@tomfraustein7693 that long take up is because of the double strike feature which I do like. Once you pull the trigger the first time every shot after that is decent
@@tomfraustein7693 it’s smoother than the g2c for sure but the take up is still there. However for some reason I was a more accurate shooter with the g2c then I was with the g3c.
I have heard some quality concerns because of the Brazil stuff but also that at least new they shoot great at a great price with very low recoil. Long term is to be determined.

Thanks. I have a gx4 and g3c in .40. Both are good shooters and can do truck gun or walking the dog duty. Not sure that this gx2 provides anything additional.
Subbed because you love the Lord Jesus. Gun content is a great bonus. I've had a Taurus g3 for a couple of yrs now. I love that gun. It's slim, accurate and dependable.
Personally I only use optics on rifles and full size or compact pistols. In my opinion, based on my own experience in law enforcement, an optic on an EDC provides more negative potential than benefit potential. 1. Optics make it more likely to print, by being slightly bulkier. 2. Optics can lose power, making someone take precious seconds to realize that the dot isn't working, which could cause them to be harmed. 3. Screws and plates fail, causing the optic to be loose and not zeroed. Thereby, subjecting someone to hitting unintentional targets. 4. The dot is working perfectly, but you are just taking longer to find the dot, because you've trained to shoot with it, rather that combat/ instinctive shoot.
Yeah those are all good points. I don’t carry guns with optics on them, but only because of the bulk or printing thing which honestly I don’t much care about printing. I train with the one I’m carrying with just the irons. With all that said I personally have never experienced a dot that failed when needed. I’ve had some that may would have because preliminary testing proved they weren’t worthy or reliable. However, with Trijicon, Holosun, AimPoint or EOTech I’ve never had a single failure of any kind. If people would take the time to use the correct plates/screws, use a conservative amount of blue loctite, invest in a solid torque driver and be on a regiment of battery replacement the chances of failure in my experience anyway is .001% (less for me). Usually the optic isn’t the issue it’s the optic user sadly.
@GSquaredTactical agreed, but I feel most people buy them because they are recommended by someone they trust, but they themselves have little to no experience with them. Then they short cut everything and blame the product. Also, before I forget... Thank you for this review, I've been kind of on the fence about this one, but I think I'm going to get one now.
What part of people don't understand I took a training class. They told me never take a gun straight out of a box and shoot it. They said that you should inspect it and clean it. And lubricated where it There's nothing to impress People coming straight out of the box.
Tell that to the 1000’s of people that want to see that. I agree with you, but it’s what people want to see. I always check them for broken parts and function dry but heck I’ve had very little to no issues with guns running it straight out the box. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I bought that Kimber Mako and it's fantastic. Also bought a Crimson Trace red dot and it's been great despite their so so reputation; PSA has them for $49.99 FYI.
I tried the holasun 507, I couldn't keep the screws from backing out even with lock tight, at 5 to 7 yards is what they say a self defense shooting will happen, I can put your eye out at that distance with iron sights.
Lol! I said it seems like they are going back to their old ways from moving their production back to brazil. I said I heard that the internals weren't as nicely machined as the GX4, G3C etc.. So short term sure it'll run but long term will it be as reliable? I'm not a Taurus hater by any means. I'm just saying this is what I've heard so far. Even though a different youtuber I watched was saying the machining on it was bad, it still ran through every mag they shot but they were questioning if it would be as reliable as the other pistols they've made here in Georgia long term.
