“THAT’S a tire mark. That’s not from us”. 😂 Great video. I’m new to the game. And I’m starting my own business. so thank you.
How’s it going
What r ur prices brother. Im trying to get something going with this
@thingsgetwtfxx have a minimum and start at 25c per square foot. If the square footage doesn't come up to the minimum charge the minimum.
Nerd! Why not just charge by the amount of time it will take?
I was going to comment on that 😂😂😂
What is on the pre/post treat? And aside from that is it just a water wash? Great video and thanks for all you do. Looking forward to going out and trying to get a driveway today
I will add to the great advice Mike gives ,that keeping tips fresh and clean (not clogged) is important, also really really nasty driveways I will post treat with a roof pump ... SH and Degreasser and it will really make it pop, keep up the great content mike our industry needs more guys like you keeping it real. also dont be afraid to tell people what you can not get clean like oil stains etc.....
+dave mac good points! I totally should have discussed that in the video!!
Oil stains can certainly be cleaned using the right solution depending on the stain. I have NEVER found a stain I can't remove.
@@FactsMattersUSA how do you rid of old set in oil stains? I bought a house and the driveway is littered with oil spots
@@FactsMattersUSA What do you use?
@@FactsMattersUSA Seriously? Have you found something that will get up those copper looking stains that I think probably came from a golf cart battery or similar liquid?
So I've only used this pressure washer one time. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP The one time I used it, it worked great. I recently had new siding installed but kept the old gutters and small areas surrounding my house that weren't replaced so they looked horrible and dirty because of the new siding. I needed to get it cleaned asap. When I used the pressure washer, man it just melted all the dirt and grime that was on those areas of my house. I used that krud kutter soap and it was over after that. Easy to assemble, feels durable, very simple to use. Also, I purchased a used one to save money and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I want to get more use out of it so I think I'll be washing the cars and update this comment as time goes on.
What do you do to reclaim all that water? Can't drain it to the street, so what do you guys do with all those chemicals, grease, etc from the runoff?
Pre treatment and post treatment, what chemical do you use?
You can pretreat with SH or a degreaser and then post treat with a diluted Or downstreamed SH.
@@StreamMastersPW what's an SH?
@@jpjp9111 sodium hypochlorite or bleach
When you talk post treatment when you’re done do you just spray it on and leave it???
Yes, just spray and leave it on.
What’s in a post treatment? Tia
@@JuanRamos-bo7xe you can post-treat with the same mix you pre-treat with.
@@guardvids12 sodium hypochlorite?
@@pyroflame4life yes using you SH mixture for pretreat, just restraint on lightly and evenly
Thank you so much for your videos!! Just found your channel. Im new to pressure washing, one thing im curious about that would be a great video is, for pressure washing a residential driveway, are you hooked up to the clients hose line, or a large water tank truck / truck mount? can you complete a job like this using either way? A video explaining the different setups when starting out would be super informative thanks.
Yes. You hook up to their water
@allaboutpressurewashing. What machine do you use to spray your pre treat? I am trying to find a sprayer that will have enough pressure to pretreat driveways and all shoot far enough to spray sidings of houses. Just wondering what you use because i do not think a pump sprayer will get the job done. thanks for the help.
Pump up won't do the job - we use a pressure washer with a downstream injector or a 12v Softwash pump
Chemical won’t damage the edge of the lawns ?
Good video Sr, very professional! I would like to do this work in Canada but speaking about this I do not really get the post and pre treatment stuff. To do the pre treatment do I need to use what chemicals? And where do I put those chemicals? In an external container with his own trigger and pistol? Do I need to sprayed all the driveway with the chemical? and how long do I need to leave it waiting untiel I start to wash it? And about the post treatment, do I use a different chemical? I just need to spray it and leave it on? Thank you!
+Joel SG bit.ly/HowToWash101 will help you a ton!
Super useful info. Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Hello Mike. What is a decent pressure washer to start with?
Quick question what’s a good electric power washer and a surface cleaner that would work for driveways??
Electric won't work well
@@AllAboutPressureWashing bummer cause I don’t think I can take a gas powered one around with me all day in the trunk of my car but I wanted to start somewhere
@@AllAboutPressureWashing do u got a recommendation for a first pressure washer to get ??
So when post treating do you just spray the bleach and leave it to dry?
We do

