I will forever be grateful for the tip of grating the onion. I have two children with autism that cannot stand the texture of onion but like the taste. Your tip will be well used in our household. Thank you thank you!
You cook like my mom GOd bless you
My daughter never liked onions when I made meatloaf, now you know you got to have onions in meatloaf so I grated them and you couldn't even tell the onions was in there🌞
I TOTALLY agree!!! 🥰
Thank you
You have 2 on the spectrum and NOW you learned you can grate onions. Stop watching UA-cam mom's(morons). Listen to your kids drs'
6:10 "Mix it with our other ingredients and let them all get acquainted here with one another". She never fails to put a smile to my face.
That is so true. She makes you feel right at home, I really enjoy the time I spend with her. 😍
I love that, too!
Love her!
So cute! It's like some ingredients are customers, some are escorts.
I love that phrase!!!
She's so precious; this is my first time seeing this page. My favorite part was when she said, "this is for young mothers," that blessed me. There's something so special about the older generation taking their time to teach the younger generation. God Bless
🙂
@@PlasmaStorm73 I didn't know that, but I love that too, and that's awesome! She's so cute.
And Meme is doing exactly what the Bible says:
Tit us 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
Tit 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
I thought the same thing. How precious.
I am 64 years old and was blessed to have 2 Southern grandmas with me for a long time.. I miss them, I miss hanging out in their kitchen.. Thank you MeMe for letting me hang out with you and take me back in time 20 years. ( yes, I had them both a long time. thank you God. )
Wonderful memories.👍🏻🙂❤️
A hobby I enjoyed in my pre-retirement years was collecting favorite casserole recipes from family/friends. So glad I did, too as one co-worker shared hers. Shockingly she died suddenly at age 37. When her daughter got a bit older, I gave her mother's recipe in her original handwriten format. Her dau was so grateful as it was one of the family's favorite recipe (which her mother had not writen down) and dau cried, too, as it was in her mom's hand writing. I get teary-eyed when I remember dear Sandy.
Would you share recipe please like what was it for? Also any other favorites
That’s fantastic ❤
This happened to me too once. It was such a joy to see my mom's writing. I treasure it.
Thanks for sharing. My mom passed away September 15, 2021 and I have things that she has written that I am keeping because I lov3 looking at her writing. Very sentimental
Love that! I'm going to have to do that
MeMe, you are a treasure! 💜 from a new subscriber. “Shine for Jesus!” I am going to tell myself that throughout the day.
You are kind! I say that so I will remember too!! : ) Thank you for watching and subscribing! Welcome to my kitchen.
MeMe - I can understand why you have a utube channel! I’m guessing you’re daughter strongly encouraged you to share your recipes AND your stories! You’re a great story teller as well! Your cooking reminds me of my Aunt Esther. She had these recipes that were handed down to her and man she could cook!! So thank you for sharing your recipes and your wonderful stories!! Gods blessings 😇!
Thank you Ms MeMe I so enjoy your recipes and your wonderful stories. I bet your family will always remember the feather story. Laughter is the best !! 😂❤ don’t you know. God Bless you for doing this wonderfully enjoyable UTube videos.
Your a precious grandma, I’m a new subscriber and am looking forward to seeing more of your videos
amen
MeMe if you’re looking to adopt another granddaughter, i am here! You are absolutely lovely. ❤
I made this recipe last night using a half a package of the wide noodles and just over a pound of hamburger meat. My wife and I have always liked onion so I just chopped a half a small onion and added it instead of grating it. Used a half jar of Cheese Whiz but decided to add a drained can of diced tomatoes. Wanted a little something extra. Turned out great. I was surprised at how the wide pasta noodles added to the recipe as opposed to macaroni or spaghetti noodles. (Note: I've been doing the cooking for several years now because of my wife's health issues.) Always looking for new recipes. This one is another keeper recipe. Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Did I miss the degrees of the oven?

