Just watched Netflix. The story behind We Are The World is very nostalgic and touching, and really made me cry. This is one of the songs released in my childhood and since became one of my favorites of all time. 💛💛💛
I just watched. I was crying, laughing, dancing. I’m 73. I texted my son and said he HAD to watch this. He’s a musician so he would understand and appreciate it all. The one that really spoke to me was Bob Dylan. I was only 15 when I first heard him and never forgot his voice and his protest songs about Vietnam. The musicians and their music you grow up with are so so powerful as you go thru your life and especially when you get to the end of your life, like me. Enjoy it now and help others. The world needs to come back together now!!
I also saw the impressive documentary from Netflix. I'm 47. It awakened the same emotions in me. It's a pity that such campaigns are no longer made today. We're just talking about how to save the planet. Who is slowly dying, along with a large part of her people. Greetings to everyone from Romania!

No, unfortunately a lot of these unbelievable singers died of drug overdoses at very young ages. We don't have musicians like this anymore! I'm a child of the 80's and this was literally the best decade ever, too bad it's not like this anymore! 😢

Back then we all thought there was some hope. I remember that one year this song was played throughout the WORLD at the same time. Here in America, I remember being at work and worked stopped and customers and employees started singing. I am 66yrs young African American woman still today this song makes me cry. People would sing it at sports events, concerts, malls, groups on the streets, churches...All it took was one person to start and people would join in. I'm glad Prince didn't show up for this. Huey Lewis's part has always hit me hard (according to the Netflix documentary Huey took Prince's part). Also.. Cyndi Lauper's part is just amazing! So raw and powerful. Plus that Stevie Wonder & Bruce Springsteen combo! It was also very nice to see the support Bob Dylan got in order to sing his part. They did a really great job matching vocals.

I just watched. I was crying, laughing, dancing. I’m 73. I texted my son and said he HAD to watch this. He’s a musician so he would understand and appreciate it all. The one that really spoke to me was Bob Dylan. I was only 15 when I first heard him and never forgot his voice and his protest songs about Vietnam. The musicians and their music you grow up with are so so powerful as you go thru your life and especially when you get to the end of your life, like me. Enjoy it now and help others. The world needs to come back together now!!

Back then we all thought there was some hope. I remember that one year this song was played throughout the WORLD at the same time. Here in America, I remember being at work and worked stopped and customers and employees started singing. I am 66yrs young African American woman still today this song makes me cry. People would sing it at sports events, concerts, malls, groups on the streets, churches...All it took was one person to start and people would join in. I'm glad Prince didn't show up for this. Huey Lewis's part has always hit me hard (according to the Netflix documentary Huey took Prince's part). Also.. Cyndi Lauper's part is just amazing! So raw and powerful. Plus that Stevie Wonder & Bruce Springsteen combo! It was also very nice to see the support Bob Dylan got in order to sing his part. They did a really great job matching vocals.
