Excellent review. I test drove this girl today and it is exactly as you described. The only thing that stopped me from signing the paper was the boot space and seats awkward folding. But overall best drive on a mini car ever! Well done Ford
I just had the Ford fiesta as a courtesy car in the zetec s 1.0 turbo and it is one of the best cars I have ever driven. It had plenty of power, brilliant handling, rides like a german saloon car and looks brilliant. Furthermore the fuel economy is amazing and the amount of equipment available is endless. I have just put in an order for the exact same spec.
I love the Fiesta. It's an awesome little car. I own a current-gen Focus hatch, but if I couldn't own that, I'd have the Fiesta Titanium in a heartbeat, especially if we Yanks got the diesel or the ecoboost...And now with the ST, that's totally an option. I'm hoping I can convince my fiancee's mum to buy a Fiesta; it's such a practical, frugal, yet not cheap and nasty car.
Best car on its class, more like a subcompact aston martin, won international engine of the year award 3 years in a row 2O12-14. got five stars on Euro Ncap Safety Rating, 2O14 Automotive Excellence Award for Handling, Won Car of the Year by Topgear and more than 22 other awards and ford used to own Jaguar & Aston martin. Check all the VS youtube videos with fiesta on it and fiesta always
Brilliant car, have you driven it? I've always owned Mazdas but I took a punt at the Fiesta 125 ecoboost Titanium and that engine coupled with the spec is phenomenal.
My 2009 Ford Fiesta (the previous version) also has voice commands to call people, control air conditioning and sound system, and it has USB and Bluetooth connection.
I found that the manual is hard to get used to. I over rev really badly as when you accelerate it just doesn't seem to do much and then all of a sudden the revs pick up. Other than that it's a great car to drive.
I've seen the sedan up close too. It looks a bit like a mondeo that's been squeezed from the sides, and it still sits on a hatchback-y stance so the boot looks like its too high up...
What do you mean? People just wanted to know how well the 3 cylinder would do against the regular 1.6 , but definitely the 3 cylinder can save alot more fuel than the 1.6
There's a reason for that - it is a BRILLIANT drive, and with the EcoBoost engine you'll wonder why you ever need an engine bigger than this. The Focus 1.0 EcoBoost is just as fantastic to drive too. I am in the leasing industry with no ties to anyone, but having driven these cars along with most other vehicles available you'd really have to be a blind fool not to understand why these are rated so highly. The best advice I can give? Drive one before passing judgement and looking a fool.
i'm almost 17, i'm thinking whether i should buy the Vauxhall Corsa (probably 06-08 model) or the Ford fiesta Zetech? any ideas? and which will be better on insurance and which is just the overall best!!? much appreciated.
No, a USB is a connector port for your ipod or flash drive, and axillary port is 3.5mm to 3.5mm, so anything with a normal sized headphone port you can play music from.
Oh dear, when I said "you'll" I wasn't talking about you, but in general terms. If you get a chance to drive & compare it directly to rivals it's easy to see why it's awarded a top score in spite of shortcomings because it is such a brilliant drivers car - light years ahead of the competition in that respect. The unfortunate aspect is that many of the cars buyers won't actually appreciate this to the full. I don't care if you care or not about my job - I was just illustrating my impartiality.
I gave have a door 2012 model, great to drive, rear end is stiff and the car can skip around a bit, I believe they have made the rear suspension more compliant? Don't get one with Continental tyres, the front are half gone at 13000 kms; and for the first time in my life I experienced aquaplaning at 50kph!
Yes, the diesel engines (not all of them) are from PSA (Peugeot Citroen) and they are quite good. Volvo , Range Rover, and Mini also borrowed PSA diesels and BMW is thinking of replacing some of their diesel engines with PSA giving PSA in exchange the THP petrol engine technology.
I had this car (5 doors) as lessoncar, and I loved it. I don't agree on the headroom point, because I'm 2 metres tall and had enough headroom in the back.
the 2008 Ford Fieasta was ACTUALLY designed (and gorgeous if you ask me). The 2013 - 2017 one was new for new sake with a half-arsed design - it felt like two cars smooshed together. At least in 2019-2021 they actually put some effort in.
