- All you need are dumbbells for this Extreme Shoulder Workout Challenge that is also a pregnancy safe workout for women you can do at home! You do NOT need to be pregnant for this Challenge because it is intense anytime- I just happen to be 3rd trimester right now! If you ARE pregnant and looking for challenging prenatal workouts, this shoulder workout challenge is safe for 1st trimester, 2nd trimester and 3rd trimester of pregnancy. Okayyy I have done the 12 week ppp with repeating the last 2 phases 2x and increasing weights on them, and the first phase of the 10 min plan... and I was still not prepared for this 🤣 I was able to keep the 10 lb weights for maybe half of the time though, so I'm extremely proud of myself! Also a mom of 4 here- 2 g & 2 b!! So excited for you!!!

I had to laugh a little when you said “don’t let the weights bounce off your thighs” because I’m 38 weeks and my stomach is too big to let the weights touch my thighs lol. Thanks for the great workout! My kids love seeing your daughter and dogs in the videos.

i just want to say that i reached full term today and am doing this work out. thank you for helping me stay healthy and motivated throughout this pregnancy. It really helps me feel prepared for postpartum and beyond. I had horrible SI and low back pain associated with long walks in my third trimester but all of your work outs never left me in pain, but always gave me the cardio and burn i was looking for. I had great strong days and days where i needed to dial back my work outs and listen to my body. Overall i feel prepared for my first baby girl / labor process and my body feels strong going into whenever she decides she is ready :). I also purchased the post partum work out schedule and cant wait to feel supported once i am ready to jump back into working out again post birth. There is really no other work outs like this on youtube that feel challenging yet safe. thank you!

Wow! What an awesome workout! My shoulders were feeling this one! I’m 30 weeks along with baby #4. Your free prenatal pregnancy plan was recommended to me at the beginning of this pregnancy, and I wish I had it for my previous 3 pregnancies. I can’t say enough good things about all of the workouts. I love the variety and they’re all for a doable amount of time. I often have one or more of my kids with me while working out, so effective and efficient is perfect for me! This workout I completed with my 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter playing legos next to me. Can’t wait to start the 12 week PP after this little boy joins us in April! ☺️

I’m 14 weeks, this is my first baby and I’m trying to keep my weight under control. I had not been exercising very much during pandemic so I’m just doing what I can, sometimes without weights, sometimes not as fast but I’m happy to have found your program and have something to keep me motivated and disciplined :)

This burned 😂 Also, I love the videos with Ava running around. I'm pregnant with my third girl, and my 3-year-old daughter is usually with me during workouts. She used to beg me to play with her and I could point to your videos and say "see the little girl playing near her mommy?" Now my daughter is a pro at it 😊 (And in videos without Ava, she asks where the little girl is 😂)
My sweet toddler is only 2 years old and he weighs 30 lb. He is normally running around playing or dancing or trying to work out with me, lol. This was TOUGH for my 1st time. I used 5lbs and 10lbs. my goal is to completely omit the 5s by the 3rd or 4th time. Thank you for such an amazing prenatal program! I am 14 and 2 and this program is no joke! Week 14 day 3, COMPLETE!!!

Loved this workout!! Which is saying a lot because I do not like training shoulders (it’s my least favorite) and almost skipped it to do a leg day. So glad I didn’t. Especially appreciated the form snap shot of the upcoming exercise during the short rests. Would love to see a similarly structured lower body challenge. Enjoying this time following your prenatal plan and looking forward to your postpartum plan, 10 minute plan, and then firm 30!
Paige, you are on FIRE! So glad you gave this extreme shoulders challenge a try, and it ended up loving it even though usually shoulders is your least favorite. I really admire your motivation and how you are clearly a planner looking ahead to the rest of 2024 and how you'll be able to deliberately progress with confidence as a mother!! I don't plan on getting pregnant again to film more lower body prenatal workouts (never know, haha) , BUT you will absolutely get all new challenge workouts as you progress through the plan of action you outlined.

