Sometimes a reason for getting fired is worse... I got fired from a local department store for helping and elderly woman find a bunch of stuff. The manager told me my job wasn't helping customers just stocking the shelves then fired me on the spot... I enlisted in the Army the same day out of anger/frustration. Best decision ever!

If you like Internet Historian then you might like his other channels, Incognito Mode and Storymode. The first one is more random topics as he and a friend usually make jokes while going on a certain topic. Storymode is similar where its him and a friend but they usually go over a specific game, usually going over what happens and make jokes about it.
I think she mentioned being familiar with one of the fan fictions that they acted out.
I remember him having Incognito mode episode with ManyKudos and in that episode, ManyKudos ask IH that do he like his fans. To which IH says no, that he hate them. But I feel like it's more like tsundere love-hate relation of IH and his fans.

I don't know where the idea Americans are super sensitive about 9/11 comes from. We started making 9/11 jokes in 2003.
Think there's literally a South Park episode where they start telling people when it's okay to make 9/11 jokes. But the whole episode is a 9/11 joke 🤣😂

while it is true that it was a horrible event, it shows the blindness of america to what happens outside of their yard, and with every successive terrorist event or catastrophe on american soil, it became clearer and clearer that while sometime justified, the 'never forget' was just performative, as there have been events much more impactful and destructive, yet that one was the big justifier, something big enough to make requests to the whole world, some more than reasonable some just dumb, but at more than 10 years, many americans still call upon the grieving for the attack
@@serPomizIronic that there is some blindness to the effects of 9/11 from someone claiming the US to be blind to anything outside the yard. There have been people who needed restitution years after due to health issues/economic issues from the attacks that had to fight for decades for said help. So it makes sense that there still are people who are suffering from the event. That being said, you are right that anyone rebuking you for 9/11 joke that hasn't been directly effected are being a bit performative.

You're presenting the opposite problem, suggesting that the suffering of those in America is arbitrarily not important due to others suffering elsewhere. Suffering is suffering, regardless of flag or area.

Chat's right, EmpLemon does some great documentary videos. They're basically about stuff Emp like's personally so the topics can seem scattershot but there's so much passion and effort in them he makes them so entertaining.

People in chat are jokingly saying US Army but there are MANY old ladies in civilian contractor positions in the military. Most are Veterans themselves but many aren't.

My partner and I got fired from a grocery store our 3rd day there because, when told to go work in pairs to stock shelves for the store's grand opening, we chose to work with each other. We weren't making out or anything bc we don't feel comfy about pda and they're ace anyway, we were just. being friendly and chatty as we worked. They didn't give me a reason, and they told my partner that it was due to performance. We later found out from their dad, who worked at another location, that rumor mills were saying it may have been because of us being gay. 3 other women got fired that day for the same given reason, so we all filed a complaint with hr that this could be a sexism and possibly lgbt discrimination case. That general manager was soon fired. We did not go back. Fuck that place.

Hey Alicia. American Here, from the South, the Bible belt if you will. There are many states in this area that have hire and fire at will jobs. They can make up any reason to fire you, or 'say' it is this reason, but it's really because they don'y like you. Also, no unions here.
As a guy from the South and who has both had real home cooked soul food and also eaten at Cracker Barrel many times, I'll agree that it's not really the same, but good enough to satisfy the craving for beans and turnip greens and cornbread when you're too lazy to make it for yourself. Also, I've found the quality can vary wildly from location to location, some are very good, at least high mid, but others are absolute ass.
My phone is also broken, and I refuse to fix it cause I deserve it. A cockroach came at me one time, and I freaked out and slammed that phone down on it, hard, glass first, and it shattered. I looked at it, and was like, "Yea... that's fair".

Considering the poor phone at 8:48 , yeah no, people doing these things and participating in "trolling" are usually not in the best place themselves, be it physically and/or mentally.