6:15 “Let them all (ingredients) get acquainted!” Thank you MeMe!
Thanks for watching!
Bless you for being generous to those college students! I remember what an incredible treat it was when my roommates brought back "real homemade" food from home. It was like Christmas! Lol
nothing like some "comfort" food when you are homesick! : )
Oh my goodness, she is the real deal. Listen to that beautiful accent. “Flava!” “Featha!” This is like being with my mother again!❤
🤗
My mother and Grandmother!
You are just the most adorable woman. Keep cooking for us, Ms. MeMe!!!
That man with the gravy shows us that we should always be humble because we never know what might happen
MeMe, as a grand mother, you make it a joy to show love to your family through cooking. Thank you.
Cooking is my love language!
U are wonderful i love how u approach your cooking with love and patients

I just love this woman's delightful conversation
You are kind. Thanks for joining me in the kitchen!
We tried the hamburger casserole Saturday night. It was a hit ! Every one raved over it. Thank you for sharing the recipe. My mother and I love watching you. The way you cook is a lot like the way we cook here in Tennessee. Anyway just keep posting your videos. We love you ! Remember shine for Jesus ❤
Did you use lean or 80/20 percent meat/fat ratio
I just love listening and watching you cook you make it look so easy!
Same here😊❤️❤️
I made this tonight for me & hubs with 1/2 package of egg noodles, 1 pound of ground beef fried with 1/2 chopped onion & garlic, a can of mushroom soup and the WHOLE jar of cheese whiz. It was FABULOUS! YUM! Thank you for sharing!
Sounds great!
Meme you’re so beautiful! I miss my Grandmother every single day. Watching you cook was so fun and made me feel like I’d spent time with her. 💗
Thank you so much❤️
I feel the same way...reminds me so much of cooking with my grandma!!❤❤❤
I couldn't agree more! I could watch and listen to this sweet Lady all day long! 🌻
A Canadian woman here, I love that you follow the Royal Family❤❤❤❤❤❤
Millions of Americans are fascinated with the Royals….including me!
We love them. Sending big prayers for the Princess of Wales.
“ Not sure if I’d get my casserole dish back” 🤣🤣🥰

