix😂😂😂 I have never 😂
Prayers for continued healing and Yes God is good ❤ Love your recipes and your Southern accent!!
Thank you!!🙂
I always make homemade dressing ( not cornbread) , homemade noodles, homemade gravy, homemade pie, homemade sourdough bread, homemade everything! I guess I do everyday. My MiMi taught me well.
Wow!!! That is awesome!
Thank you for sharing your son’s heart transplant story. God is good and worthy of our praise❣️ 🙌🏻
Absolutely!!🙌🏻🙏🏻❤️
Boiled eggs in gravy! Never heard of that before.
Thank you sweet lady . You are a genius for sharing. I love your sweet spirit while your cooking or baking. ❤
Let’s also pray and be thankful her for the family that donated that heart to him.
Yes!!🙏🏻❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your talent and your faith. My mom died last year at age 96 and the holidays are just not the same without her. Watching your video and listening to your calm and reassuring voice is a comfort.
❤️🙏🏻🙂
MeMe knows what she's doing. That's how you make dressing, not the bread crumbs. I loved how she snickered at the family members who like "chunks of vegetables" in their dressing😅😅😅😅You the boss, MeMe❤
🤣🙂😋❤️
God bless your son and your whole family. Thank you for your delicious recipes and words of wisdom. Happy Thanksgiving.🦃🍁 ❤
