This is the recipe I have been looking for. My mom used to make something similar for me when I was a child. But she got dementia before she could really teach me cooking. Thank you so much for this.
What a lovely presentation style! Really loving this, with everything explained in such detail, inspiring confidence and giving options for everything. Totally subscribing and recommending this to all my friends! - The only (small) thing I would change is the volume of the very crisp cooking sounds; in some places I find they distract a bit from clearly hearing your instructions. - Thank you for all your tips! 🙏 Will definitely be trying a lot of your suggestions!
I'm so glad to have found your channel. I love how you make the cooking videos extra interesting by making it informative as well. Kudos to you, sir! I'm bingeing on your videos now. Love and regards from Karnataka. Best wishes. 🤍🙏🏽💐

Tamarind and curry leaves are available in a lot of supermarkets in the UK, especially the larger ones like Tesco Extra. I also recommend finding your nearest Asian grocer. I live in a small town, and my nearest Asian grocer's shop is walking distance away, they have pretty much, EVERYTHING you could possibly need, plus you are supporting local small businesses. Another alternative is to buy hard to source ingredients online.
Wow ! This is a heavenly dish. The Poor or the Rich can enjoy this. We Ceylonese Sinhala households will add some curry leaves and most importantly ...Coconut milk. For the Sinhala kitchens Dhal without Coconut milk is like a bride without a groom. Thank You Srikkant for taking us on this journey. 🙏🙏🙏
Yes i agree; in my own home kitchen, we have learned from scratch the hard way that what you say is 100% true; "Dhal without Coconut milk is like a bride without a groom"!
Lentils over night soaking n morning cooking...is good for health r any problem?and onther thing...tomato n spinach combination food stone foaming in kidney..is right r wrong? please reply sir
I don't soak them for several hours because they start to smell and I have observed that soaking them for too long makes it harder to cook and Food choices and their reactions vary from person to person, there cannot be a generalized answer to that.

Lovely. Dunno why but I am tempted to put in some baby brinjals, slit and slightly fried. Just after the first boil with spinach.
I add a little coconut milk and it's yummy, so is this gad for health I meant the addition of c. Milk ?

Where do you buy these spices?
That depends on where you are situated , but these days online retailers have them all. Other than that an Indian or asian grocery store have them.
Pressure cooking the dal doesn't require pre soaking. If you are using tomatoes there is no need to add tamarind as well.
hello you shouldnt use tomatoes for spinach dal, you should use only tamarind or raw mango or amchur powder or lime juice at end!