what do you use to spray the sodium hypochlorite? i’ve heard it’s bad to use the pressure washers to do so.
how many gallons off water and how much 12.5% bleach and how much surfactant for a drive way of that size? Also what do you use as post treatment, just water?
What would you say is the max psi and GPM for a very nice aggregate driveway to avoid erosion between all the tiny pebbles? We have some mold/mildew in areas and some moss that has a very firm grip. What chemicals besides pool chlorine would you recommend? Thanks!!
Hi I’m new subs here and now just recently owned house with concrete driveway. I have questions, if the driveway is mix with organic dirts and grease/oil stains, can I mix SH with Degreaser or I have to treat it separately? And Thank you for the tips in the video sir.
Hi like you video me and my wife decided to buy a driveway cleaner so what we would like to know how do u determine how mush to charge your client?any information would help thanks
what do you recommend for chemicals to wash the driveways and to finish off when it's dry?
+Giovani Palacios SH to pretreat and post treat. You shouldn’t be hanging around long enough for the concrete to dry.
If you don’t overlap though wouldn’t it still leave streaks? Cause there’s than 1-2 inch gap from the previous
Should not leave streaks that what the pre and post treat is for
It’s okay if you over lap but make sure you aren’t going fast and that u use pre post treat
What’s your opinion of surface cleaners with casters vs no casters?
Can you do a video on hose recommendations? I’ve got the Simpson dual braid and that thing is so hard to lug around. It’s exhausting so I can’t imagine that’s the best option
Just watched this video to get some tips on pressure washing. Planning on starting my own little side business. Any tips or suggestions?
at the end of the job do you wait until the next day for it to dry so the client can see it to collect payment or do you collect payment right after while the drive way is still wet.
I send an invoice and they can pay whenever
What do you use for your pre and post treatment?
I've seen alot of videos about legality issues with pressure washing and how i could be fined but should i be worried about all that?
+Bagel consult your local municipality
Simple, short, effective video
Can you still do jobs in the winter ? Trying to see if its still going to be worth starting right now
It all depends on where you live.
@@AllAboutPressureWashing im in dallas texas what do you think
When you are doing a pre treatment, do you covering storm drains? If so, what do you cover then with?
This is a very important step that I haven’t seen anyone discuss. You should always use Stormwater inlet protection when using chemicals
I'm getting in touch with my state's DEP tomorrow to ask some questions about this. Everything I've seen so far seems to point toward mitigating runoff and capturing water, whether it has chemicals in it or not. I think it may have to be disposed of on site as well, and shouldn't be transported off site. Safe bet is to probably capture as much as possible and dump it nearby, on the grass or in the woods.
when you pre-treat and post-treat, do you use neutralizer on the plants or soak them first?
Awesome demonstration my man. Appreciate you sharing the knowledge.
+ÂẞMR Lalo Puga 👍🏻
Alright so I watched this and have a question, and can not seem to find the answer on most sites. So everyone is saying that washing your driveway into the sewer is illegal and you need a water recover system. I watched yours as all the videos are super helpful, but did not see one here, so was it just down stream or is there times when you wont need to recover the water? Thank you!
+REPO it's not illegal - people are idiots and talk out of their ass most of the time. Maybe in California or some other liberal state - but not where we live.
What chemicals do you use in everything ?
+Benancio Irazaba Is that question a joke?
Great video. One question. You say you generally start at the highest point and let gravity do the work. Other channels say they start at the bottom, so they never have to deal with a puddle of water at the end of the driveway. Would just like your input. EDIT: how would you go about removing tire marks? I know of ways but it would include partially damaging the concrete. Seeing as how it is melted rubber, maybe a torch and then rinse? Or a chemical that removes rubber?
+ThisIsMyUsername there will be a puddle at the end of the driveway regardless of where you start. That's gravity. Staying at the top allows gravity to help push the dirt and water to the lowest point. There is no right or wrong way - do what works best for you.
Tire marks are removed with pressure washing, the tire marks in that video were made after we had cleaned the driveway- I went back a few days later.
@@AllAboutPressureWashing well that was quick lol. Thanks for the reply!
that wouldn’t make sense, if you start at the bottom, all the dirt you’re washing on the way up will go over the spots you already hit at the bottom
We want to purchase a surface cleaning machine...could you recommend?
@@vannaraphoeuk2196 true but the dirt is not stuck so all you do is take a quick rinse vs fighting a puddle of water at the bottom you have to wade through. To each their own.
If I may ask what kind of pre treatment did you use ?
I love short to the point videos. I hate the channels that tell their life story .
do you use your own water or the customers water?
Great Vid. Direct to the point!
Thx

Pre/post treatment makes a world of difference. I did a driveway and it looked almost bad as when I started due to all the acorn stains that were camouflaged by the mildew. After the post treatment that driveway was popping. I'm from the area. See your trucks out there. Keep the videos coming. 👍💯

How much "Pool Essentials" do I need for an average-sized 2 car width driveway? Any recommendations on gallons per 1,000 square feet of concrete?
+R.A.M. Productions Hey there, I have never used pool essentials, But if I'm not mistaken that is 10% SH that you can buy at Walmart? I can't really give you concrete numbers because I don't know what machine are using (GPM), how you are applying it, what's your mix ratio is, your injector pull ratio if you're using that. +Glen Salder Pre-and post treatment is about 1.5%. We do not reclaim.
@@AllAboutPressureWashing thanks for your reply. How do to prevent runoff from entering a storm drain?

