  • I will introduce the viewer to many talented young women who are the face of today’s Americana genre. I will also select the artist’s best album to experience and ultimately enjoy. As always, I will reveal last video’s unknown album covers and select this video’s new unknown albums.

I really enjoyed your video. There were some artists that I was not familiar with. I did see First Aid Kit and the Secret Sisters live. They were amazing.

Nice work on this video. Several years ago when the price of CD’s dropped, I did a lot of digging for new music on Amazon, and several of the artists listed in this video got my attention and found their way into my collection. And a lot of them came from looking into Brandi Carlisle, Emmylou Harris and probably Linda Ronstadt. I really enjoy how you constantly move forward with artists and aren’t stuck in time as often seems to happen. I have few Audio/ music friends, but the few that do have some interest are stuck in high school. So often I hear, “there hasn’t been a good band since “, followed by some band that was all the rage back in their high school days.
I used to have the opportunity to catch bands passing through the area and doing a small session at the radio station. I think Lily and Madeline where 0ne 0f the groups I was able to see.
I have to add, your videos can be kind of hard on the checkbook. 😃

Thank you for your kind words. I too have heard that said a lot about not enough good music around today. It’s definitely the opposite. Not enough time to listen to all the great music. Thank you for your comments and thank you for watching

Very interesting list given that this is a genre I have quite an appetite for and have merely scratched the surface thus far by way of more established artists (Lucinda Williams, Kasey Musgroves etc).
In fact the only artist on your list I am familiar with is First Aid Kit. My daily drive home from the office back in 2014 saw me pass Londons legendary Hammersmith Odeon, I’d always glance to see who was playing and one night it was First Aid Kit. Arriving home having amused myself with what I thought was a truly awful name for a band I later saw them pop up as the musical guests on our top talk show. Suffice to say I was immediately blown away with what I heard and very surprised to discover that they were an Americana band from Scandinavia. I was instantly hooked and the next album I bought was “Stay Gold” which I would add to your own excellent recommendation. I really appreciate your channel and it’s in my top 2 channels when it comes to music discovery (the other being Now Spinning Magazine).

Thanks for the interesting video. The first unknown album is Abandoned Luncheonette by Daryl Hall and John Oates but I don’t know the second, sorry.

You’re right on the first album. The second album is only hard since it’s a jazz album. It is however a classic in the jazz genre. Thank you for watching

So do I but smaller acts seem to stay local so I’ve had limited access to them. Brandi Carlile was one artist I was fortunate to see. She did a solo performance of “Mad World” by Tears for Fears that brought tears to the eyes of the audience. A truly magical moment. Thank you for your constant support

@@AllAboutAlbums Carlile is on our must see list. Adam Lambert's Mad World on Idol was awesome as well. Curt Smith recorded it with his daughter a couple years as well.

It’s a tough one. You are right that it’s a jazz album but it is The Oscar Peterson Trio “Night Train”. Thank you for watching
