Realistically, you don't need majority of this to get started. This is a setup you should invest in once the business takes off. Guys if you buy a surface cleaner, make sure to get the proper nozzles for it based on your gallons per minute. If you are running a 4gpm machine, get 2.0 nozzles for both your nozzles. This will allow your washer to do a good job and maintain proper water pressure to the surface your cleaning.
I've heard the ratio is 1:4 - For every 1 gallon per sec from your pump, your surface cleaner can widen 4 inches. So a 4 gpm would max out with a 16" cleaner.

Haha omg just looking at some of these petty comments 😂. Seriously thanks Austin your videos have helped me learn so much as I get ready to launch my business. May blessings abound in your life.
My buddy and I are on our way into jumping in on this profession. By trade I'm a concrete finisher and he a licensed mechanic but we want to supplement our incomes. We plan on just starting off doing driveways. We're building our own trailer to tow behind his new diesel truck to save money and as luck has it my little Sister is in the marketing/sales field. Not to mention she's a genius at it so we have a lot going for us. You video was incredibly helpful. We will be going with your recommendations. Greatly appreciated. 🇺🇲🤙
I'm just a homeowner. I've rented a gas pressure washer before and recently I bought an electric pressure washer from Costco. I have to say that the pressure and the volume of water from the rented one cleans at a quicker pace. It ran at a higher pressure and it sprayed out more water. The electric one I bought can clean the same drive way and side walks but it takes quite a bit more time. Even when I'm looking at videos of someone using good professional gas pressure washers it's obvious the volume of water being sprayed out is quite a bit more than what an electric one does. I guess if one were to buy a 240v powered electric pressure washer it would speed up the cleaning. But the price increase will be at least 4 to 5 times higher.
Have now used this to clean house siding and it performed well ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX I also bought some wand extensions which enabled higher washing without needing a ladder. I recommend both. This unit arrived quickly, was easy to assemble (only had to attach the handle), and arrived in perfect condition. The only very slight downgrade from a perfect score is the design has a low handle and requires pulling from the side. My old washer was an upright model, while this one is more horizontal. Other than that, it's perfect for my needs. It has a great deal of pressure and more easily cleaned the house siding, porch rails and concrete than did my older model. The engine is a bit louder, as well, but the total time to clean was reduced by the more powerful spray. Did I mention it starts on the first or second pull every time?!! I am definitely happy with this model.
im 13, im probably gonna try this in summer or even sooner, ill wait for this stuff and see if i can even find customers in a town of 800 people, if i do ill probably use my dad's electric pressure washer

Thanks, just bought about 500 bucks worth of the stuff you linked. Hmm haven't heard of the whipline, hopefully it works lol. In this case I won't have to keep removing the pressure washer from the van if I understand correctly? As far as I understand with this setup I connect to the customers water with a hose then the whipline connects from the hose reel to the pressure washer so I won't have to move & remove the pressure washer everytime? Just not sure if only 100 ft of the pressure washing hose will suffice.
For the surface cleaner you said you prefer the one with caster wheels but the link you provided for this surface has no wheels or are they just not in the pictures provided.? Thanks 🙏🏽