I’ve never seen the big issue with Taurus. Always been a decent gun for the price point imo. I prefer my tti combat , Glock and so on… but for folks who can’t drop 600+ on a gun.. I’d pick a Taurus over a Highpoint anyday 😂
Absolutely!! I mean dude I own over 20 guns that cost me over $2500. I have no reason to put a cheap gun on a pedestal because I’m cheap or something. I’m simply reporting the facts as they happen with me. I’ve said countless times do I think Taurus is the build quality of a CZ, HK, Glock, Sig or the like? No of course not. However if I can run it 2000 rounds without an issue without cleaning or oiling and it runs then for 75% on gun owners it will serve them well because they are never going to put that many rounds through it in those conditions in their lifetime. So I basically choose not to be a gun snob prick. Thanks for watching bro and sharing your thoughts
I have a pair of G3c, one in 9, the other in 40. I've been careful to clean and oil them out of the box because the spray-on rust protector crap they spray in there so it survives the boat ride isn't a lubricant. They also start to feel sticky somewhere around 250 rounds but if you clean and oil then, they won't jam. By keeping them clean and oiled I've had zero malfunctions with either. I didn't trust the Gx4 because they were trying for something ultra-skinny (basically 1" wide) and I didn't trust Taurus metallurgy to that degree. The G3c in both calibers is an inch and quarter wide same as a Glock 26/27. Much better. However, the Gx4 had one big improvement. The G3c is internally a lot like a Glock - front and rear separate frame rails connected between them only by frame plastic. Glock gets away with it. Taurus...ummm...it's sketchy. The Gx4 has a one piece internal steel chassis with LONG frame rails. No separate front and rear rails, it's one long piece of the same steel. The RXM is the same by the way, except they made it look like separate front and rear rails so a Glock or aftermarket slide fits. The Gx2 is internally built like a Gx4 - internal chassis, long solid rails. But if you go to handgunhero.com and look at the dimensions, it's *almost* as wide as the G2/G3/G2c/G3c family. I like that idea. Go back to the beefier metal all around the pressure bearing surfaces like they had on the G3c, but add the long solid rails off the Gx4. Eventually they can ditch the entire G2/G3 family and expand the GX2 into those roles. And they should. Only question is, how soon before they go back to Mec-gar for mags? 😅 For the record, here's my G3c in 40 with a Viridian CTL 525 lumen light, the ability to run my offhand forefinger in front of the triggerguard despite the light, a gas pedal (silver bar, part of the hacked up optics riser) and a hex tube iron sight used in target focus both eyes open mode just a red dot - Tim Sheehan's last design before he died (Goshen Enterprises Hexsite variant): drive.google.com/file/d/1hsZktDhQg9Id6wSRemz6pEZ_dzfkcJOR/view?usp=drivesdk drive.google.com/file/d/1hb_PUwuEByo6NMxq3ijVQaDguZtCJ__J/view?usp=drivesdk drive.google.com/file/d/16l-lUyhLXFvu8JZe_f0Kia3BX0LzWpin/view?usp=drivesdk drive.google.com/file/d/17OyfoJ1UxQNDv9K5iwDKktX326NSmU9D/view?usp=drivesdk drive.google.com/file/d/1hzES_MzuQMm9e7Jy_c_6kuVEe1Fdm8_z/view?usp=drivesdk drive.google.com/file/d/1i2w_1e9XgoctwPKr96YqfOwDuIoDpzqV/view?usp=drivesdk
I would be wondering how long those mags would last fully loaded without the cheap welds splitting. I had a few cheap 1911 mags split in the crappy weld on the back in 100 rounds. Luckily, I am handy and was able to reweld them back together and smooth it out to where you could never tell they were welded lol.
I John wicked a couple of these but had to edit it out because the ground was so muddy from recent rains I had to stop and clean the mags up. However no worries I will be running this one hard.
I don't care so much if it's not optic ready, I have no issue shooting iron all day. My only concern is whether Taurus improved on their trigger system. So how did the trigger feel? Is the trigger still too spongy like their old G2C/G3C??? And for the LIBERAL brats that are stereotyping your opinion POPS don't pay attention to them just keep up the positive vibes man some of us common folks understand where you're coming from 😉👍 So keep up the positivity. ✌️😎
Unless you have eye issues keep the irons. They’ve worked since day one and I do NOT buy into the hype that optics on a handgun are better. They’re different not better.
