For people complaining that this is disjointed and makes no sense, Ralph Bakshi has disowned these couple of shorts made for Cartoon Network, on the grounds that they were so deeply altered and butchered with cuts that his original ideas had nothing to do with the released product.
+22freedom33 Knowing Bakshi's track record as well as Cartoon Network's target audience, this doesn't really surprise me. There's already a few things in here that were surprisingly uncut (such as the mention of breastfeeding, to name one thing).
Judging from the fact that Malcolm the cockroach was originally in Bakshi's classic film, Coonskin, as a part of a depressing monologue that I'm guessing was supposed to represent abandonment, I'm pretty sure this was supposed to be a lot darker than it already was. Personally, despite how rushed this short feels, I love it.
I'm surprised so many of you seem to actively hate this short. (I'm wondering if it's bias against Ralph Bakshi). The animation is so out there I can't help but glue my eyes to the screen. Yes, there are adult themes in this cartoon, just like they were in the Looney Tunes shorts we also grew up on...plus, why is that a con? Does everything have to be rainbows and lollipops? Personally it cracks me up (even more so the latin dub, which is stellar), and would kill for more of this stuff to be produced nowadays.
That's how good cartoons are supposed to be. Can't find animation like this anywhere. Personally I find the animation similar to Ren & Stimpy. If you wish, I drew artwork from this and the sequel 'Babe, He Calls Me" on my channel.

Complain all you want the animation in most scenes in this short are not only flawless like at 4:57-5:04(sexy as heck to me), but was still nostalgically genius. I dare anyone to try and copy these 90's animation styles and say they're lame. Sorry for being nostalgically passionate about this I have alot on my mind. ^v^;
