The pocket fish thing is kinda misleading due to the storytelling but remember folks that Japanese people don't always sleep in their travel kimono. On the pocket thing, I've found only a single brand of jeans that has a ton of pockets (10 to be precise) and a slimmer cut version that works for both men and women. I think I can easily fit 6+ redbull cans in them, but normally I'll just have 2 phones, wallet, knife, screwdriver, house keys, car keys, maybe a bottle, and whatever else I might need at work.
You'll probably find them if you search varusteleka särmä tst tactical jeans. Might be a bit expensive though.

Well... that sounds like a... theory. I haven't watched the video, but I would argue that "A" reason why women's clothes tend to lack pockets is because women tend to have purses anyways and pockets were redundant and would just be more material to use on something that a purse would fulfill anyways. So it's a way on cutting costs. To me, that just sounds more plausible.
@@Marusinae Back in the day everyone had purses, so there has to be reason when men got pockets and women didn't and still don't, even though they won't be executed for crossdressing in pants now.
@@TheArcSet Right, so everyone had purses or some sort of pouch way back in the day. That would also rule out the idea that fake pockets are to sell purses since the purse predates the pocket.
Purses are a functional accessory and women have a tendency to carry around more things than men do. That in of itself is reason enough why men have pockets and women don't, typically. As for why women's pants continue to not have pockets, you can look to my previous comment as a possible reason for it. More material needed to create something that would be made redundant by a purse that women typically carry around. So it'll cut cost on materials.
Fun fact, there is a website (don't know if it still exists and I'm not going to search simce I don't want to be on another watch list) where you can buy things made of authentic human leather. Obviously they're very expensive. The problem though is that human skin doesn't make for good leather so I think you have to take extra care of it or something. Idk, it's been like 6 years since I saw that site.
