His crew was responsible for the diapers on cars, the loosened toilets and the fucked up filter in the hot tub, and then sent letters to every hotel and convention space in washington. When someone gets arrested for sexual assault, someone gets arrested for regular assault, NO2 canisters are found littered around, soiled daipers are worn in the halls and thrown around on peoples cars and in the convention halls, gloryholes drilled in bathrooms for quick sex, rooms being hotboxed and hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage done to the place you have to admit that maybe, just maybe, the community you hosted is full of druggie sex addicted paraphilic perverts who don't know how to act in public.
Yeah, makes me sad they paint us this was, the whole event was just another massive bad cloud cast over the good people in our community all over again just like the CSI episode.
And now you understand why so many people are actively against furries. It doesn't matter if it's a minority. If you are loud enough, people will hear you and they will respond. Although in this case, this is an example of a large minority, like Genshin's toxic side. Yes 30%-40% is less than 70%-60%, thus making it a minority. Doesn't change the fact that 30%-40% is a huge chunk.
From what I understand the main issue was that the people in charge of the event were enablers who didn't want to restrict their guests from doing their thing, even if it was illegal or messed up. They would tell people don't do this and that but never enforce it and it might be because they believed their guests should have the freedom to act on their inner furry without restrictions like real animals in the wild.
That and, as other people pointed out, they would ignore the fact that most of these guys were banned from other furry cons, so much that this was the only convention that some these repeat offenders were allowed to attend
I heard the main problem with RainFurrest, was that a good amount of the attendees were people banned from other conventions. And looking at the damages, you can see why
he didn't mention this is the vid, but all of this shit took place over the coarse of the first day of the con. let that sink in. all this shit happened in one day.
7:22 THAT is why some people despise furries. Remember all the things that the FURRIES themselves are doing, and realize they're doing it publicly, in front of children. I don't have anything against furries in general, but this con failed for a reason.
The reasons why furries get into trouble is because they don't do anything about the animal abuse, sexual abuse, extremely graphic exhibitionism, and recruitment. Not much you can do with it because it's endemic to the community, and it's largely dealt with by ignoring it.
As a furry, I can definitely do without the diaper fetishists. FurAffinity is infested with them, and there's no way to hide tags on that site. I'd like to be able to search for a character I like without seeing a deluge of diapers, but the admins have other ideas.
I'd die of embarrassment if someone hands me a deodorant lol I still don't really understand the lack of hygiene for some people. It feels great taking a shower or a bath. You can even buy one of those waterproof cases so you can use your phone while you do those things.
@Jakaze_ But somehow you can work enough to yearn 200$ dollars in order to travel all the way to a convention? Depression is not those people's problem.
Not all cases can be explained with poor Hygiene. Some people sweat more than the average Person, No amount of Deo or showers can prevent a Body with hyperactive sweat glands from sweating. Beside that.... If you smell bad, that can also be related to your genes and diet. Some people can Look like they just jumped out of a refreshing shower and still smell bad. To make it worse... our brain tends to filter our own smell out, so you probably dont even realize that you smell bad. Some diet changes odor, garlic is Infamous for that xD So yeah.... Hygiene is not always the Problem.
Oh god I remember this. Well I’m happy to be receiving this awesome content. If you’re interested in his 2020 virus episode try internet historians “tales from the varus” part 1 and 2 It’s a nice explanation on different events that happened during that time.
The answer is a resounding yes. History has repeatedly shown that some really *open-minded* people got ahead of themselves. *Looks away from John and Robert Kennedy* In all seriousness though, there is a reason gatekeeping should be a thing. By having a revolving door into a wider community, you invite people who may share aspects with that community, but who are despicable and disgusting in their complete makeup. It's like the LGBT community, the video game community (a community I am sometimes ashamed to be a part of), any political community, etc. By leaving the doors open, bad people will mix in with the good. And that is when things can get really bad. Especially if said community is already reviled by the general public.
It's called the paradox of tolerance. To be tolerant, you cannot accept the intolerant. Which makes you intolerant of the intolerant. Of course this ends up being used in pathetic attempts by bigoted conservatives to be a "gotcha!" when it's anything but. A tolerant community cannot accept the intolerant or the bigoted, or else they will irreparably harm themselves far more than the minor paradox of gatekeepering the intolerant does.
Yeah it's called every liberal college and city. Which now is accepting open anti semitism. Didnt take long for the group calling everyone a nazi to reveal them doing nothing but projection.
Alicia learning the hard way why some people have a passionate hatred of furries in general. LGBT is running into the same problem with Pride Parades and drag shows... it really doesn't take many bad actors to destroy a reputation. Unfortunately, the reality is a small but sizable percentage of people love being absolute degenerates in public, and NOT keeping it to themselves is the entire appeal. That doesn't justify generalizations and assuming EVERYONE is like that, mind, but if you wanted to know where the intense, violent opposition comes from... there it is. Not condoning hate, just explaining it.
What I find weird is that only some fandoms are maligned for bad actors. I've been in some fandoms where there are some horrible people and I don't see people complaining about them.
Well said. It's an unfortunate reality that most people outside of any Fandom or group can't help but see the negative connotations that are perceived. This applies to all levels. Political, religious, ethical, sexual, furries, anime, gaming, etc etc.
I'm gonna be real... If your bathroom can't handle 2 inches of water, while also being above the SERVER ROOM. Then that is a failure in structural planning.
Not a shot even half the shit was done by "furry haters". It's a fandom known for rampant self-destruction and because the Rainfurrest dorks running the event didn't bother to check any blacklists so it's not unlikely that EVERYTHING was caused by the attendees.

