Couldn't resist making a video for this awesome new release from Home Free! Apologies for the camera going in and out of focus -- I think I was seated a bit too far outside the center 🙄Hope you guys are ready for a week of Tim Foust, because the most-requested song for me to do releases tomorrow! 🙌
The story goes, Adam has been considered the best beat boxer in the world by his peers twice. I can't wait for you to get to Mayday. :-D I'm learning so much.
In the beginning it’s just Chance with light harmonic accompaniment. When he sings the word “harmony” the next line is clearly a louder harmony. When he next says “no bass”, Tim drops out for a bit. It’s fascinating how the vocal arrangement follows the words. And I keep finding more. Thanks for your reaction
Great analysis! This is the kind of song that sets Home Free apart from other current a capella acts. They are all virtuosos in their own right no doubt, but unlike other a capella groups who rely on theatrics or over the top vocal calesthenics, these guys can just sit and sing and blow people away just with that tight, beautiful sound. To me, songs like this are more entertaining than the ones with more gymnastic moments. Awesome, and the video was a one shot, no edits. Simple and mind-blowing at the same time.
That's what I thought about the Sing Off, these guys don't need fancy choreography. Another reactor, ThatSingerReactions says you know it's going to be good when they're standing in the grass
One of the many things that make Home Free so great is that they don't always feel the need to be over the top. They have plenty of skill to absolutely annihilate the high and low ends, but then you lose the gorgeous sound of cohesive harmonies. Don't get me wrong, I adore when they do a song that lets them flex in the vocals or the beatboxing. But they are comfortable enough within the group to know that sometimes less is more! Great reaction, love hearing your breakdowns of the how and why things work.
Awesome analysis, thanks! I love that they did a brief 5-part harmony with Adam singing (and smiling, which we rarely see because smiling and beatboxing usually don't mix).
I’m not sure what the song is you have in store about tim but you keep saying how high he is in this song, you HAVE to check out mayday if you haven’t yet.
Never seen nor heard Tim Struggle in the high notes.. And Adam rupp is just unbelievable!!!! Doesn't matter what song these guys do. Knocked out of the park!!!!
Thanks for I r this technical reaction. Good to hear this instead of just gibberish from some folks. Home Free arrangements are always great but I love the simplicity...sometimes less is more. Those last harmonies after Austin's solo are particularly gorgeous
Two things (not sure if I'm the only one): Adam is a world class beat boxer. According to other beat boxers. And Tim uses his high notes to practice his growl, which explains his range.
Believe it or not. As the story goes; Tim actually trained for singing a high range, and later took over the low one time in another situation. From there, he always sang the low in general, because of his near sub bass singing. The singer to Tim's left (Chance) exchanges parts a lot with Tim and Austin. Essentially, he sings the exact same high / low range as Tim, just one octave higher. Rob fills in the parts between Austin, and Chance the same way. Together they make some tight harmonies, as well as having good lead voices in and of themselves.
I love how at the beginning when Chance sings "no bass" Tim drops out til the next line. Also love how each have their own verse...well except Rupp. Once again Rupp proves WHY he's a 2X world champion beatboxer. Look out Michael Winslow!
Sorry but Adam has never competed in Beatbox Championships nor does he ever have a desire or need to. He has won a couple of harmony sweepstakes best vocal percussionist awards back in the day (one was honorary just for him) and a couple best overall beatboxer awards from the a cappella world.
Excellent review and reaction. I believe on their version of I Swear, Austin also sings lower. Adam does have several videos of him beatboxing...he is amazing. Looking forward to the next reaction 😀.
Helplessly Hoping...a shorter song where all 5 sing with no perc. Tim arranged it. Incredible how 5 men with very different sounding voices can actually sound like one voice when on one note. Exceptional song. You have to do this one.
Adam does a beatbox solo at every concert , and has been voted nr . 1 at 2 different beatboxing world championships voted and judged by other worldclass beatboxers

They did a phenomenal cover here! There voices just meld together so wonderfully! Loved your assessment and review! I think I may know what song is up for reaction tomorrow, but I won't say what I think it is.
I love how you explain all the different things going on with the pitches and the different ways Adam Rupp uses his techniques. Really enjoyed your reactions , keep it up . Not many reactors know much about that. Thanks so much.🎶🎵🦋🎶🎵
When I first heard this one I thought “well that’s one that won’t make my regular playlists”, then I watched one other person react to it and thought it was better than I thought at first. Going through it slowly with all this information on its creation it really is quite amazing. Never thought about it showcasing some amazing Rupp work otherwise, and hearing now how they change it up based on the lyrics so much, it’s truly great piece of art.

All the boys were good in this. I would love to hear your impressions of I Can’t Outrun You with Chance in the lead. It’s beautiful and I loved the video. It’s got lots of bass.
I do love people explain the science behind the music and their structure, particularly in acapella. Speaking of Austin's lower range, you should check out their cover of "I Swear". Austin goes lower than his usual range
Chances bass in this too is worth noting, his baseline is super solid now there’s a point in the song where you can’t tell Tim and Adam switch on the baseline
Love your reactions, Peter! Your explanation of what we in Sweet Adelines call a vocal break in your range. The latest release by Home Free came out yesterday - Workin' for a Livin'. Check it out when you get a chance - it's a really fun video, and I think you'll like Adam's harmonica solo as well as Chance's lead. Adam has been voted the world's best beatboxer a couple of times - and it's obvious in his work. Thanks!!

My understanding Adam is a 2x beatbox world champion
Please find the link that proves that. I have not been able to find that.
@@super_siri I remember seeing a comment on another reaction channel a year or 2 ago about it. If I'm wrong then I'll admit that. I've been trying to find anything to back it up but can't atm. I'll do some more research and see if I can find anything on it
@@droid8472 he's not a world champion, but he won in the Harmony Sweepstakes (at least once). I asked him directly in a Q+A because I could't find anything either.
The problem is that a comment to this avail started popping up a few years back and was repeated over and over until it was believed as fact...
@@HomeFree_Fan_Germany good to know
It's interesting how you can disect the video and explain it to us! I find that very interesting! I can't wait til you do Mayday.....maybe that's the next one!!
Really nice reaction, appreciate the science lesson.
Don't know how much you've read about Tim but he has a 5 octave range though he's a bass in his truest vocal performances. Not the best way to describe him but the best that this non-musically trained person can attempt to explain it. Anyway...listen to Tim & Peter Hollens do Misty Mountain if you want to hear what Tim is really capable of.
Love this and so appreciate your analysis. I am not a musician but enjoy your explanations. Please react to HF's "How Great Thou Art". It is stunningly beautiful!
If you haven't yet you have to do mayday!!!
I think it's liproll 😆✌️ maybe
Beatboxed has won contests.
You think Adam is getting weird here? You should check out Home Free Adam's Drum Solo, it's a video from a live performance. He does a didgeridoo and a duck. It's amazing and fun to listen to.
Great.. thank you. New sub here... and i love your tshirt, too! Thanks again for all you do.. Stay safe!