MADE IT: I doctored it up a bit with a package of Lipton Onion Soup mix, couple dashes of garlic powder, about a good 2 tablespoons of parsley flakes and a half bag of frozen peas.
I also made a really big batch (because I’m feeding 6 grown men and 2 little kids) so I used 3 pounds of ground beef and 2 bags of egg noodles, plus 1 can of cream of onion soup (w/garlic) and 1 can of cream of celery (by accident).
I topped the whole thing off with some seasoned breadcrumbs that I mixed with a couple teaspoons of softened margarine and sprinkled on top of the cheese and put it under the broiler for the last 5 minutes or so to brown the breadcrumbs.
It turned out great and all the men ate every single bit of it!!
Thanks for the basic steps - I appreciated it very much!!
God Bless
I made this recipe tonight and we LOVE it. My daddy (he’s 82) and I love your videos. My mother passed in 2015 and you cook a lot like she did we are in Northeast Alabama.
Darling MeMe, this is my first time on your cooking site. You are so precious. Two things… 1. I love that you make “familiar” recipes. 2. I love love love that you don’t make your viewers wait through the entire cooking of the food. You show enough of the process so we understand what you’re doing, and then it’s “be right back!”.
Thank you so much for watching. Please subscribe.👍🏻🙂❤️
Grandma is such a ham! 😂She just loves being in front of the camera! She is so sweet! I love her!!
This lady always looks so nice! I bet she smells amazing ❤
Yes she does...always put together
@@dr.jackiesanderlin5223 Is it just me, or does she slightly resemble Judy Garland?
Yes!!
@@monkeygraborange she looks JUST like her! It's the first thing I thought while watching her videos!
Ill bet she wears Roses, Roses by Avon!
Omg the feather story is hilarious!! I love to hear her stories and watch her cook. She's so genuine. ❤
Thank you!!🤭😋🙂❤️
When you said “this is for the young mothers” I immediately subscribed!! I have 2 small children and been in such a dinner rut, trying to come up with some easy and cheap dinner ideas. Thank you for sharing I’m excited to make this meal for my family! God bless you 🤍✝️
Thanks for watching!!
Mrs. MeMe, thank you for the great recipe today, I'm brand new to your channel and want you to know how much I enjoyed your way, and voice and story. I no longer have family left to spend this special time with but you make people feel at "home" and so comfortable. You know you really had me smiling with memories of the kind that only families seem to share together. My mom and I especially would get each other in trouble with laughter at more serious situations. Most seem to happen in church as we struggled not to laugh, even seated apart we would glance at each other with downcast eyes and crackup! Thanks for reminding me of those days!
Quiet places make it so hard to stifle laughter!! : ) I don't think you and I could sit together. Thank you for your nice comment and thank you for watching!
Awe She’s just so adorable! I love it when she talks about her casserole dishes. Such a sweet lady ❤
I just found your channel yesterday and I am dellghted. I have watched so any of your recipes already and just can't get enough. I want to make every one of them. I'm having trouble figuring out how to print them out. I can relate to you in loving to cook , but I could never do as much as you. I too am a widow and will. be 84 in August. I am fascinated with your accent,. Like you, I love to cook for my family. God bless you my new southern friend.
The printed versions are in my cookbooks. Thanks for watching and please subscribe.😋🙂❤️🙏🏻
❤ You Warm My Soul🥰. Shine for Jesus💯
If you leave out the cheese and add a little Worcestershire sauce, sliced mushrooms & sour cream, you'd have an easy beef stroganoff!
That’s exactly what I was thinking! Looks yummy this way too, can’t wait to try it!! Thank you!❤
I made this for Sunday dinner at Dad's this last week My two kids loved it so easy to make and taste wonderful Just like MeMe said it would I served it with Mashed Potatoes Corn on the cob and a nice Kale salad and some fresh fruit . The kids are still bragging about this meal And the lest overs was even better the next day .
Good old comfort food💖
Mmm mashed potatoes excellent suggestion
I LOVE your presentation. I LOVED your comments and story content. I felt I should be sipping tea, and helping with the dishes. THANK YOU for the smiles.
Thanks for watching and please subscribe!!🙂
I'll tell you, listening to this woman talk is good medicine for whatever may ail you. Will I ever get around to cooking this? I don't know. Sometimes spending a few minutes with someone like this means the world to those of us who don't have much family left and those who you have don't have a kind word to say to you.
Thank you for your kind words!! Welcome to my kitchen!!
My precious Dad used to put water in the skillet when browning meat and my Mom just hated that! 😆 I tried it both ways over the years and found that the water really does do any recipe good!❤
Love your recipes and stories!! I am definitely going to make this casserole. Thanks
I had a cherry cheesecake buckle like the man with the gravy. It was at work and had been brought in by a co-worker who I was on the outs with. I still believe she thought I did it on purpose! Can't wait to make this casserole, it's our kind of meal. Thank you for being so entertaining.
🤭🤣😋🙂❤️
I find myself watching these even when I already know how to make the recipe. I just find your voice so soothing.
Thanks so much 😊
❤❤❤❤
You could easily throw in a package of broccoli cuts, a couple of grated carrots, etc. and have a one dish meal with vegetables included.
Go for it!
@@memesrecipessc Great idea, thanks!
@@tracyadelizzi6831 Ooo…peas and carrots, pearl onions and mushrooms would be delicious.
No peas. 🤢
I may add frozen mixed vegetables.
Love MeMe’s last bit of advice “Shine for Jesus” yes Ma’am, will do😊
You can tell mimi was a gorgeous lady back in the day. And still is and a wonderful cook.
Wow, thank you!!🙂❤️
I made this immediately after watching your video with only one pound of hamburger. Because of my husband's milk allergy, I made a couple of adjustments, such as using grated sheep cheese (moistened with a bit of mayonnaise instead of the Cheeze Whiz) and two cans of Campbell's Golden Mushroom soup instead of regular Mushroom Soup. Evidently, this is a very forgiving recipe because the result was absolutely delicious and good enough for company. Thanks for sharing this!
Wonderful!! Yes, please adjust and make it your own.😋👍🏻🙂❤️
Thank you so much Meme. You have been a blessing to me as I watch your videos. I’m happy I ran across you. Shine for Jesus brightens my day. God bless you.
This popped up on UA-cam, and I enjoyed watching. Glad I found you.
Me too!

I’m so glad you’re on UA-cam now! Most of your subscribers can’t say they’ve had your yummy cooking but I can! ❤ I was happy to see Ms Kathleen the other day too! I hope you’re doing well! ~Steph Collins Rhoades
Thank you so much!!
You say it how it is. I really just love the way your so direct. “ this is for young Mothers” was my favorite part you said to ensure this recipe is respected for all.
Thank you so much!
I love watching the grandma's cooking and techniques. You are just the sweetest. Just because it's old school doesn't mean it's bad. Just watch these videos and you be the judge. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, knowledge, and stories with us. Liked and subscribed to your channel.
Thank you so much👍🏻❤️
Thanks. I make a Hamburger Casserole with Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. I brown mild Italian sausage and then I brown my beef with onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt a little) and pepper. On another burner, I cook some frozen green beans. After mixing the Mac and cheese, I stir in the ground beef, Italian sausage, beans, and a can of DelMonte diced or stewed tomatoes with Italian seasoning into my Dutch oven covered, and bake on 350 for 45 minutes (we like it a little crunchy). Sometimes I add Carrow Way Seed when I'm mixing all the ingredients together.
Hello. How are you doing??
I never thought about grating onion into hamburger but it works so well. Thank you so much for the tip and recipe.
You are so welcome!
Miss MeMe, you are a hoot. I'll be making this casserole for dinner tomorrow night and I thank you for it. My husband has to have shots in his back and I need something delicious that I can pop in the oven and still tend to him after his appointment. It's perfect. I love your sweet and genteel stories and your heartwarming videos. Thank you.
yay... this casserole is super tasty!

