I ADORE the fuzz and the chorus/phase sound phenom; I fear I must have the entire collection
Their compressor and phaser are funktastic
The Distortion on Si mode sounds a lot like an OCD. Which is awesome, I've always loved that sound.
True!
great demo
Personally I think the compressor is the only one that I would put on my pedal board. Not that the other pedals are bad but it’s just that you can find better on the market.
Oh that Tame Impala thing at the end.. Loved it! Feel sorry for the Distortion though 😔😂
haha, the distortion redeemed itself at the end!
Is the compressor after a cranked ts9 aLa trey Anastasio from phish.
They don't have the Naugahyde look but there actually are current day amps under the Kustom Amplification name. Not sure what the connection is to the original, probably just the current rights holder who bought it from Baldwin or whoever they sold it to.
The compressor is so good
Yes!
They sound great but not $190 great.
Just checked the prices on some different pedals. Most pedals manufactured like this (medium-sized companies) cost equally or more to the Ross pedals. But for sure, you can get some good pedals for less than these. I think these are really good though!
Hard to say but the fuzz and distortion for me
Cool that they keep the line alive like this, but aren't all of these cloned to infinity and back and incorporated into more advanced designs by this point? I mean it proves that the basic building blocks were good, but they are just that - basic. Who was first though? I always took Ross for MXR copies.
You are right on all those point but come on, injecting common sense into a nostalgia marketing plot is gonna ruin it! 😂
I mean honestly if you want a Ross compressor I heard the joyo one is a clone and that's like less than 50 euro. I think they've change the circuit a bit though
Bingo. Analogman has offered a better version of the Ross compressor for years and years. This whole exercise is kind of pointless.
Im so getting the compressor
I'm curious. What type of music do you play? I'm a fan of compressors, but never understood the fascination with extreme, dynacomp styled compressors
lol I like how you can tell exactly which pedal they are emulating with the colors
They're emulating the original Ross pedals...
I bet that bright setting on the compressor is basically the janglebox that Roger mcguinn used, I've heard that's basically a Ross compressor with some cap changed to make it boost treble
What is that fuzz? Kind of sounds like a rat to me but sounds like it's rebiasing the more you turn it up. Weird.
I mention it in the video. Based on a circuit on Kustom amps. Sounds really good
I think I found a replacement pedal... ROSS Fuzz
🤝

What about it?
Which one is your favorite of the 5?
That chorus did sound pretty good
I think they sound great layered in that little tame impala bit at the end. Also, I contacted the guys echo pedals about their tricky baboon after watching your review. Kris is making me up a custom unit in a dual pedal. Tricky Baboon with an octave up. Stoked, glad you did the review I would never have seen them here in Australia otherwise. That baboon is a killer pedal
