Curtis Cab for Kubota Zero Turn Mower

- This Zero Turn cab looks like a little space capsule for mowing your lawn. This is a Kubota Z mower, but we're going to be talking more specifically about this cab today. An air conditioned cab that can go on to your mower, that's going to do a couple of things for you. Keep the pollen off of you, keep the bugs out of your face, keep the grass from blowing back on you and keep you cool at the same time. We'll talk about the benefits, but also maybe some of the downsides and complications of installing this on a machine.

This is true innovation. If you are a government employee and are required to work a full day in the rain……this cab just became your best friend.
Big commercial operators dwn south and other hot areas will be right on the money.. keep your operators happy..
💥 Excellent video Neil. I was at GIE representing Curtis this past weekend. We had that cab on display and it really is well built. Curtis knows cabs! 👍
*Keep on tractoring!*
I could have used that when I ran over a ground bee nest in my yard.
I got lucky, somehow I mowed over them and they didn't do anything. The second time, I noticed them and was a lot more careful. This was with a push mower, so no protection.
@@arthurr8670 I figured I would park my BX over the hole with the mower deck on and it would kill them all. It doesn't
Very helpful video, Neil. Appreciate you testing with the 72" rather than the 60". You've done a great job of helping us 'feel' the operational aspects of that cab. I NEED one of those :-)
Sure Timmy!
I NEED ONE ALSO ..
I would gladly take a cab on ANY zero turn mower I’ve owned or have! The dirt/dust/grass clippings get blown all over me. Trading Itchy eyes, sneezing and dirt for comfort??? Definitely
My allergies would love this. I get covered with "stuff" while mowing and my eyes close up. This might make it possible to mow more of the day. My biggest issue would be around the tree line (end rows). I would beat the heck out of the cab getting as close as I normally go with my ZD. And I can't just pop the cab off and back on to take care of that.
100k subscribers just in time for the new building 👍🏻 weather there looks nice as well
That is badass! Cant wait to start seeing these more standard in the future. Limo tint would help it stay cooler and look even better
Bought a 3310 with a mmm primarily for the mowing in an enclosed cab. My wife would never go back to mowing without one.
I can definitely see where that would be a great add on especially if you have several acres to mow and you get home from work on a hot summer day and want to relax but still gotta get that grass cut, lol.
It definitely takes some of the misery out of doing some chores.
This is awesome. We have dust standards in mining that requires us to keep dust exposure to a minimum for employees. We had to purchase a John Deere Terra-cut because they were the only model that offered a cab for a mower. This is a game changer.
This is the future folks. In 20 years we will all be in little boxes, driving around and mowing our yards.
Couple of things to add as someone who runs zd mowers and also a commercial cutter. 1. You were cutting lower than over before, that takes more hp. 2. This is a brand new machine not broken in and you will gain hp as it breaks in. In the 4300 hrs of running a zd326 on a 60 inch deck, I have never once said, "I need more power". That is despite mowing 4ft high grass. My zd21 on a 60 inch deck still does pretty good, but ya could use some more hp on the hills. If someone does buy ones of these, a 60 inch deck would be better, but a 72 will keep you further from trees and unless you have a lot of hills robbing hp, you would be fine running the 72 once it is broken in.
Very helpful and informative.
Looks great, gotta get them to make a cab for the LX2610SU.
Heck yea its worth it. I love my decision to buy my cab tractor ac and heat are wonderful
Ventrac is really going to need to get on the ball with a hvac cab. Climate controlled cabs are the future.
I would love to try one of these machines out and own one very nice.
What is the world coming to??? Taking the discomfort and drudgery out of lawn care! How dare they! Honestly, very cool, no pun intended 🤣🤣🤣
Curtis isn’t to far from me. Maybe I’ll stop in to see if I can get a tour, haha but it would of been fun.
I wish they would sell to the public…….
WOW Rich man's mower, I want one.
I have a Ferris. Those springs are expensive. Luckily i do not require the front 2 so i just took them off. Seems to ride better without them.
Awesome! Up next is a convertible top or a sun roof option?
The old saying is a tractor with ac has about 5 hp less than a tractor without ac. I wonder if that would be approximate for this zero turn. When I was younger I would've thought that thing is ridiculous. Now that I'm not younger and am bothered by the heat more, it looks interesting.
It would be different. I suspect this has a smaller ac system, requiring less power to run.
It IS ridiculous... ridiculously awesome 😎
Put some privacy tint on those windows and you could help keep the internal cab temperatures down.