Well disgusting and vile.. and another that I really do not mind and are cool with as they do not do the things the other group does.. ( Not everyone wants to see you screwing out in the open, in a hotel lobby, ect.. That is the least of the bad stuff I have seen happen. I am just leaving it at that and wont go further. ) I am not a furry myself but I know people who are and am fine with them. I also have known others that.. Do things that I feel make it much harder on others like those I consider friends. The group that attended that convention where very much notorious for doing that stuff and got themselves banned from a lot of areas. Nothing will be missed by anyone. Keep in mind the first group I mentioned and am mostly talking about.. Is a small group as far as I know of.. But they tend to be talked about the most. Something that feels like its getting more and more common. ( I also know it did get mentioned in the video a bit but I just want to emphasize this issue a bit.. As it also is a problem with other groups as well. )
I recall many people saying that the furry at the end, "they're bringing it back!" was actually the one who sabotaged the event. I don't recall ever seeing proof of that though.
Lol at Alicia being in complete denial that it was the furies fault. Come on girl, call out bad actors when you see them, and don't come up with conspiracies about false flag attacks to make furies look bad in some random hotel.

Yeah... This was not 100% sabotage by people who didn't like furries, I'd go as far to say the damage fault was a 70/30 split. 70% being from a small group from the furry's side, the extremes, complete weirdos and freaks in the furry community, not saying the whole community is freaks or weirdos, just the outliers. I respect the people who went into it wanting to enjoy themselves with like-minded individuals of a community many might see as weird, all the power to em But for the people vandalizing and exposing people (especially minors and children) to the weirder side of your community, shame on them, they should know better. And the person who was filling diapers and sabotaging everything for the con's future... I pray that they get serious help and become a better person, and if they cannot do that much, then they deserve no happiness or joy. If you go out of your way to ruin things for other people on a level that you're sending letters showing evidence you yourself left, you don't deserve joy
What pisses me off here is that even most animals practice some basic hygiene and decour around their own dens/nests etc., so this kind of behavior from these individuals is horrible and inexcusable.

@@Carcharadroid I'm aware furries have real jobs heck how else would they afford their mortgage priced fursuits meaning there are normal society contributing people among them heck there is literally a furry commercial pilot community but even among said communities there are as you mention a lot of bad and loud people and if you say there are a lot of them that means *they* are the majority and like I said there are good people within said community but you overexaggerate when you call them the majority because I don't think I have ever heard of a successful furry convention not to mention most stories that pop out of my recommended are straight up horror stories and crimes committed by furries and its not just a matter of one person doing it since they aren't just a single individual for them to commit said atrocities they would have others supporting them and motivating them to do so who are also part of said community you aren't exactly making a convincing case when you try to paint them in a good light like they are similar to other communities because the anime community is mostly tame heck there are less news of failed anime conventions and if they do it's mostly on the part of the organizers of the event and not the attendees not to mention the anime community has been around for a while longer than most communities that their sheer size would overshadow any terrible event that would happen within the community meanwhile every other day the furry community always has drama that it becomes a main topic for a while meaning despite your claim of them a community thats ever growing they cannot overshadow their more unsavory issues because there are simply too many of them compared to good things they do in the eyes of the public

