His book Back Mechanic cured my back issues after years of other treatment failed, including surgery. I was almost about to get a spinal fusion and then I found this book.

Hi Greg, I am suffering from exactly what Dr. McGill described, but only at the end of the video did he mention proper conditioning exercises to fix this, but he never gave any examples. I am desperate to find out how to treat this and would like to know if there are some examples of how to address flexion intolerance exercises? Thanks

Hi Stuart, I am bromanticly falling in love with you as a bro that is. Humble, gentle, smart and good looking! But enough about me!
Just kidding, the words suit you way better than me! I’m starting with proper spinegiene. Giving my back a little tlc instead of a weightlifting beating. Again, I’m very impressed with your knowledge and personality!🫡
    Cheers 👋🏼

So I feel like this video is about me (30+ , working out a lot and lots of back pain when sitting). If I would go for an MRI with a doctor, would this show up or would it only show up when you slouch and then get the MRI? Would like to confirm this is what's going on.

If there is active disc bulge it will be visible on mri even if you don't slouch and not necessary back pain is due to disc it could be muscular also

@@gregpotterphd oh wow that is one amazing podcast! The portion about your dad addressed stenotic backs & how I feel on the daily . My ortho keeps on and on about doing a RFA (radio frequency ablation) - I’ve got a “spondy” (stenosis, 54 yo back). I am not in favor of RFA & am giving physical therapy my focus. I also have a nervous system/autoimmune condition (multiple sclerosis) & simply want to keep active - exercise helps me with every single thing.
I am very appreciative of all I am learning about back stuff. Thank you for replying with the full link!
I’ve sent it to my dad - semi-pro golfer in his past days - he is also looking for answers and hope for the back!
      Cheers!

What if the back pain comes on during sleep?

You need to investigate your mattress. Also, did you try sleeping with a stack of pillows under your knees?

You tend show off more than help , is it so hard to, give a specific, 😊answer, it is never just advice, which , for the lay person, sorry but I have watched your videos, more bragging than delivering firm advice

It depends on a lot of factors. Your age, profession, height, weight, injury type, muscle/fat ratio, sport history, bone density... That's why testing shows the way always

but basically in this video stuart mcgill is saying if bending over to pick stuff up hurts you, you should try walking more often throughout the day about ten minutes a time because this tends to happen when people sit for too long.