When Taurus decided to do away with the pt series I decided to do away with Taurus. I have found there are other companies that build just as good at the same price range. Not to mention if you are patient you can find used higher tier firearms that are with in 50 bucks difference as these budget guns.. I don't miss Taurus and I pretty sure they don't miss my business.
I almost got excited when the GX2 was released initially , then there was disappointment. Just like the G2 it's got no place in a left handed user's carry rotation due to that right handed thumb safety. People would argue that you don't have to use the thumb safety but the issue is that in times of crises (that this class of pistol was made for) your thumb safety can unintentionally engage as allot of things can happen in a time of crises. It's very disappointing that Taurus just made a revamped G2c with no real improvements, just remove the thumb safety like with the GX 4 or make in ambi.
I don’t under why you won’t tell us prices or disassembly; UA-cam doesn’t seem to have any issues with it. There are many channels I watch that do precisely those things, so I’m confused…?
I don’t care what other channels do UA-cam policy is you cannot show upgrades you cannot show how to take a gun down and you cannot mention the price of the gun. All of that stuff changed in July 2024. If other channels have done it, it’s because they have chosen to be demonetized. I do not have that option otherwise I would not be able to afford to do the channel at all. That’s why I ask for peoples support.
@GSquaredTactical i have read manual taurus manuals before and read this manual too. I would rather carry an old snappy hellcat than something that isn't safe to chamber
I ordered the stainless version of the GX2 a few days ago. I'd always considered Taurus to make good budget pistols but never bought one because they never had all of the features I wanted but they really pulled out the stops on the GX2. It's amazing how many features they could implement without running up the cost. My application is the most pistol I can put in my rear pocket. Optics ready isn't an option that interests me for this application but there are some good lights, lasers and light/laser combos that will fit nicely on that three slot rail. I wish it didn't have an external safety but that can probably be safely deleted. I may black powder coat the stainless slide.
I'm too old school to run anything without an external safety. Say that only to point out that manufacturers can't please everyone with any one offering. Thankfully we have many options to choose from. All the best!
@@duxdawg - The external safety is definitely a personal preference - basically 1911 or Glock modes. Many manufacturers offer the same model with and without a manual safety. The Kel-Tec P15 has a three position safety selector switch so the user can choose grip safety and magazine disconnect safety engaged, both disengaged, or only the grip safety engaged.
@@GSquaredTactical - 😀 The only thing worse than a BANG when you're expecting a click is a click when you're really needing a BANG. An external safety, no matter how difficult to engage, will manage to engage itself when fighting for your life. 😲
Listen brother, we idolize certain people in the Bible. One example would be David. David done some horrible things. I mean in flesh was not what we would consider a “good man.” However, what did God say concerning him? I have found a man after my own heart God said. You see we look at the outside and God sees the heart. If you choose not to bring your flesh under subjection that’s something you will answer to God for, Colossians 2:11 states, "In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ". You see because of the blood we were born with handed down one generation to the next from Adam we were born sinners ready to split hell wide open as they say once we become aware of those sins. To him that knoweth to do right!! Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice with His own pure blood. It was done because He knew that the rams and goats wasn’t going to get it done. We needed a once for all cure and that was His perfect sacrifice. If there has ever been a time that you realized your condition (your sin) and you ask God the save you in your own way then he heard and as Colossians 2:11 states your soul is circumcised from your flesh and can sin no more. It is sealed until the day of redemption. People get hung up on lumping the whole Bible together as one when not all of it was written directly to you in this church age. It’s says no drunkered, no whoremonger nor liar shall enter His kingdom but guess what? No matter what you allow your flesh to do if you have been born again (circumcised) you are NONE of those things because you are covered in the blood, circumcised and sealed. Will you answer for not choosing to live right? Sure but your eternal salvation is secure because we live under grace by faith. We all have doubts but if you have admitted to God you are a sinner and confessed His Son Jesus Christ to have lived, died, arose and seated at the right hand of God to make intercession and you ask God to save you then that’s that. I doubt, my pastor doubts it’s because we are in this flesh. Read your KJV and spend time with God and the doubts will ease. For the wages of sin is death but the “gift” FREE just take it as it’s easier than falling off a log backwards and He made it so because it’s not His will that any should perish. Everyone wants to know Gods will. It’s that none should perish. God isn’t out to get you He’s seeking to save you and salvation, spiritual circumcision, and sealing isn’t works based or how good of a person you are. If you could have been good, went to church, read your Bible and prayed your way to heaven then why would Jesus have needed to die? He would have just let you give it a go. Your can not work your way to heaven or else you’ll lift your eyes in hell. It’s is a free gift…just reach out and take it. Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh. Romans 10:8-10 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 1 John 5:13-15 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: To be saved you have to believe you need salvation. How does one do that? You must admit and agree that you was born a sinner and the moment you became aware of those sins you was bound for eternal separation from God in a places prepared for satan and his followers in hell. Simply tell God in your own way that you are a sinner and you want to be saved and spend eternity with Him and that’s that. Get in His word (KJV) Bible and seek Him. Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you.