Welcome back matt....if anyone who needs to sue big time....it has to be Toyota for example Toyota IQ....what did Aston Martin do they have gone and taken the Toyota IQ and stuck Aston Martin grill on it with Aston Martin badge on it..., guess how much it is starting is £30,000 with extras probably gonna go upto £80,000 compared to Toyotas' IQ starting is £10,000 what a rip off by Aston Martin
I have the 2012 fiesta titanium and except the DAB Radio, and the voice phone its the same I can control the radio and things by voice and it has Bluetooth to stream music from my phone wireless, also you can control it from the steering wheel. I don't think ill be upgrading any time soon to the new one. Also i wouldn't have the boring 3 cylinder I have the 1.4Petrol and it happily cruises on the motorway silent and 70+ I love it it cannot be matched by anything else in its class.
Why are the European Ford Fiestas better built than the ones in the USA? Does ford here in American just swap out all the quality bits of the car for cheaper poorly made parts? Just curious...
Austin Noriega the expectations are much higher in Europe. there's a difference with all car brands and their build quality Europe vs USA. however, cars come much cheaper in America.
Pretty much, yes. In most of Europe, you can get through life without a car if you live in a city, in the US cars are pretty much a necessity so they need to be affordable. I had a rental Focus for a week in Detroit and it looked exactly like the one in Germany but the suspension was overly soft (Americans like it that way), panel gaps were very uneven and the interior looked flimsy compared to the lowest German spec. It's different markets so you gotta sell what the people want and are used to.
America puts better suspension, parts etc on the bigger suvs and trucks because that is where americans are willing to pay more money. Unfortunately, americans will not spend much money on very small cars. On the other hand, europeans tend to buy smaller cars and are willing to pay a premium for better build quality in smaller cars.
The definitive answer is. Ford has many manufacturing plants, most of the US ones are built in Mexico, the European ones are built in Germany & Spain. Germans are meticulous with quality control and if you are lucky enough to get a Ford built in Germany, you will find it is of comparable build quality to an Audi. You would have to live in Europe to experience this unfortunately. I'm in the UK & my Fiesta is of comparable build quality to my fathers Audi.
I own the 1.0 3 cylinder engine titanium version of this car and a 56 plate 1.6 zetec s fiesta. Obviously the zetecs s is better at handling and very revy in comparison, but the 1.0 engine is brilliant! I t has a lot of torque at pulling away and handles brilliantly. I have the 125ps version (more than the zetec s) and it is a fab car. I am averaging 39mpg on a ten minute drive a day. The 5 door is plenty big enough, and i can also fit two Labradors in the back of mine.Overall deceivingly quick!
So it has a cramped and badly made interior, with small backseats and very badly designed boot, but because it is the most fun car to drive in its class therefore it's the best???
I drove one at the weekend and found it very nice but immediately noticed the wobbly center console and tacky feel to that plastic lid. Still buying one though...
its the best because its the most awarded subcompact car in history, type it on your google ' ford fiesta 2014 awards'. its more reliable than nonsense youtube comments.
pretty sure my 09 style+ has bluetooth with voice control and ford audio streaming so that bit isnt actually true. Still not sure on the sony system when touching it can feel very plastic and lots of buttons to accidentally press. The ecoboost engine and mainly the way it drives (along with most fords) are the things that would stop me from getting a yaris or polo as its so fun and actually quite comfy for a small car.
Rebecca was with me at that time
😂😂😂😂😂
Yep
Drove one of these today, absolutely brilliant, extremely fun to drive and the gearbox was brilliant!
Excellent review. I test drove this girl today and it is exactly as you described. The only thing that stopped me from signing the paper was the boot space and seats awkward folding. But overall best drive on a mini car ever! Well done Ford
That fiesta looks absolutely beautiful
I can't believe they never mentioned the gearbox! The gear change is so slick on this car it's like the bolt on a rifle!
Honestly the best small car money can buy!