What did you use for post treatment?
SH
Mike, I'm reaching out to local pressure washing companies to have my 40 year old concrete slab driveway washed (in New England, mostly dirt and grime, no oil spots). Some tell me they only use water, some say heated water only, and some say they use product, such as F9 GROUNDSKEEPER. Should I avoid those that are only planning on using water?
+bobriensan It’s hard to say without seeing it, typically in the south, we pre-treat with sodium hypochlorite to kill any living organisms that might be embedded in the concrete, such as mold or mildew. But hot water and water only can be just as effective, not knowing your area it’s hard to say. But yes you can have the same great results if there is nothing living that needs to be killed.
Noob question. Post treatment should always be done using a surface cleaner?
+BxBezel 812 it all depends on the job, some need it, some don’t. Typically a pre-treatment is going to be needed more than a post treatment.
@@AllAboutPressureWashing Let’s say the job is a driveway or a walkway and a post treatment will really bring out great results. Would you use a surface cleaner or just spray it down? What would be the best method?
+BxBezel 812 A pre-treatment and a post treatment are used in conjunction with a surface cleaning. We are down streaming a house wash mix on the concrete prior to or after we surface clean. Some people will use a soft wash system to put a higher concentration solution on the concrete which might provide good results, but we prefer surface cleaning and down streaming the pre-and post treatment as needed per each individual job. I hope that answers your question
Great question - you might benefit from this new course we are about to drop- thecommission.kartra.com/page/HowToWash
what surface cleaner can i use with a 2.4 GPM pressure washer. I am starting out and dont really want to spend 1000 dollars on a 4.0 GPM Pressurewasher. Love the video by the way!
Do you use customers water or your own
What chemicals you use?
Can I just buy a SH from Walmart and use that? And do I have to dilute it?
Thanks for the free education. Appreciate your always invaluable content.
Awesome video, Mike!
+Blades of Grass Lawn Care, LLC thank you sir
What is the pre and post treat spray made out of? Also could a use a pump sprayer with it?
+Alex Chwedczuk sh and water - yes you could
I see the pre-treating is with the soap/chlorine mix, but are you also using this mix as you run the surface cleaner? I'll look for your post-treatment info...
No, no chemical comes through when we are surface cleaning.
@@AllAboutPressureWashing Thank you. I feel so stupid asking some of these questions, but I'll get there.
What would you recommend to someone starting out small just doing driveways about run off like how do you keep water and chemicals from leaving the driveway and down the street so you don’t violate the clean water act
Check with your local municipalities to see what regulations and rules you need to follow.
It's bleach, soap and water. It's classified as gray water when it leaves your washing machine and gray water can be dumped right on the ground. Degreasers are also used in laundry applications and many are all natural. Nothing in your mix should cause any harm to the street or water table in the amounts they should be mixed. Who cares anyway? Our government isn't even legit anymore. Hasn't been for decades. Send me the bill if you get an EPA fine washing driveways and I'll tell them where they can shove it.
Are you leaving the solution from the post-treatment down or is the driveway getting rinsed again?
Hello but what’s your house wash mix? I’m guessing you mixed some chemicals up or just water?
+Lui Sanchez yes - buy how to wash
Are you just using SH as the pretreatment? What’s the post treatment? Thanks.
+K T yes and same
@@AllAboutPressureWashing are you reclaiming the water at all? If so, are you just putting it right back on the property? Thanks
so you post treat with SH with same percentage of SH as a pre treatment ?
+ammar malik 1.5% is about the highest mix you can get with down streaming
What do you do if the driveway is covered with leaves or a bunch of dirt.
You should probably blow it off with a leaf blower of something
@@SmpsnsClps That's what I figured but I didn't know if that's part of the service or if it's something extra or what?.
Are tire marks the day after an inevitable thing or is there a way to keep fresh tire marks off?
+Fit_dre97 only if they don't drive on the driveway
@@AllAboutPressureWashing lol I love it! Thank you! I was kinda stressed after my first couple jobs having gone by a few days later to see the marks. Didn’t know if it was cause of lack of post treatment.

nice thanks for the help.. im at my first home doing my Best Tim Allen... Ogh Ogh ogh ... anyway thanks im a rookie and you made it simple and clear
how are you getting a hot enough mix with downstreaming? shouldn’t it be around 5% on concrete?
+02therocket I’m confused by the question. If you are only spraying down chemical and not surface cleaning, then you might need to go as hot as 5%. Their are some Softwash guys that do not have a pressure washer or surface cleaner so that is how they do it. That scares me because of the grass which would be killed if not properly managed. But with surface cleaning, a pretreatment and post treatment is perfect.
