- How to edit slow motion video from your GoPro ? In this video I am showing you 3 different techniques you can use to get slow motion effect when editing in Davinci Resolve software on PC.
Davinci Resolve is a professional color grading and editing software and I have been using it for a couple of years now on my channel so I highly recommend it, and the best part about it is that it comes for free. You can try it out for yourself on your computer , see if it works for you and if you want to try some of the more advanced features you can make a decision and purchase it. However, if you want to make some simples edits its more than enough for you to use the free version.
This video is a continuation to my previous tutorial in which I was explaining how slow motion video from your GoPro actually works, I talk in there about different frame rates and whats the difference between them. If you want to learn more about slow motion in theory then I highly recommend you to check on that video here is the link to it:

Thx man, im going to buy my first gopro 10 soon for my fitnes chanel.
Hey as long as u use this came outdoor with good lighting cobditions u gonna be fine :)
Wow! Your videos are really helpful and super comprensibile! Question, if you slow down the video by changing the frame rate, what about the rendering part? If you shoot at 60 fps, then slow it down to 30 fps, what is going to be your rendering output format? Will you change it now to 30 fps? Or back at 60 fps. Do you also have a video on how to upload super HD videos on Instagram?
In this case your desired output will be 30 fps both during editing and rendering out
Unfortunately i dont have a video about instagram quality :/
Hi Tomasz,
very valuable tutorial, just what I needed 👌
On your tutorial (2:40), a window pops up "The clip(s) have a different frame rate than the current project settings".
In my case, this notification does not pop up - do you know how to recover it ?
Please check your projects settings before u import if it doesnt pop up then maybe these are the same so it wont pop up
I think by default should be 24 though
I understand what you showed us however what if we are using say a 30 fps timeline with multiple clips now we want to import clips shot at higher speeds into use on 30 fps timeline and play normal till we want a portion as you describe to be slo mo?
You have to do speed curve i believe i covered that in video as 3rd techniqe
Hi, how do you expand your video?
Hi Tomasz, thanks so much for your helpful video. I have shot footage in 120fps on my GoPro9. But I can't choose 29fps in my timeline settings in DaVinci Resolve? It is greyed out at 24 and I can't change it. I can only change the playback fps, so I can set that to 29. Is that a problem or how do I change the 24fps time line settings to 29? Thanks so much, really appreciate it!
Its probably because u have already import a viseo file.to your time.line ? First delete a video file and then change the fps
@@Tomasz.Nowacki Thanks Tomasz, I will try that. Yes I did already have clips on my timeline.
What are your DaVinci raw settings?
Default ones , i usually set it to match my clip
What does it mean when I right click to "attributes" and it says "custom" instead of a fps number?
It is a clip that I shot in slow motion on my GoPro9.
Thanks so much!
Perhaps u have versiom 17 ???
@@Tomasz.Nowacki I just checked, yes I have version 17.
Hi, on the second option when you changed the speed to 50% the frame rate went down to 14.89 why is that happening
Ohhh it only.shows lile.that assuming its.29.97 fps.footage, it plays like.it.should.cause the source file.is 60.fps
@@Tomasz.Nowacki cool... cheers for the info
This doesn't work for me with slo mo video from Ipad pro.
In this video i edit using Davinci Resole software , you cam do.some.basic edits and slowmo.on quik app if that helps
Can i get some help? I Shot some slowmo footage on my hero 8 today i believe at 2k at 120, first time trying to add a slow mo video to davinci, when i add it it says media offline, and it only plays audio. why is that?
Hmm usually media offline is when davinci cannot find a video file , probably you have moved the file to a different folder. Delete it in davinci and import again that should help
@@Tomasz.Nowacki all my media is in the same place. I have other media in the same folder, it's just the slow motions ones that dont work in davinci. Do you think I need to spend the 99cents on the Microsoft store to get the hevc codex? I can play the file in vlc player.
@@kazuma2006 hmm perhaps its about h265 too , do you have studio version ?
@@Tomasz.Nowacki I solved it, I needed the HEVC extensions, i bought it off the microsoft store, and now Davinci see's it.
Ohhh good to know ! I remember back in the days it was davinci fault not to see this file it was davi ci 14 i guess but i never had to buy hevc on my windows. I huess i just inslalled some codecs
how do you import gopro videos to davinci 17 help
Hey just pull it inside your media page or find a folder of your video.clip inside that page that should help
@@Tomasz.Nowacki I used GoPro charger and connected to laptop n nothing happened
Ohhh , please first take out the micro.sd card from your camera, use micro sd card adapter and then plug it into your computer.
If you have gopro dekstop app your files gonna be automatically downloaded
@@Tomasz.Nowacki we have encountered an issue using music that’s the nonfiction I got when I tried to edit with GoPro Quik yesterday and thanks will try again rn
Its normal , just tick you have all the rights to the music from what i k ow it should work
The version is payed or free?
U can get it either free or.paid. The free version is a little bit limited as you render without graphic card acceleration from.what i remember dont habe noise reduction and some.other features.
is your wife is filipino? she is beautiful