Daniels30 it's a good and reliable car and built quality is good
Really contemplating to buy that car now as my first car 🥺
I just had the Ford fiesta as a courtesy car in the zetec s 1.0 turbo and it is one of the best cars I have ever driven. It had plenty of power, brilliant handling, rides like a german saloon car and looks brilliant. Furthermore the fuel economy is amazing and the amount of equipment available is endless. I have just put in an order for the exact same spec.
I MISS YOU SO MUCH MAT!! WELCOME BACK...
the fiesta is still fun to drive. I think the grill makes the front more better looking. Its a great car to drive every day.
I agree with the best small car to drive, Ford fiestas are being used in quite a few outdoor and indoor racings all over the world.
Alright, thank you for taking the time to make me feel confident that i made the right choice.
I drove the fiesta with dual clutch auto here in las vegas and i have to say i love it.
Best car on its class, more like a subcompact aston martin, won international engine of the year award 3 years in a row 2O12-14. got five stars on Euro Ncap Safety Rating, 2O14 Automotive Excellence Award for Handling, Won Car of the Year by Topgear and more than 22 other awards and ford used to own Jaguar & Aston martin. fiesta 2O14 is the most awarded subcompact car in history it just won another award 7 days it won at AM awards 2O15
Brilliant car, have you driven it? I've always owned Mazdas but I took a punt at the Fiesta 125 ecoboost Titanium and that engine coupled with the spec is phenomenal.
Haha. Nice joke about bananas.
My 2009 Ford Fiesta (the previous version) also has voice commands to call people, control air conditioning and sound system, and it has USB and Bluetooth connection.
Good to see mat back
I found that the manual is hard to get used to. I over rev really badly as when you accelerate it just doesn't seem to do much and then all of a sudden the revs pick up. Other than that it's a great car to drive.
good to see you back Mat!
I tried the 1.4 lpg, the engine is actually quite brilliant... didn't expect it
Very cool review.
I like this car.
Right now it looks even better.
Matt is back yessssss
Few testers have been saying that the 3 cylinder turbo is slightly slow on acceleration compared to the 1.6 4 cylinder.
Matt is back!!!!!!!
love my 2013 fiesta and especially new grill look.gives it more class in my opinion
- in 2/3 yrs time I will definitely buy another
I really love how he mention aston and iphone
I've seen the sedan up close too. It looks a bit like a mondeo that's been squeezed from the sides, and it still sits on a hatchback-y stance so the boot looks like its too high up...
Did he almost get into a collision at 03:45?
Not that I hate Rebecca but welcome back Mat! I missed you!
Welcome back Mat. I noticed you did not review Ford Fusion. Can you review it please?
Welcome back...
What do you mean? People just wanted to know how well the 3 cylinder would do against the regular 1.6 , but definitely the 3 cylinder can save alot more fuel than the 1.6
ordered mine today to be built from scratch gone for the lambo trim interior pathener black it's looks awesome
The number of articles I read months ago was 3 and they said that the car's acceleration isn't as good as the 1.6. Sorry , for my bad English.
Nice to see this guy back doing what he does best, car-reviewing. The woman was mean
There's a reason for that - it is a BRILLIANT drive, and with the EcoBoost engine you'll wonder why you ever need an engine bigger than this. The Focus 1.0 EcoBoost is just as fantastic to drive too. This is one hell of a sexy car...
Glad mat still do reviews for carbuyer ;)
No, a USB is a connector port for your ipod or flash drive, and axillary port is 3.5mm to 3.5mm, so anything with a normal sized headphone port you can play music from.
Finally a carbuyer review worth watching. What a mean little pun you did there Mat, shame on you :p
Oh dear, when I said "you'll" I wasn't talking about you, but in general terms. Had one but no room in back when six footer was driving so got rid now have a quashqui fantastic but ford have some good engines and nice to look at
LOVE this car. So beautiful. And loved the review

Is it worth the extra money for the 125 ps or is the 100 ps fast enough .
Ryan Dever 100 bhp is enough, as the torque figure is the important factor. Its not a sports car but quick enough for most

Thanks for the image that summoned up...