Beat it with your must be optic ready is this your only gun ? Not sure why you would put an optic on a gun that small to begin with . So tired of optics and compensators
I don't fanboy after any brand. I own Taurus, Tisas, Springfield, Winchester, S&W, etc. The GX2 interests me if it proves reliable. I like compacts, but don't really care for the micros so much.
@GSquaredTactical yeah that and the grip are what I like about it. If it's reliable, I think it will sell like crazy. It even comes in a stainless slide, for those who complain about the finish.
Indeed I said the trigger was weird, I never said the fishing was great and it is $150 cheaper than the RXM. Also, everyone misses the point because their hatred for anyone’s difference of opinion blinds them. I disliked the RXM because of an American company copying foreign gun manufacturers like Glock, Sig and the Croatian Springfield. At least Taurus made their own gun. I never said a single thing malfunctioned with the RXM. Also the RXM’s finish is horrible too with no grip texturing. Good Lord I thought the RXM hate was over. I guess some people hold grudges. Thanks for watching
@@GSquaredTactical Well it seems like you have opinions on things too.. Which aren't really valid. Just because it's a Glock "clone" doesn't mean it's deserves the criticism. It's probably the best Glock clone you can get for the money currently. You're the only one I've seen give it that much undeserved hate, even before shooting it. You're basically hating on Ruger and Magpul just because it's a Glock platform.. It's no where near as bad as you perceived it to be. I guarantee you it'll be one of the most popular guns of 2025, purely due to it's feature set. But hey, everyone's entitled to their opinion right?
I don’t agree that it’s one of the best Glock clones and that opinion isn’t going to change and I respect your opinion that it is because that’s what sane people do
@@GSquaredTactical Huh? You're the one that made preconceived notions and opinions about the gun before even shooting it.. Just because you don't like that it's a Glock platform. But I'm the insane one. Ok bub lol
I'm sure they will release a T.O.R.O. model within a few weeks. They always release without the optic cut, except for the Tactical G3 model. I think the G2C (GX2) and G3C are kind of a useless gun. Only 13 rounds. Most guns that size are at least 15 rounds and sometimes 17 rounds.
@@destroyingdadxx2274 Yeah, but they extend way down and make it more difficult to carry. I'd rather carry a gun that already has a capacity of 15 or 17.
@@duxdawg I mean this probably isn't a gun I would carry anyway. You get what you pay for in the Gun market. This wouldn't be a bad backup hiking gun or truck gun hidden under the seat. My main gun for work is gonna be something more than a Taurus.

I like it. I just wish Taurus would put a better finish on the slide
Yeah but then they’d raise the price $50 lol
@ and I would pay it!
I bought that Kimber Mako and it's fantastic. Also bought a Crimson Trace red dot and it's been great despite their so so reputation; PSA has them for $49.99 FYI.
