    Another thing to consider is the size of the pen tip. Rivera's 92 Bowman looks great with a Staedtler fine blue, and he takes his time and presses uniformly throughout the autograph. That fine tip, however, doesn't work well on Charles Woodson whose autograph is just a quick, light slide to the right.
    The greater the definition, the thinner the tip so you can see more of the detail. I've found Staedtler Mediums to be MUCH more consistently high quality than Sharpies. More money, but sharpies split too often for my taste

      That’s good to hear! I picked up my first Staedtler last night and I didn’t know if I should order the fine tip or medium. I ended up going medium

    Great video! Thankfully the cheapest option for PSA to slab cards and authenticate autos is $36/card now (or $60 for Economy)
    Quick question, have you ever tried Uni Paint markers on cards? We had Steph grab the first guys pen and run with it on my first year Prizm Curry. It was a black Uni Paint marker and I received the boldest/non-streaky auto Ive ever seen from Steph. I haven’t had a chance to use one again but I ordered a couple and have them on the way to me
    I also picked up a blue Staedtler to try out. Heard that’s what Panini uses, not sure what folks think of that pen

    Great advice!
    My go to for a trading card is a blue Staedtler. A blue Sharpie, particularly a fresh one with a point that hasn’t been worn down, would be a close second.

      Used that pen on some recent Rivera 1992 bowman. Curious how they turned out.

    Is it necessary to open up the slab before getting an autograph on a card?

    @Powers Sports Memorabilia (or anyone else) I have seen people who wait for players after a game to get sports cards signed and they are using some sort of book where they have like 4 cards on a page and then they just quickly turn to the page of the player. This way the player doesn’t have to touch the card (preventing any damage risk, but it also gives them a flat surface to sign on, does anyone know where to get those books that will hold the cards to keep them safe like this? Please respond below and/or @ me.

    I think autograph grading has gotten stricter in the last few months. Last year I sent 5 Shaq cards and 2 got 9's because of slight variation in the signature ink pressure. I sent more this year and I'm getting 7-8 on a lot of them, if it looks perfect then 9-10, if the signature has variation in pen pressure then just get Auth. A bigshot told me if it's less than 10, just go with Auth; I still find value in 9's. The biggest risk with cards marked trading card is that some people think it is a fake if they don't list the year/make, that can cost some sales.

    I once couldn't get an auto cause someone at the game has an entire book of cards and the player sat there for 5 minutes signing all of them then he had to leave

    How to ruin your cards value 101 😂

    • @PowersSportsMemorabilia
      @PowersSportsMemorabilia  2 роки тому +1

      Quite the opposite. Take a card that’s a psa 8 or less. Get it signed. Doubles, triples etc the value. Take a Jeter SP Foil. I’ve sold low grade signed cards of those for over $3,000. But as always, do what suites your tastes.