I’ve been struggling to always figure out what to make for dinner. I cannot wait to try this! I’m hoping my husband and daughter will love it. 😊
I hope they do. My family loves it!!
I so enjoy your videos and hearing about your family! And your sweet daughter!
I'm here because you popped up in my recommendations. Thank you for a lovely and fun video. I did subscribe and now I'll get to go back and watch your previous videos. Thank you for the recipe and the life lesson - when MeMe says you put a pan under that flimsy tin foil dish, you better not turn your nose up thinking you know better. You might just wind up with your gravy and dignity all over the floor! 😅 Thank you again! Your friends from Southeast Texas ❤🇺🇸
LOL!! Speaking from LOTS of experience! Thank you for watching and subscribing!! Welcome to my kitchen.

I surely hope you have a second casserole to send to the boys because college boys can eat! When my college grandson comes home, my daughter says he eats everything in the house and she has to go to the store almost every day! Yes, those boys will wolf that pan down in 5 minutes! ❤
🤭🤣😋🙂❤️
Yes they will

Hope you enjoy
Love the recipes, love to hear you talk, enjoy watching your sweet sweet personality, thank u!
Thank you so much!
I have tried the cassaroe, it was delicious. I coojed it with one pound of lean ground beef, onions, and green beans. I live by myself, my husband passed away almost seven years ago, my daughters live far away...my grand children live faraway too with there parents. I still live in the same house that i grew up, my husband and i bought the house from my parents we fixed it up. The house is a three bedroom 1 1/2 bathroom living room, kitchen, eating area, small basement, and a one car garage that use to be my dad's work area/ repairs. My dad worked full time as a machine repair man. When he arrived home after dinner he would repair lawnmowers, snowmobiles, and snow blowers for the neighborhood. Yeppers our house was the regular hangout for repairs on the weekends. When my two brothers grew up it became a hang out for repairing friends cars.
I remember my mother would always fix meals in the kitchen to feed everybody that would bring in things to fix from small motors to big motors. Even toasters.
Those were the days. 👍🛴🚙🏍👌👍
What fond beautiful memories!! It would have been fun to be neighbors. Thank you for sharing and thank you for watching!
Meme, you are a joy. Thank you for your recipes and being you! 🌞🌞

You are so welcome!! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for everything Ms. Diane. God bless you all.
I love creamy dishes, but I can no longer have the dairy or fat. I'd like to share my Mom's hamburger casserole with you.
2 lbs ground beef, 1 onion, 1/4 cup ( or more to taste) bell pepper (I like to use the red and yellow), 1 jar mushrooms, 2 cloves garlic, black pepper, cayenne pepper, salt, and Italian seasoning to taste. Sauté these ingredients. Add 2 to 3 cans (14 oz each) diced tomatoes. Cook 8 oz of elbow macaroni and add to the meat mixture. Put in casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. I put grated cheese on the table for those who can eat cheese. Thanks for letting me share.
That's an old school goulash recipe(anglicized goulash) my mother made one quite similar right down to the jarred or canned mushrooms😂😂anyhoo i certainly had my share of this about once a month, my father liked it, our everyday standard dinner was Ribeye steak, rare/medium rare yum! Good tossed salad with my mom's excellent vinaigrette, she always sprinkled grated parmesan over and tossed it, baked potatoes with the classic fixings, sour cream, butter, chives, sometimes in the winter when chives weren't available (it was the 60's) we had rice pilaf...my dad would have that every night if mom let him but she craved variety and the exotic😂😂
Thank you!
I tried this recipe and it was very good. Thank you!
Miss MeMe, you never fail me. Always a wonderful delicious casserole. Yummmm. Thanks for sharing. Love ya. ♥️♥️
I am really enjoying watching your cooking videos! Thank you for taking the time to make them. I intend to bookmark and pocket some of your ideas for future meal ideas. Hearing your very practical and relatable way of cooking is comforting and almost like a warm hug from home. God bless you.