I haven’t had a CT optic yet
I tried the holasun 507, I couldn't keep the screws from backing out even with lock tight, at 5 to 7 yards is what they say a self defense shooting will happen, I can put your eye out at that distance with iron sights.
Well that’s all that matters
Awesome Video first time on the channel clicked all the buttons great information..
Ty sir
From what I've seen, they are reliable, cheap, and a good looking gun,i won't one.
Do it and let me know how you like it
I got this gun. Perfect beater to go next to my gx4. My daily cary is a g19.
I’m going to run this one a little while and see how it holds up. Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
@GSquaredTactical been subscribed, but seems to run well. I will be swaping out the guide rod for a upgraded on but no complaints
Sweet
Looks like a solid option from Taurus.👍
We shall see
Am about to get 1 just because got a couple G2c miil ,Gx4 even in my edc the gx4 just runs!
Let me know if you do and how you like
I like Taurus, but I like all firearms.
Yeah I have that problem too
Taurus isn't back to their old ways.
They have always been hit or miss
That I can agree with
👍🏻
😬
@@GSquaredTacticalNew subscriber because of your honesty and humility.
@viscious_uv2 Ty sir
😅
For the record, here's my G3c in 40 with a Viridian CTL 525 lumen light, the ability to run my offhand forefinger in front of the triggerguard despite the light, a gas pedal (silver bar, part of the hacked up optics riser) and a hex tube iron sight used in target focus both eyes open mode just a red dot - Tim Sheehan's last design before he died (Goshen Enterprises Hexsite variant):

It looked pretty fast. Is it the double strike trigger?
No
It is not
I would be wondering how long those mags would last fully loaded without the cheap welds splitting. I had a few cheap 1911 mags split in the crappy weld on the back in 100 rounds. Luckily, I am handy and was able to reweld them back together and smooth it out to where you could never tell they were welded lol.
My gx4 carry mags work in it. Obviously there’s a bit of a gap but it’s only a matter of time before someone makes a baseplate/sleeve for them.
@@mikegray8164 Glad to hear that, I was thinking they were proprietary. Which Gx4 mags the carry?
@ yeah that’s the only one that would fit. The 11 round and 13 round gx4 mags are too short.
I John wicked a couple of these but had to edit it out because the ground was so muddy from recent rains I had to stop and clean the mags up. However no worries I will be running this one hard.
So far I've logged four years with five mags perpetually fully loaded without any issues with my G2C.
Def go with the stainless slide that slide is already trashed
Yeah it was bad out of the box lol
@ I have multiple g series pistols any of the black finishes scratch just by looking at them wrong
Interesting video thanks G!
Ty for watching
It's got the tx22 grip and that's great
Yeah no matter what it feels great in the hand
That thing has some major muzzle flip
It’s a small gun but I didn’t notice it while shooting as I was able to stay on target well
I don't care so much if it's not optic ready, I have no issue shooting iron all day. ✌️😎
I spoke at length about the trigger in the video. Shooting wasn’t that bad. Dry firing it, it’s a little weird
@@GSquaredTactical copy that thank you for your thoughts on it. I might just go ahead and give Taurus another chance then.
Let me know if you get it and what you think
I get a kick out of the Taurus haters
Attempting to knock a pistol thats as good or better than the pistol they paid more for
I despise red dots 🤣🤣🤣
🤣😂 thanks for watching
🤭
Unless you have eye issues keep the irons. They’ve worked since day one and I do NOT buy into the hype that optics on a handgun are better. They’re different not better.
Thanks for watching and sharing
Great video sir
Hey man thanks for watching
Dont know anyone who engaged in close proximity shootout and thanked their red dot.
😂
Thank you for the intro though.

Good shootin!
