naik parveen is basically a woman who is accepted by the society. someone who listens to her husband and obeys him all the time. basically talwey chaatna. naik parveen is a woman who is considered a good and acceptable housewife. a lot of "naik parveen" girls in pakistan have this thing where they put down other girls and say stuff like "mai to apney shauhar ki khidmat karti hoon pura din" "main to apni saas ke aagey chu tak nahi karti". so, basically, a woman who is a puppet, pretentious and stupid as hell is called a naik parveen.

Thanks Shehzad for another wonderful podcast. I didn't know Mariam and thanks again for introducing her to me. This is a uniquely sad yet eye-opening podcast. It felt that both men and women are captives in a weirdly surreal yet very real prison. I think this is because of toxic masculinity where men are put on such a pedestal of perfection that they have to be act dominating at every level. What is status of mother in a typical Pakistani family? Is she considered a strong role model? In India, for majority of the people, the experience is very different, most people in India that are of my age works or have worked with men and are now retired. Some commercial segments are completely dominated by women. If women stops going out and stops participating economically, we will easily loose about 40% of the GDP. The loan structure of India also facilitates this as women entrepreneurs, women get loans with better interest rate. There is no shame in doing everyday work, exercise, shopping or wearing reasonably modest clothes like skirts, pants, salwar, saree etc.
Mahira Khan as an individual is very progressive in her thoughts and views and she never stays tight lipped if something is off in popular narrative with respect to gender politics - She fully supported MJMM when the likes of Hira mani and Aiza Khan ran away from all this - MK spoke in favor of Marvi Sarmed when she was verbally abused by KRQ

Dear Shehzad, I must say that you are a good communicator. Although I haven't seen all of your podcasts, I have been watching lately, and I kind of like what you are doing here. I appreciate the fact that you give space to others to have different opinions. I would like to give you a thought. Rather than using very strong words like "dehumanising" and "no space for women," you could have articulated yourself in a better way. I know you can. It is very unfortunate how things are, and I couldn't agree more that things should be way better than what is going on. But for a while, think about it, isn't it easier to point out bad stuff about people, countries, cultures, and even anything? If you want to discuss the severity of the matter, then you must highlight its root cause and come up with practical solutions that could really help. I am sure that would be a lot more interesting than someone coming and discussing things that they are frustrated about. Two requests: First, don't judge this comment because of its length. Secondly, what you are doing is fab, but don't just do it to give a show. Do it with a purpose. After all, you have named this podcast "The Pakistan Experience." Although he has crticised the capitalist system in the past, he is literally part of that very system that is exploiting people.
@@ThePakistanExperience Yes you are right. When you have a lot of capital, you can get some pretty good lawyers to get you out of a lot of stuff. John Pilger calls it the Wealth-Defense complex. I have been living in Germany since 2011, yes German have made me realize how we don’t appreciate our languages, that if someone speaks Urdu only they are considered “unintelligent”. But Shehzad’s fixation on Urdu and local languages did not fit in Germany’s context, they also have local dialects e.g. Bavarian has very different vocabulary and if one really starts speaking even other German from other regions may not fully understand it. I agree forcing it on Bangladesh was 100% wrong but the real problem of Urdu in Pakistan is lack of self respect and pride in our local languages and culture as she implied

I don't think you can judge mahatma gandhi based on what he said about women back in 1900's because back in the time situation and society was completely different , There was hardly any concept of feminism and liberal values in the most of the world specially in south asia !!!
Agha Khanis aka Ismailis go to Jamat Khaana where they collectively pray. Their events are inclusive and people make life long friendships in their JKs
You are from Sindh that why you ask right questions and you are so smart; after all the Sindh is the Barth place of Indian culture and Indian Civilisation.
If Mariam and many other are existing and still functioning may be with some struggle it means Pakistan do have space for women but it could be that they live in a different world (elite) and they have no connection to really people of Pakistan

ancient Indian story where a woman named Savitri defeated Yamraj ( an employee of God of death) in a discussion and she gave her husband a new birth.
Must a communist hindu-hating household.

Good one & as they say in a Mumbai lingo 'bindaas' show, Shehzad and Mariam. ❤it.

Bc I don’t know why I watched the whole conversation. Get zero knowledge but it was fun to watch 😂😂
Love love you shehzad bhai. 😊 From India ❤
❤️
I am such a fan of her!
agreed with most of the conversation
just one question
Why did you mix two things while refering to Engr. Mirza
when did engr. mirza on your podcast mention that "Aurton ko mar nahi sakte"
and yes ye said ,
Marital rape wali chez allow nahi he
and in this pod cast, why did you try to mix two things ?
please refer
the exact moment / timestamp where engr. mirza said "Aurton ko mar nahi sakte" ?
OMG I wasn't expecting this! Commenting before watching it.

@@mariamgoraya6832 Also maryam, we know these words against patriarchy have been spoken before multiple times but kiu k patriarchy abhi bhi musallat shuda hai hmari society pe so those have not been said enough. Its good to see you are still on the same cause with even more persistence. We are here to have those same conversations again and again everyday to add more into them until we see them bearing fruits. More power an love to you. 💪❤

👏👏👏good one Shehzad! Now I am intrigued - ab to aapko batana pare ga k what kind of feminist you are?
I don't think you can judge mahatma gandhi based on what he said about women back in 1900's because back in the time situation and society was completely different , There was hardly any concept of feminism and liberal values in the most of the world specially in south asia !!!
Agha Khanis aka Ismailis go to Jamat Khaana where they collectively pray. Their events are inclusive and people make life long friendships in their JKs
Marium is mesmerizing....love her personality

You are from Sindh that why you ask right questions and you are so smart; after all the Sindh is the Barth place of Indian culture and Indian Civilisation.

It seems like Islam is an occupying force; Islam occupied the mind.

If Mariam and many other are existing and still functioning may be with some struggle it means Pakistan do have space for women but it could be that they live in a different world (elite) and they have no connection to really people of Pakistan
They don't live in Pakistan
Mariam lives in Germany
Can the host speak in Sindhi ? From the previous podcasts , i think he cant. So no your mother tongue is not Sindhi, its urdu/ English.
