i was thinking a rolex or a breitling. it has become the breitling avenger, owned for half a year now and never regretted my choice. feels more solid and quality than Rolex
I'm in the EXACT same boat. Never been a big fan of the Rolex "look"...love Breitling, ADORE the Avenger! Getting one soon. Told myself I'd buy one when my business became profitable. Bought a GT-R instead. 🤣
Should have selected ANY Rolex. Breitling just doesn’t keep its value. You lose 30-40% when you walk out the door. At least with any Rolex you have a chance of appreciation and at the very least it’ll keep its MSRP. And I have a Breitling Navi timer cosmonaut. But I also had a Rolex GMT which cost me $12,000 which I sold for $19,000. I have a Omega Speedmaster and a grand Seiko. But Rolex at least keeps value. The most requested watch on the planet is a Rolex Daytona. If you don’t want a Rolex the only ones that keep value are Vacheron AP and Patek. If you don’t want or like Rolex then try A Lange & Sohne But you’re going to lose money with Breitling
i finally got a breitling acier like new for such a reasonable price on ebay using rebates and credit card cash back and it is a beautiful thing with its white dial and luminous numbers and hands that's for sure
Brietling and Rolex have the best quality movements, case and crystals for the money. Love my navitimer and skydweller, I wouldn’t buy any other brands.
"The first modern chronograph was invented by Louis Moinet in 1816, solely for working with astronomical equipment. It was Nicolas Mathieu Rieussec who developed the first marketed chronograph at the behest of King Louis XVIII in 1821." love it, knowing somethings a little off then reminding my self how much of a nerd I am
I think people should be fined for saying that this brand "invented the chronograph". Zenith, Breguet, Brietling, I'm pretty sure I missed about a dozen brands that claim the same.
Actually, all of Breitlings watches, quarts and mech, are COSC certified. That was the major change that Schneider Sr. did after buying Breitling. There is a few other incorrect details in this video but most of it is correct. What I found interesting was that while discussing the quarts movement they showed a B01 being worked. Have owned Breitling for years and do enjoy them. The Nav. is a beautiful but busy watch when compared to the Speedmaster. That said I enjoy them both for different reasons.

May 1962, Mercury "Aurora 7" mission...The Breitling Cosmonaut-Navitimer was Scott Carpenter's personal watch, so it was a coincidence it became the first chronograph in space. In 1965 NASA officially declared the Omega Speedmaster as the only flight-qualified chronograph for all manned space missions.
All of the current oversized watches are too big and Brietling sales have been going down, which means we will probably see new ranges that are that reduced in size and much closer to 42mm case size which is the same for IWC.
Also, the scale from the original Chronomat is what is on the Navitimer - it's a slide rule. The information in the video makes no sense when showing a new Chronomat with a dive bezel in the background....

Wrong, Louis Moinet invented chronograph in 1816, Breguet improved it with two push piece (modern day chrono) in 1820, long before Breitling was founded in 1884. Do your research, almost starting to like your channel
False. Breguet was the inventor of the Chronograph, but "in 1915, Gaston Breitling produced the first chronograph with a central seconds hand and a 30-minute counter. Later, in 1923, Gaston Breitling introduced the first chronograph with a separate pusher at 2 o'clock. In 1934 Willy Breitling further developed the concept of the chronograph with the addition of the second pusher at 4 o'clock."
Breitling, during WWI (to suit French Artilery demands), brought out 2 pusher setup to their chronographs. Till then, chronographs used crown mounted central pusher. Breitling didn't invent chronograph, but made it to what it is now.

Synthetic sapphire crystal , I’ve worn a couple years with knocks scrapes bangs and not a single blemish! The watch looks very old 🤷♂️ help!!!!!
Some how I rank a Breitling watch higher than Rolex watches. Has more class and is a real watch master type of watch...... OK ok wait I take it back cos they only manufacture oversized pieces. Like literal clock towers on one's wrists. Maybe if they started making sized ones more smaller fitted types got smaller wrists then they would be higher than rolex
I got myself a Breitling Aerospace Repetition Minutes just like the one on 1:40 and it is a sensational time piece, the chronograph was very useful for my SAT, helped me keep track of my time😀
This video is terrible. The information is incorrect In places and the narration computer voice is awful. Who do they think they are catering to here? Yikes.
They might not be owned by Swatch but the movements in some of their models is nothing but a vanilla ETA 2824 dressed up to disguise it... Still a nice brand though...
The biggest problem with this video is number 8, the original Breitling, founded by Leon Breitling in 1884, went bust in the 1979 and the liquidated bits were bought up by various watch companies. The name and trademark, and nothing else, were bought by Sicura (think Timex), and new models produced using the Breitling branding. Eventually the Sicura name was dropped and the Breitling name adopted. Any attempt to link the modern Breitling to the original Breitling is pure marketing BS.