I loved your ten minute plans and knew I had to stick with you for a healthy pregnancy!!
Wow loved this! I used 5 lb. weights but could have definitely done 10 lb. weight for the single dumbbell exercises. I need to do that next time! I will try 7 or 8 lb. next time I do this too with tens for the singles if need be.
And I'm a mama of two (a boy and a girl who are 13 months apart) with a baby girl on the way!
INCREDIBLE workout!!! WARNING though…totally MY fault but I hurt my neck causing a spasm and pinched feeling during the workout and couldn’t turn my head for the last week after the first time doing this. I made TWO mistakes ..1. I used 10 lbs. How could i forget how incredibly strong Ashley is…10 lbs is A LOT ( i learned the hard way). This time around I did 5! That’s how much I over estimated! 2. Went to physical therapy and they said, I protrude my head forward during exercises. They said tuck your chin back towards your neck a little throughout the workout. Well i did these two things this time around and voila, no injury. THANK YOU ASHLEY!! Another amazing workout:)

So hard! Still new to the prenatal program (started week 20) and I’ll admit I don’t have a lot of upper body strength. Had to alternate between 8 and 5 lb dumbbells. Looking forward to stronger shoulders! 💪🏻

Thank you Ashley! You are awesome! I do have to say, even after getting professionally fitted for shoes, I just can't do them. They cause pain in my arches and up my shins. The only relief I have found is barefoot. I find I'm far more stable and injure myself far less working out either barefoot or with a minimal/barefoot style sneaker. It's ironic because the shoe assessor said I had higher than normal arches...weird right? Anyway, we're all different but if you find yourself in constant pain or discomfort with shoes, you may want to give it a try. I'll never go back.
Usually in your workouts when you use 10s I use 5s - but for this I definitely had to drop down to 2.5s for some of it 😅 Phew!
LOVED This!! The intensity was great! It was your LSFC plan ( did it last year) that made me love weight lifting more and realize how much I need it! Currently 14.5 weeks with baby #3 (have 2 girls). Really loved the Headbnds and swirly thing above the head (forget the name!)
Cathryn, I have respect for you knowing you did my Lean Fast Strong Capable Plan because most women aren't willing to push themselves like you did. It warms my heart to hear it made you love weight lifting and actually crave it because you realize your body needs it and thrives when you are strong. We are excited to find out too although I want to wait till delivery to find out and Hubby wants to find out at the 20 week ultrasound. :) We found out with the other 2 girls and though I expect we shall have another sweet girl, I feel like the suspense sort of adds to the wonder and miracle that God is giving us.

Taking a break from my hips and this was tough at 35 weeks! I hate shoulder workouts because they are though for me but it was a nice change up!

I was supposed to do calf burner today but my legs were killing me after a long hike around a lake with the kids yesterday so I thought I’d take it “easy” but I’ll be hurting everywhere tomorrow lol. Thank you SO much for your reply! I actually had watched that video around week 4 of my pregnancy, because I wanted to understand what I needed to back off from right away. It’s been really helpful! It has definitely been hard backing away from my sport when I know I’m still technically “strong enough” to be hanging from bars and throwing Laches. I realize it’s not safe/ not the wisest thing to be doing for my core right now. I’ve been doing a lot of research to try to understand what sort of bar work I can be doing assisted rather than full out hanging, etc. Thank you for your workouts! And that is SO cool that you’ve done obstacle competitions as well!! ❤

I wonder if I am the only one here watching Eva most of the time :) such a sweetheart she is ! Really loving this challenge, definitely going to do it a few times a month. Powerblocks are not the best weights to do it with, but that’s the best we can do in small European apartments :) Hope there will be more challenges to come!
Good for you using what you have even though I agree, powerblocks can be tough when using smaller weights! You'll be able to make it work though for sure with your determined attitude. Where in Europe do you live?