Thanks your sir
When Taurus decided to do away with the pt series I decided to do away with Taurus. I have found there are other companies that build just as good at the same price range. Not to mention if you are patient you can find used higher tier firearms that are with in 50 bucks difference as these budget guns.. I don't miss Taurus and I pretty sure they don't miss my business.
Thanks for watching
I almost got excited when the GX2 was released initially , then there was disappointment. Just like the G2 it's got no place in a left handed user's carry rotation due to that right handed thumb safety. People would argue that you don't have to use the thumb safety but the issue is that in times of crises (that this class of pistol was made for) your thumb safety can unintentionally engage as allot of things can happen in a time of crises. It's very disappointing that Taurus just made a revamped G2c with no real improvements, just remove the thumb safety like with the GX 4 or make in ambi.
I understand
I don’t under why you won’t tell us prices or disassembly; UA-cam doesn’t seem to have any issues with it. There are many channels I watch that do precisely those things, so I’m confused…?
I don’t care what other channels do UA-cam policy is you cannot show upgrades you cannot show how to take a gun down and you cannot mention the price of the gun. All of that stuff changed in July 2024. If other channels have done it, it’s because they have chosen to be demonetized. I do not have that option otherwise I would not be able to afford to do the channel at all. That’s why I ask for peoples support.
Watch pew pews 10 best he says he can’t tell you
Same as the g2c & g3c Taurus made g2c/g3c mags 6:55
Yeah I was repeating what a commenter/viewer said and addressing that on camera
@ 🫡
So is this gun just thicker than the gx4 models?
All around it’s very slightly larger than the GX4 (very slightly) with a light rail and no optic cut
How does the trigger compare to the GX4?
👍🏻
The taurus manual says don't carry with one in the chamber. That's enough for me
Really?? That’s wild
@GSquaredTactical i have read manual taurus manuals before and read this manual too. I would rather carry an old snappy hellcat than something that isn't safe to chamber
@q4life551 lol I know that’s right
@@q4life551 I’ve never had a single problem with that. You’re gonna have to post a video, not a link proving your claim.
Taurus says that cuz they are from where ? They police doesn’t even carry one in the head I do tho never had. Problem
Believe me the safety is so hard to engage it will be a non issue.
@@GSquaredTactical - 😀 The only thing worse than a BANG when you're expecting a click is a click when you're really needing a BANG. An external safety, no matter how difficult to engage, will manage to engage itself when fighting for your life. 😲
How do I know for sure I’m going to heaven?
Romans 8:3
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh. Romans 10:8-10 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
1 John 5:13-15
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
To be saved you have to believe you need salvation.

@@True-word74 it's a compact.. Do you really know what you're talking about?
If it was optics ready, but cost $25-50 more, you'de probably say it cost too much.
I don't fanboy after any brand. I own Taurus, Tisas, Springfield, Winchester, S&W, etc. The GX2 interests me if it proves reliable. I like compacts, but don't really care for the micros so much.
This ain’t really micro in my opinion. It’s a good size
@GSquaredTactical yeah that and the grip are what I like about it. If it's reliable, I think it will sell like crazy. It even comes in a stainless slide, for those who complain about the finish.
Yeah the finish is bad, but I’ve never had a Taurus that didn’t have a sketchy finish 😂🤣
@GSquaredTactical yeah the finish is notoriously bad. I didn't do it on purpose, but I'm glad that the G2C I have has a stainless slide.
Hey basically trashed the RXM then turns around and praises this $250 gun 😂🤦🏼♂️ The finish, machining and triggers on these are horrid
@@GSquaredTactical Well it seems like you have opinions on things too.. Which aren't really valid. Just because it's a Glock "clone" doesn't mean it's deserves the criticism. You're basically hating on Ruger and Magpul just because it's a Glock platform.. It's no where near as bad as you perceived it to be.
Probably make more money
They make 17 round mags for them too. The small mags are for carry.
@@destroyingdadxx2274 Yeah, but they extend way down and make it more difficult to carry. I'd rather carry a gun that already has a capacity of 15 or 17.
