I like to use a front mounted snowblower with a rear box blade. My previous tractor had R4 tires and was nearly useless without tire chains. My new tractor has the same implements but with R14 tires. In 3 years of moving snow, I have yet to need to install the tire chains!
Hmm, I may have to check into R14's for my BX2680...its more of a ski on snow/ice with the R4's LOL. I've heard people say the turf tires are actually better in snow/ice than the R4's, and possibly the R14's, but with the dirt work I do frequently I don't think I'd want lawnmower tires on the tractor LOL. I don't have chains for my tractor....yet...I do need to get some for sure at some point but the snow hasn't really been bad enough the past few years to even need to plow. I did last year once when we had a foot of snow, and the tractor overall didn't do too bad, just took it slow and easy, and made shorter passes with the blade. I'd love to get the front mount snow blower but...OUCH that thing with the hitch is expensive, about 1/4 of the cost of the tractor LOL.

We traded in our LX2610 for an LX3520. What an amazing difference. We had the Quick-tatch on the old one, opted to skip that this time. Never used that feature, as we never removed the loader. We run a WoodMaxx MX8800 chipper, which works better with the added horsepower. That’ll also be useful for winter use with the rear 60” blower we run. The auto-throttle at first seems problematic in 540E with a mower (we have an FDR1660 we use). The key is to use the B throttle preset with the 540E, and the A preset with 540. Those A and B are factory default to get you 540RPM at the 540 and 540E PTO settings. That wasn’t obvious at first, especially for the 540E, but once we understood it, it’s fabulous. Like you, we run wheel spacers, and did so again on the new tractor. They make a big difference on our steep hills. The wider front axle does as well. At this point, all of our rear attachments are quick-hitch compatible. We’re running a Speeco quick hitch at this point, but considering whether to get a QH05 or QH16 at some point for somewhat better quality. The FDR1660 works great with the floating top link kit we ordered online from Messicks. Our local dealer could have gotten it, but you had it in stock and got it to us in a couple days. The Land Pride third function works nicely, but seems to take more power away from the loader than the Kubota 3rd function did on our LX2610. We have two issues that our dealer needs to address when the tractor goes in for it’s 50 hour: the brake pedal vs. parking brake need readjustment. We have some zip ties at present preventing the metal blade that engages the parking brake from rotating too far forward, precluding pushing down the parking brake lever. Our temporary fix with some loose zip ties ensures the mechanism doesn’t extend that far. The cruise control cancel cable that attaches to the brake pedal mechanism was not adjusted properly, and it’d pop out of whatever setting it was in and the tractor would stop. Some adjustment to that helped, but I’ll have the dealer do a proper setup on that too. All told, we love the LX3520. It’s SO VERY much quieter and all around a better performer.
Congrats on the new tractor Neil. No matter how many tractors you own or are around daily it is still super exciting to get a new piece of iron at the hose or homestead. I was a little surprised to see the choice not to get the adjustable lift arm option. My Case 75C has them I while I don't use that function a lot because I use a QuickHitch for most attachments, I am glad the tractor has it. I had two smaller Green tractors w/o that feature and the kicking got old real quick. Like you, I like quality lights on my tractor so I'm curious to see if you do any lighting install DIY projects on the new LX. Thanks for the consistently high quality content!
Hey Neil I've got the oversized tires on my 2610. I wouldn't do that again. Things don't fit quite as well when it comes to 3pt hitch. Working on a video about that now actually. Stay well, nice new tractor. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🍻🌴
I can see where the larger tires would present an issue with the 3 point...and probably leads to having to put some of those implements/attachments on blocks, or pallets so you can hook up to them and unhook from them because the arms no longer lower far enough.

