"Best" money I ever spent on gear! No need for a physical mixing board... No more running a 100 foot XLR snake... No more need for wiring in a rack for EQ'ing and effects because once again, no need for a physical mixing board... No more running a 100 foot power cord to feed the mixer board and the effects rack... Life is now musically simple!
@@Jeff-S Yeah, this is just a computer based mixing console that you put into a rack. It has 8 separate monitor mixes that can be EQ'ed as individual feeds and it has a left and right front of the house mix which you can either run as a stereo mix or a mono mix. I set mine up as a stereo mix with the left channel as the instrument mix and the right channel as the vocal mix then it feeds into a external 31 band EQ so I can tweak the overall mix to the front of the house. I really like this mixer.
Can you open multiple browser windows simultaneously to keep various views up and active - do they scale to maintain full view of all content in each window?

Great video, so I got it right that you dont need internet at all to control the Soundcraft? Our practice space is basically an top secret hole without any reception.
Hi great review. Thanks. This might be a basic (maybe silly) question but just wanted to know that once the levels, effects and everything else are dialled in and adjusted for all connected instruments/ mics, can one save different settings for different projects and recall them later as presets the next time we use the Ui24R after a few days? Basically can we save and recall mixes in a different venue and then use the Ui24R to load the presets just for practicing/ playing with those same levels and effects or does one need to again adjust all the levels etc?
what about if i use this mixer with my analogo rack [ eq , crossovver etc, etc ] including my spx 2000 yamaha processor ???? do i need power amplifier for this mixer ??? greetings
In order to connect to the web UI for the mixer do you have to be on the same local network that the built in router generates? Or can you connect the built in router to the internet and be anywhere in the world with an internet connection and connect to it?
I pretty sure it has to be in range of the mixer. The signal comes from the mixer. They even suggest getting a touch screen to hard wire with cat 5 and USB just in case there is a lot of internet activity (like in a hotel) that could interfere with your connection.
What if your gig is in a place where there is no internet? How does it work then? Is there an app for download in a case like that? I occasionally play at places where there is no signal and no wi-fi.
Since ui.io will not be unique to your device, I'm assuming this is like a wireless direct type, without the mixer being connected to the internet, it will still show up in your smartphone, tablet or laptop as a wireless point that you can connect to, and when opening ui.io it will recognize your mixer. My church bought one today, I will test it tomorrow. I'm not a technical person for mixers, at least not yet, but I will test this and get back to you.

@@frankbenincasa8433 There is no software to install. But, it doesn't use internet either. hi, i recently bought soundcraft ui 24 and i need your help to connect my mixer with DAW. For playback i am using Fl studio, and for recording i use magix music maker. The problem is that when i try to record, signal is okay when there is no playback, when i start record with music in my signal apears signal from playback.
Hey guys, can you help me? Yesterdqy we had a gig. We were using this mixer and it was REALLY awesome! The sound was absolutely amazing..but..after few hours, software started changing values by itself..volume, eq, vocal effects ect. I really dont know where is problem. Maybr some of you knows?
I may have a setup that you can relate to. I'm running Protools on a Windows10 PC. I have a USB cable from the PC to the Ui24. I have created an I/O table in Protools that is compliant with the available resources determined by the Soundcraft driver. Using the Soundcraft driver as my playback engine (the selection for this is in the Protools setup and suspect this similar to most DAWs). I can play a project created in Protools and route the tracks to the Soundcraft inputs. I can then record all the tracks to the usb stick. Subsequently I can play and mix those track using the Souncraft standing alone. I can patch any live inputs of the Soundcraft back to my DAW and mix them in Protools. The one thing I haven't found a way to do is play the multitrack back to the DAW. I have the option to plug the USB stick into the PC but then I have to import each file into it's track desination in Protools. (pain in the ass). I had an explanation given to me by a Harman engineer but I will delve into that in a later post.
It needs to be an HTML 5 browser and on smaller phones you need to go into full screen or app mode and you can still only just get to all the menus. You may counter with the argument that everyone has an HTML browser on their phone but that is simply not true. For older devices this can be tricky. So it's not ANY device. The manual sucks in telling you how musicians get assigned an aux so that they can mix themselves whilst crucially locking them out of the FOH controls so they don't accidentally change FOH during a show. Admin password wouldn't work properly without 2 firmware updates. So it's all very well whizzing through all the bells and whistles but no one from Soundcraft is actually telling musicians how to really assign the things they NEED when they're doing a show, and I've watched all of the videos on Soundcraft's site. It is a very good bit of kit and the firmware now seems pretty stable but the documentation needs to be way, way better.
Paul Smith the phone access is only intended for individual musicians to control their own monitor mix, not for mixing a whole show, and to that end, it works flawlessly. And seriously, if your phone doesn't have internet ability, it must be 30 years old! Honestly, if you can't work out those basic functions without a manual, you probably shouldn't be using computers!
ok thats not true about using a cheep tablet and getting performance out of the sound craft. i tried running a lenovo tab it did not work only 1/2 the functions. tryed a samsung tab no work 1/2 the functions. used a Ipad and BINGO it worked.
With all due respect, I do not agree with the web UI being light weight enough to use on an old Tablet. I use a Galaxy Tab A from 2016, my band uses 14 inputs, and it absolutely struggles, to the point where it gets very difficult to use. I never had this problem with Behringer X18 with the X-Air app or the Mixing Station.
David Belcher Hi David, unfortunately not, but you can import the recorded wav files from a memory stick into a daw such as cubase or logic for editing and overdubbing. Hope that helps!
What some customers do is play back the multitrack file and record the new file at the same time to the 2 track recorder. You can then mix it all together in your DAW as well.
On Windows open your wifi settings, connect to "soundcraft", open your web browser type "ui-mixer.io" into the address bar. This will take you to the Ui user interface