One thing witch is 5he biggest thing you didn't mention is the side of hoses and whips they make all the difference the bigger the better other than that your spot on but the size of hoses will make or break anyone's set up go big or go home I run 250 ft no issues on a 4 gpm I run the fattest hoses in can find
I run a painting company and I've been on the fence about moving into pressure washing as well, since I sub it all out. This video was very helpful thank you
How do you use the downstream injector with numerous chemicals besides your bleach tank? Do you just remove the DSI hose into a different chemical tank?
@@daltondavis9568 read the directions. Most will say if you can use a downstream injector. You can downstream most degreasers and soaps. Some special chemicals.
great one boss man you are by far the best at coaching. And making sure that its broken down so well that everyone can get it! so if i may ask I wouldn't don't need a buffer tank? I can work from my skid from the back of the truck
What about tanks? sizes you prefer? Could you possibly make a video on different types of chemicals and mixes? How much do you mix? What type do you use for certain surfaces. Then possibly on how ou figure a cost for the work? I really found your video super super helpful. I honestly mean that. I was thinking $10k startup. Any preference on heater for hot water?
Thanks for your video, very educative. Question, when you go to do a residential power washing cleaning, where do you get the water from, do you have a water tank set up or you use the owners water?
@@nonstickwater yes it’s normal to simply hook up to their water. It should be assumed you’re using their water. If there’s ever an issue let them know the options that you cannot do the job because of no water source. If it’s an issue with them let them know u simply can’t do it. Thanks for posting.
Yea yea people on UA-cam will say that buy I only used 20in with my 4GPM and it was perfect.
Thanks for the info. We have a pressure washer gx390 with comet 4040 pump.
Which surface cleaner would you recommend? I'm trying to find a good one in the $400 range. Some that's not crappy..
Thanks again.
@@05glisedan I would just get a BE wirl away
@Austin Davis I use the 20"with a 2.8gpm. Does great slower than a 4.0 but does get it done.
Can’t wait to see all the rigs for sale on marketplace 😊
Seriously.
Haha no kidding
What type of cleaner would you use for like houses, concrete, etc.
Bleach
@@AustinDavis24 just bleach or just mix it with water?
Good video, good explanation on each item that is needed
I extremely like the video, man. Very helpful and informative. Thank you very much. It is presented so well too. Great, positive work.
Hey Austin I really appreciate this video it too will help me on this pressure washing business. Thank you !
Thank you so much for your advice!!! Deeply appreciated
Thx
Do you need a water tank with all this beginner equipment? Where will the downstream injector pull any of the degreaser or any other chemicals from with this set up?
Hey man, really loving your content. Finally pulled the trigger on buying all my equipment and getting started in this business. What size tanks would you recommend getting for water, SH, and surfactant? I’m using a 4gpm machine with a soft wash system all on a 5x8 trailer. I plan on just doing smaller residential jobs for now. Thank you!
bro, I just got a BigYao 3800PSI High Electric Pressure Washer.
It's working great. It's cheap from China or whatever.... but it's got more PSi than most the high end ones.
PSI Dosent really mean anything when it’s over 2700 PSI. It’s all about GPM
thanks, i am thinking about starting a pressure washing company here in japan. just seems like alot of moldy looking homes, not sure why but i feel like i could make a killing if i offered affordable prices.
What's your opinion on RYOBI brand?
For house hold use. Not for business use likenus
Can you clean cedar plank privacy fence with a 4 gallons per minute pressure washer ?
This is a fantastic video man!
Thank you!
You ROCK AUSTIN!!!
When cleaning a home with solvents how do you avoid the solvent from going down the stormsewer?
Very helpful, thumbs up given!
For the surface cleaner you said you prefer the one with caster wheels but the link you provided for this surface has no wheels or are they just not in the pictures provided.? Thanks 🙏🏽
Man I love your channel I really going for it
Hi Austin, I have a question about what size surface cleaner can I use with my pressure washer 4000psi - 3.5GPM with Honda GX270 Engine? Thank for your video.
You didn’t talk about insurance to cover liabilities and any accidentally broken windows or electrical issues. We do need insurance right.? Other than that you covered a lot of info very well thank you sir 😎👍🏽
This video was very helpful thank you
Thank you! Make sure you get everything in this video. You’ll need it
@@AustinDavis24 ya for under 3k its a no brainer. The guy I sub to usually does a house for $400 so I'll save money after only a handful of houses
@@RocMerc exactly!
Great video - thanks for all the info.
My question is “what chemicals do i need when starting out”?
Thanks
Lazy ass painter
I was always told not to buy a pressure washer with 4.0gpm due to house spigets not being able to put out the appropriate psi to maintain the 4.0gpm
How do you use the downstream injector with numerous chemicals besides your bleach tank? Do you just remove the DSI hose into a different chemical tank?
Yea if the chemical you want to use can be downstreamed then you can just put the dipstick directly into your chemical that you want to pull from
@AustinDavis24 can u down stream any chemical?
@@daltondavis9568 no.
@@AustinDavis24 how do you know what chemicals can and which ones cannot
@@daltondavis9568 read the directions. Most will say if you can use a downstream injector. You can downstream most degreasers and soaps. Some special chemicals.
great one boss man you are by far the best at coaching. And making sure that its broken down so well that everyone can get it! so if i may ask I wouldn't don't need a buffer tank? I can work from my skid from the back of the truck
You don’t need a buffer tank for this setup. You can plug the machine directly into the spigot
@@AustinDavis24 great so I can do up to 2oo feet of garden hose or will I lose pressure thanks in advance
@@chrisdavis1681 you will never lose pressure
@@AustinDavis24 thanks boss man 🤝
How can i get a protocol from you, Austin? step by step how you set up for a housewash+driveway and actually do the job. Thanks! Super helpful video
Honda are best at everything
hey what's up btw whats a ideal psi I should be looking for
Do you have a video of your set up and the different chemicals you use? Or have a missed it somewhere?
What about tanks? sizes you prefer? Could you possibly make a video on different types of chemicals and mixes? How much do you mix? What type do you use for certain surfaces. Then possibly on how ou figure a cost for the work? I really found your video super super helpful. I honestly mean that. I was thinking $10k startup. Any preference on heater for hot water?
Great Video! Keep Up The Great Work!
Thanks for your video, very educative. Question, when you go to do a residential power washing cleaning, where do you get the water from, do you have a water tank set up or you use the owners water?
I've got the same question. Is it normal just to hook up to their water?
@@nonstickwater yes it’s normal to simply hook up to their water. It should be assumed you’re using their water. If there’s ever an issue let them know the options that you cannot do the job because of no water source. If it’s an issue with them let them know u simply can’t do it. Ofcourse in better words then this lol
Do you have a personal vehicle? Or just a company truck that you use for business and personal?
Great video. Much appreciated