I have really noticed these last few summers, after mowing for couple hours or more, I have swollen, itchy eyes at the least. Wonder how much that cab might help the air quality for those of us who suffer from these issues.?
I'm the same way. I actually had nasal surgery a few years ago to open things up. Hopeful this makes a big difference.
A high quality synthetic oil in the engine and transmission will reduce engine load alot.
I would stuff alot of closed cell foam insulation under the engine hood.
Looks like a fun install... can't wait.. almost 100,000 subscribers! Awesome
you'll have one to do before too long i'm sure.
@@MessicksEquip i think Bob said there is one sold with a bagger unit.. they were taking measurements... should be fun 🙃. Have a great day 😀
Question is how much.
Maybe for rich farm owners but not for lawn maintenance.
You also need to trim and edge and you will have a headache with sudden temperature change getting in and out of it.
But it's a nice invention. Who doesn't want comfort.
it is just a matter of time before this becomes a factory option and more common. Cabs have been finding there way onto pontoons, sub compact tractors, lawn tractors, walk behind snow blowers, and more for years. This wont fit everyones needs, but I wouldn't discredit a cab on a zero turn at this point.
Hi Neil. Could you do the test using the same machine minus the cab?
Man that is really mice how much does that cost? $20k
Question looking at kabota zero turns to buy How does the zd1211 mowers 24.8 hp running a 72” in deck compare to my old z331 with the same deck pumping out 31 hp is they’re a noticeable difference in power loss how did they make it more efficient? The hp drop is scarring me from it
There is a drop, it's not awful.
I wouldn’t buy a tractor without a cab. Sooner than later, people will feel the same way with lawn equipment.
A cab has it place, but not in my woods!
thats pretty effin cool
Any AC cabs In the works for the trimmer guy? Maybe then I could keep a employee….maybe
I can see in heavy grass I wouldn’t be happy with the power drop at all I can here it lug when you crowd it. Scalping it or not that grass was short it would need minimum 45 to 50hp but that’s my preference I like plenty of power.
Can you order a zd1211 with the 1.6L engine instead of the 1.1L?
With no emissions.
"good video" at least he's honest about it!
Neil has no plans to sell this mower.
guilty.
As long as there cabs work out better than there run of snow plows.
hepa and carbon filters would be great to stop allergies
Hay Neil I have done About a Kubota a there anyway I could go and buy a cab with air-conditioning and put it on
not following your question.
@@MessicksEquip sorry dent pay attention to it after I sent it way trying to youse speak to text lol I was asking do they make a after Markit ac cab that will fit on a l2501
Zero turn mowers are supposed to be nimble. Next we will be putting seats and air conditioned cabs on string trimmers.
Also, In a zero turn you need lights on the sides as well, not just in front of you. Cheers!
I always were headphones while mowing, really loud ones, I’ll never hear someone tell me to do something different.
You'll definitely never hear anyone tell you something different, especially if you're wearing the headphones
Would not do this with all my trees around. That said I would love a diesel zero turn. My Cub Cadet hits end of life I will be upgrading to diesel.
I have a 2012 ZD221 and it has been a great mower!
I believe there is a company down south doing them on the Ferris 3300
I did find that after making the video. Looks like a backyard shop job though.
How much does it cost?
I need to get these mowers back down to about $2000
Lights on the front don’t work for me, I would like to see LED lights spaced all around for mowing in the dark - Florida winter or early morning summer.
Definitely would want a diesel engine on this zero turn.
Neat idea. But hydros will likely not last as long.
Companies do make mowers with cabs. Better way to go I would think.
Meant for the extra weight and power. For 24,000. Think people would hire someone else to mow your lawn. Don't have to eat dust then either.
Otherwise people should just mow less. Unless one is doing custom work.
Whose got the ztr with a 45hp cat diesel?
What clown would dislike an informational video?
Space ship confirmed
If I had the money it's going to cost to buy that I just pay somebody to cut for Me. 25 k? Or more
Expect to spend about $4K - $5K for the cab.
Double it.
Time to add a rear facing camera to alleviate the blind spot….
Wide open area only. lol
72” deck is too much for a 26 hp ZD.
over half the ZD's we sell are 72" and we don't hear power concerns. The cab does strain it for sure.
@@MessicksEquip I have a ZD326 with 60” deck. It does well but running a 72” would need more power to mow at high speed in heavy grass…. Hence the ZD331. Lol
LOL that’s absurd looking
it totally is.
@@MessicksEquip i will say though, I could see some people in real hot weather states going for it. Prob not NY or PA I dont think. I think I’d go with the Kubota front mount mower with the cab first personally.