Welcome back Watson! Please do the ford fusion man do not, i repeat, DO NOT let rebecca do any more reviews!!!!!!!!!! ;:0
Rally experience payed off in designing this car, that is why I like rally as a sport, it teaches car manufacturers to build better handling fun cars.
How can you compare a rally car to a road car? The Fiesta was a passenger car long before they joined rally.
Daniels30 Manufacturers use rally as a developers tool, actually they use many rally tech in road cars.
Does it not have seat height adjustment on driver seat??
Yea it does mine does
Exept my fiesta is a zetec
Nice review Mat!!
cant wait for the ST version. You guys better do a review
I've gotta admit that when I first saw that grill on the street I did second glance it because I almost mistook it for an Aston Martin.
That Mykey thing is a bit of a waste of time if you ask me. Yes you can limit the top speed to 70, but you can still do 70 in a 30 limit.
I have the 4 door version, but in the US we don't get 66 mpg.
Matts Back!
finally mat come back
The best part of this was the joke about mobile companies copying apple 🤣
I own the 1.0 3 cylinder engine titanium version of this car and a 56 plate 1.6 zetec s fiesta. Obviously the zetecs s is better at handling and very revy in comparison, but the 1.0 engine is brilliant! I t has a lot of torque at pulling away and handles brilliantly. True, fiesta does have a lack of its build quality, i got annoyed by the rattling sound in mine. However, fun to drive is what fiesta all about.
I am currently learning to drive in these ford fiestas, are they good and reliable motors?
Yes, here in Europe anyway
Um... The Sony stereo isn't new. Our 2012 fiesta has that with the voice commands and bluetooth
Please do a review of the new range rover vogue 2013
Good review. Much better than Rebecca's efforts of late!
@1:28 _ "Mmm?.. Hallo, Matt; is that you? stop calling my wife!!!"
vaztion e
Would it be possible to get this shiny black trim from somewhere?
Why is it in insurance group 11 or 12??? That is very high for what it is
Re-designed door handles, wow thats a must!
When are you going to review the ST model...? :)
How do you know that? Its only been out like a year hasnt it?
i'll get the Studio spec. any chance of 000000 miles on the clock?
How is Ford's resale value in the UK?
Your my favorite car reviewer
Is rear visibility good when reversing and manouvering?
So it has a cramped and badly made interior, with small backseats and very badly designed boot, but because it is the most fun car to drive in its class therefore it's the best???
neither the interior is cramped and nor is it badly made buddy..I've sat in one and I'm pretty much impressed when regarding the price
I drove one at the weekend and found it very nice but immediately noticed the wobbly center console and tacky feel to that plastic lid. Still buying one though...
Angus McIntyre Me too, you can get it sorted and it's not that much of an issue. The way it drives is fantastic, exceptional, bought one today.
its the best because its the most awarded subcompact car in history, type it on your google ' ford fiesta 2014 awards'. its more reliable than nonsense youtube comments.
Khris Mart Correct, this car is exceptional.
Have you driven one?
it is possible to start using siri at the sound bottom ?
pretty sure my 09 style+ has bluetooth with voice control and ford audio streaming so that bit isnt actually true. The ecoboost engine and mainly the way it drives (along with most fords) are the things that would stop me from getting a yaris or polo as its so fun and actually quite comfy for a small car.
I keep watching these reviews, too bad I can't afford to buy one.
could you please make a review for citroen c-elysee ??
I've just bought one. Have to wait for delivery though.
when mazda 6 review is coming??
Its a brilliant engine ive got the 125ps and it is quick!
3:45. Almost made super mini even smaller! :)
Anyone know if it's OK for motorway use?
Ofc
seems like a worthwhile facelift
Why would you want a 5 door ST?
Where 'd you go?
Ford are the best. They offer the best quality at a reasonable price.
i think the new polo's are the best so far impressed a'lot by it
welcome back Mat! Now I can think dirty thoughts while watching car reviews like all these guys do with Rebecca. :-)
Hes back, yeaaaa
where u been Mat?
can you make a review of peugeot 208 please?
Most cars transmission tunnels kind of float like this when you grab them