Its one thing to be opened minded, but people that do things that are just straight up unhygienic to the point that it could be a potentially hazardous to other peoples health is one of the many reasons people hate on furries.
it's so funny when she initially thought that there were people trying to sabotage the furry event.
...because its true? The whole thing got screwed because there were some select people who are banned from furry cons as a whole were allowed in and they fucked the whole thing for everyone else.
The furries themselves will see to that methinks...
Well yes and no. It was a specific furry and his crew, who got pissed off by the con runners for throwing him out one year. He was actually the one accused of trying to make a glory hole, thus his removal. His crew was responsible for the diapers on cars, the loosened toilets and the fucked up filter in the hot tub, and then sent letters to every hotel and convention space in washington. Everything else though was on the attendees. Rainfurest wasnt thought of as the "containment con" for nothing.

Lol yeah. "theyre precious beans they dont deserve hate"

The Balloon Boy video and that second channel follow-up with Richard himself that he mentions in the end is actually very sad and infuriating to watch, but I always strongly recommend it anyway, because it is one of the biggest misconceptions in the history of internet that most still believe in, so I keep recommending it for the sake of spreading awareness. (there is also Q&A video about it on 2nd channel, but it can be skipped as long as you watch the main video and Richard Heene one, preferably together)

"Drilling glory holes? yup I believe it"
And now you understand why so many people are actively against furries.
The amount of denial she's in. You cant please everyone, some groups are just horrible
Yeah the denial is crazy, I've had to deal with Furries myself. Only a small handful are actually decent
he didn't mention this is the vid, but all of this shit took place over the coarse of the first day of the con. let that sink in. all this shit happened in one day.
I nearly chocked on my cheese laughing when Alicia stopped in the middle of her rant to hit us with the "There's babies here? ... oh man..."
7:22 THAT is why some people despise furries. Remember all the things that the FURRIES themselves are doing, and realize they're doing it publicly, in front of children. I don't have anything against furries in general, but this con failed for a reason.
The denial is palpable.

Is there such a thing as being *too* open-minded?
The answer is a resounding yes. History has repeatedly shown that some really *open-minded* people got ahead of themselves. *Looks away from John and Robert Kennedy*
In all seriousness though, there is a reason gatekeeping should be a thing. Especially if said community is already reviled by the general public.
an open mind is like an open bin
Everyone is going to throw their trash in there
It's called the paradox of tolerance.
It's completely normal to hate degenerates that fetishize animals.
I'm gonna be real... If your bathroom can't handle 2 inches of water, while also being above the SERVER ROOM. Then that is a failure in structural planning.

I've never seen someone defend people shitting there diapers in public.
There are 3 types of furries
The good: I like being a furry
The bad: I like being a furry to the extreme
The ugly: I’m going to behave like a literal animal because I’m a furry
I just think dragons are kinda sick
All the furries that were banned from their own fandom came together to make this shitshow. Shame that IH doesn't mention this.
Some of the comments say he mentions it in his incognito mode channel.
A quote from Heavenly Father. Heyo, I actually know the event you are refering to. Turns out it was a massive misunderstanding. Someone in fursuit bumped into a cosplayer in the back of a rave. The suiter felt something sharp stick them in the dark while the cosplayer was trying to slip out thw door. The suiter thought it was a needle and reported it. After an investigation alongside the local PD, yeah turns out it was just an awkward passing between two costumers in lowlighting in a crowded space with sharp costume bits. I've been to local furry conventions (which in Texas is a brave decision due to the heat) and its actually really fun. I'd love to wear a suit if it wasn't so expensive.
It's brave for more than just the heat. Hatred towards any sort of alternative lifestyle gets turned up to 11 in Texas and Florida. There are rednecks there who will shoot you for doing anything they disapprove of, and boy howdy do they hate furries.

I respect the people who went into it wanting to enjoy themselves with like-minded individuals of a community many might see as weird, all the power to em
But for the people vandalizing and exposing people (especially minors and children) to the weirder side of your community, shame on them, they should know better.
So glad I read the description. xD
