Omg thank you so much for this informative video! Finally somebody actually shows the difference between the settings other than "blah blah blah these are the settings you should use" without any reason as to why.

Thanks for this great video. It's the best one I've seen for GoPro 9 settings. It's really informative with great explanations for each setting and examples to back them up. Awesome job!
What the f***? I’ve watched countless tutorials “explaining” GoPro settings and get confused and bored so quick with most just dragging out talking nonsense. But this, this is perfect. All that time wasted watching other crap and this one video answered all my questions quick and precise. My god sir, you have saved me.
Really ? ^^ haha i thought in the beginning you sre telling me my video was bad or sth haha I try to make.my videos as.easy to follow as.possible.so everyone cam learn from.them
@@Tomasz.Nowacki yes I’m not very tec savvy. I have ADHD and certain UA-camrs and accents drag out and I get bored and they don’t explain things properly. You explain how why quickly. Thank you again.
Thank you making these videos requires time and preparation , many times u go somewhere and the weather isnt just perfect and u come back home with nothing
2:25 ive found that the same image shot in lowlight will have far more noise in 5k than 4k. Ive read that the reason is cause gopro anti-noise system do downscale/upscale in video. This is very noticeable if you record at night or really dark areas. So, as a tip, in low light its better to record record in 4k.
Tomasz thanks for this video. The best video on the subject. I’m a hunter and many times I hunt before sunrise or after sunset. Other times at night and your video help me a lot. Thanks!
To see the diff of various fps you should move camera around, better around its axis, if fps is low, the faster you move it the blurrier image you will get.
This is the best explanation i saw on UA-cam 👍 Brother m from india m using gopro 10 and my footages r cming really bad and smtimes too dark in low light conditions or evening. This is my protune sett: Res 1080 bitrate high shutter auto ev comp -0.5 white balance auto iso min 100 iso max 1600 sharpness low Color flat. Plz recommend me wat settings i cn change for better footages in low light and in evening.
This camera has a very smal image sensor and honestly if there is not much lught u wont make a miracle with it , i would stick to max 800 iso, and 24 or 30 fps, 4k or 5k , ev 0 but u still need some good lighting
I really appreciate your detailed advice. In my newbie ignorance I used default settings to record a locked off wide shot of a Balinese Kecak dance rehearsal under low light and was devastated at the blurry moving faces. How could a 4K recording have such poor detail?!! Your settings suggestions make so much sense, especially to ditch Gopro colour for Flat. No more black crushing. :) Hopefully I'll have much better 2nd camera vision for the live performance in mid-October. Thanks you Tomasz!
I love the comparison of flat/edited flat/vibrant thart starts ~8:20 ! It really shows that using flat makes you able to recreate the natural real-life vibrant feel, and still save the information in the shadows. Now, 2 years later, do you remember roughly how you edited it? Was it only saturation and some contrast added to the flat, or did you use other color grading tools too? Do you have some sort of "go-to solution" for making flat more 'natural vibrant'?
That was qyuite a busy project and it took us a few good days to go to beatiful places and be there at the right moment to record it and not miss the light :)
Really great. I love this. Have watched some presentations on these settings but they normally just tell you what to use, I loved this run-through of WHY. Just one thing though... the volume of your music is wayyy too high, really out of sync with the volume of your talking, I got a shock every time the music came on and had to lower the volume quickly and keep lowering/ making it higher every time you changed between talking and music. Other than that, great
Great video Tomasz, I am using my Gopro as main vlog camera and Sony A7III for low light. My issue is that I often don’t carry both if its not planned and at the moment I’m in Japan and shot a low light video in Tokyo which turn out to be really bad on the gopro. There are lots of lights but not enough and I wish I saw this video before. I will go to Tokyo in a couple of days and try again, I will have the A7III just in case, but want to try your tips to see what I can create. Great video and I’ll sub, thank you 😊
My tips will help untill sunset and shortly after not much can be done with gopro Its not a camera for night shooting :/ my suggestion is use it untill golden hour
@@Tomasz.Nowacki i learnt many things about go pro, bcz. i bought this therefore you only the one who explained in the details. thanks, yes i have to watch others as well.
@@Tomasz.Nowacki i want a video from you as per your experienced about how to gopro hero rotate with shorty gimble by hand while recording. I mean what is the essential way to rotate by hands very smoothly and nicely , there should not be hand shaking up or down while recording. Thank you
Thank you so much for all this great info! I love the White balance graph with explanations. I've never seen that before and it was a hugh help in understanding how to use the settings for the white balance. However, I'm confused on settings in white balance for LED lighting. It's everywhere where I live and it makes the footage just look terrible indoors. Do you have suggestion for that?
U probably needd to set your white balabce to somewhere between 2800-4000kelvins i dont remember exactly which was the the correct but somehwere between these numbers untill it looks natural
I think you missed an important aspect about the frame pr second and thats the shutter speed. Its the shutter speed, which defines how much light is allowed to hit the sensor pr frame/picture - not frames pr second. The frame pr second is more important to understand is relation to have smooth your movement is in panning. F.ex if you pan at 24p at high shutterspeed, it will look like there is stutter. If you do the same at 60 fps, it will feel smooth.
I loved the video. Excellent explanations. Just a question as to which gimbal I should buy. Because I realized that you used a tax in the video and I couldn't find his link so I can purchase. Thank you very much in advance. I await your reply. Alexander. Of Brazil
I would say that gopro 9 has a really impressive stabilisation on its own , maybe not so great in low light though. If yoh still.want a gimbal then check out my other video ua-cam.com/video/259O9w09AL8/v-deo.html They have some nice features but these two gimbals still.need gopro.stabilisation to really look.good so.it can be still shaky in lowlight

Not really, u use higher fps which is ok for slow motion but cuts i half what your camera can see , use 4k in 24 or 30 fps instead