I’ve always wanted a fancy new kubota I can’t justify one… yet I’m happy with my little ford 1100 it’s not high tech but it’s got some serious pulling power for its size
We've got a 3046R, and REALLY like the extra power and capacity in that size of tractor! It allows it to use our Shaver SC50 stump grinder, without having to take the 5-series tractor (which we also have) on the trailer! It's also nice to be able to use the 7' bush hog with a hydrostat in the woods trails! We maintain 13+ miles of trails, so that's a common thing!
Both are great machines. That new model is really awesome. Looking forward to seeing it in action in future videos. I have a BX2670 that I have been hoping to swap for a B2601 or B2650, but I think that dream is fading. Thanks for sharing!
I'm on number 3. Started with a 2001 B7500, then a BX23s, and now a B2601. The BX was a mistake - no separate brake controls, no float on the 3pt, and excruciatingly slow bucket curl. I only had it for a year. Compared to the B2601, there are 2 things I miss from the B7500: 1) You could slide/reposition the rear wheels on the axle - no spacers necessary and it took about 5 minutes; and 2) the PTO had 2 speeds - 540 and 960, so e-pto before that was a thing. I don't miss the 1/4 inching 3-point.
For pulling a NT drill the weight of the standard L or grand L seem better as bigger but the LX seems like a great lighter option, lighter on land and trailer. Great review.
Just think about the discount we could get if they actually had to put a manufacturer date / year when built . Some of these tractors are several years old when sold
I love the throttle return feature. Hopefully it will be added to the grand L, and other series. I also don't see why there is a large lever on the grand L when a knob/wheel like the pto knob would do the same job, just color it orange instead of yellow.
I do LOVE my Kubota tractors, but I have to be honest, the "swift-tach" hydraulics will eventually leak. I see it all over the Facebook groups and online forums for the BX series and I'm almost certain it is the same system as what you have there on the new LX. It is handy, easy to use and so far, mine is not leaking on my new BX but when it does, I will be changing it back to individual flat face quick connects.
The B and LX use a different manifold than BX does. These have not had the leaking issue. The BX's are also mostly fixed at this point. I would not say they never leak, if you don't keep the interface clean it will, but its not near the problem it was 7-8 years ago when that system was introduced.
I’m Always thinking of upgrading. 40 hp is huge for that frame. I want it now that I’m mowing more property. Currently using an 300 hr L2501 that has been flawless and paid for. lol. I’d be upgrading g everything so that’s a huge expense to get a foot wider
Thanks for another interesting video Neil. Question: I have a 2022 B2601 with the LA435 swift tach loader. Like you mentioned, I too like the hydraulic coupler, but I really dislike the linkages, etc. for the stands. Is it possible to convert it to traditional pins and stands like an older LA 434?
@@timkd5vmv583 it’s way lighter which is a pro and a con depending on use I got the L3301 because it was heavier than the lx but the 4060 le would be a great option for me with the No till drills needing the heaviest and most hp I could afford. Love my standard L and sometimes with tree branches glad it’s not a cab but those two models with the cab are the ones I’ve been looking at for the comfort of a cab.

As you stated that you run wheel spacers on your tractor so ive got a grand l 5460 cab tractor with the r4 tires and have a implement that when is on the lower linkage rubs against the tires.. So how much of a spacer would i need and where could i get them... Also my tires are filled so and weigh over 600 lbs each so any suggestions how to remove and replace for the spacers...Thank you..

Search back through the channel. I've done a lot on utility tractors over the years. They don't get updated or get as many features added as the small ones do.
Seems like the LX3520 is in short supply. Outside of the Farm Machinery show in Louisville, I am not finding them in dealerships, much less my dealer near me. I have even asked for one, to no avail. Any idea what is up with the supply side of things for the LX3520, Neil?

I broke the glass door on a L6060 in the woods. Had the door open so I could talk to someone while manoeuvring for the back hoe. I caught a large branch (didn't see it) while backing up, which flexed the door little to far (not much, I was going real slow) and then the safety glass shattered into thousands of little square pieces. Seems likle with the safety glass and its curvature, it is not very forgiving.
Maybe saving on the dealership markup whatever that may be but he still had to pay Kubota. He deserves a free tractor like many but they don’t give out many free Kubotas.
I’m a retired Kubota dealer. Believe me, the difference between dealer cost, sitting in the yard, assembled and serviced for sale, and what we typically retailed tractors for was always less than 10%. I didn’t UA-cam, so I always purchased good used models and implements when they came in.

Yea, an LX is not the tractor you want for a no-till drill. The HP maybe there, but its too light.

I use the e-540 often on my M7060. Much better sustained RPM's at rated pto speed.

Love the tractor, but tooth bar doesn’t protect original bucket lip like BXPanded does. One reason I liked their tooth bar

Yes, you can use the traditional stands. You need the parts that came with your loader from the factory. Often times dealers discard these.

I have same fuel gage problem. Shows full all the time. Mine is L-3400. No other problems.
My B2650 does the same thing. I fill it more often now, I'm guessing it's stuck from overfilling to keep the condensation out?

Would be great if they would offer a 2 pedal option for the hydrostat-.
We sell both versions, I've always been a single pedal guy personally.
