- a blue cat named Jof from the old What A Cartoon Show pricks his finger and must go to the hospital. doctors try to perform ridiculous tests on him but he manages to escape. i love how the doctors yell whenever they're summoned
I remember watching this with my big sister back in the 90s and we would cry laughing. I lost her to suicide a month ago. It brings tears to my eyes watching it now, but it also makes me so happy seeing this and remembering how much joy we got from it. Miss you, sister ❤

I can't get over how poignant this cartoon is. It illustrates precisely what it feels like when you go to the hospital; you may have a simple problem, but the doctor's status and examinations are considered way more important than the patient.
this cartoon is an exceptional lesson in customer service and overall service design. It;'s unbelivable in how many organizations this is literally the customer's experience (not just hospitals)
I've been searching for this for sooooo long. I watched this few times as a teen and always laughed at those assistants' tribal yells. That's why I wanted to see it again. Finally! lol
me too!! was looking for this cartoon because the thing i remembered the most...was the assistants yelling around like a tribe from the jungle

This is how hospital bills are racked up so high because the doctors looks at everything else BUT the problem. A message in this cartoon I didn't get when I was a teen, but as a parent I get now.

This was made in Europe by veteran Italian animator Bruno Bozzetto, exclusively for Hanna-Barbera in 1995.
Prior to this stint, Bozzetto was renowned...and still is to this day...for making vignettes for the European telly & cinema screens.
I love the tribal babble the little assistants let out every time they chased the cat.

Very accurate cartoon, LOL.
The fact that that doctor is still in business despite the fact that he is willing to harm and torture innocent patients proves how mean spirited, villainous and antagonistic he is.
My late mother used to laugh when this cartoon was aired, specially when Jof (the cat) yelled "Help!".
The music from timestamp 1:16 to 1:23 with the finger drawn hospital signs in this cartoon looks like the intro music of Twin Peaks, composed by Angelo Badalamenti.

I used to see this all the time when I was little. I was born in 1991 and am SO glad I got to experience the golden age of childrens television. Moments such as Jof having to press the button with his bad finger, moving himself to the Dr, by moving the point anddrawing the door, the tribal chants by the doctors crazy assistants, and the doctor giving Jof "Playcat" and trying to kill him, brought me back to the 90's and my childhood. Thank you very much for posting, you made my day.

I. LOVED. THIS. CARTOON. It's really a one hit wonder really; the music, the characterizations and the lack of dialogue all go together so well.
And the fact that I'm laughing now as much as I did when I was like, 5 years old shows that this really stood the test of time.

I don't know why I'm getting this video recommended to me, but I probably learn something about the healthcare system.
Why does the hospital door buzzer sound like a school bell? I thought hospitals were generally supposed to be QUIET places.
But then again, with that crazy doctor and his assistants, it's probably quite noisy there frequently!
A good example in how to make a short that's virtually dialogue-free and still very entertaining. I love the tribal chants of the orderlies, and the underlying plot in that you can have a simple problem, but some people make it much more difficult than necessary!

I've gotta echo everyone else's comments, I'm so happy someone finally uploaded this. I don't think I admitted it when I was a kid, but this was probably one of the best "What A Cartoon"'s that they had. A childhood masterpiece.

lol. It's been a long time since I've seen this one. It was always one of my favorites. I think the whole "Tribal Yelling" when the doctors were summoned was to show how the common person doesn't understand medical speach, (there's the name doctors use for everything, then there's the simplified word that everyone else uses.) But, "Help" being the only clear word in the cartoon, for some reason always made me feel like this one needed to be in "Oh Canada" for some reason. Thanks for upload.

I love the fact he is doing a cross stitch of mice, when Jof screams his ospeguahos screams too and then he is doing a cross stitch of fish.
I also love it when the doctors are riding on horses and when they parachute in.

God this makes me feel really old. I loved this when i was younger. I forget how old i was though when i first saw this. I'm 18 now. Makes you realise that cartoons these days can't even hold a candle to cartoons from the 90's. This was really clever and funny.

Oh my gosh memories! My father once recorded a whole cassete of Carton Network shows randomly in 1996 and I remember this cartoon was on it! I was rewatching old shows so many times on it until this cassete got lost! Finally i found this little cartoon =)
Always felt so bad for poor little Jof. especially whenever he whimpered "Help"... Would've been better off just healing that injury himself, instead of dealing with those mad scientists who call themselves doctors.
I saw this cartoon as a kid and looked for it for a very, very long time.
