Somehow this feels a lot like a school auditorium after a really successful school musical, but at a really high level. The cast are in the audience with parents but it's a professional production. I love it.
I can't explain the joy I feel just watching this, I really can't imagine how happy the crowd must have felt seeing the Sack Lunch Bunch, singing and dancing. This is just a magical moment
It's awesome to see John Mulaney hit his stride, I've always been a soft fan, just waiting for him to take his moment in the spotlight, it's thrilling, Congratulations!
Yeah this is like the first time ive heard John take the back seat and let other ppl talk lol. like i love him but its good to see him with a different dynamic
Honestly in an exceptionally brilliant show with the likes of DAVID BYRNE amongst the adult guests, not to mention the genius of the kids, for Jake Gyllenhaal to stand out as much as he did with such an amazing bit is really something
I remember hearing about her when Mulaney would do Pete Holmes's podcast almost ten years ago, and now I finally know what she looks like and seeing these two together makes me so happy and proud somehow
I haven’t watched the special yet, mostly because I didn’t understand what it was (much like the creators before it existed), but I don’t know why I hesitated to watch it because I love John Mulaney’s humor and ideas. I will definitely be watching it now.
I’m waiting for John to talk about David Byrne. I knew of the Talking Heads but this special really introduced me to them. Fantastic band and David Byrne is one of the best to ever do it!
Chris Lore no, I am saying it looks like a jacket that could be ordered by filling out a coupon filling in what color you'd like and your size. Enclose a check or money order....sorry no C.O.D. One still gets these Blair type leaflets in the mail. Including Velcro sneakers, sweatshirts with kitty cats, etc. It looks vintage but may be from Target....or it's a major designer for thousands. It looks like a McGreagor deer skin jacket my son has. Vintage. Check your local Consignment or thrift store.
really rosie was somehow so emotive, full of anxiety and depression at childhood. it was perfect for the full generation of gen x kids with split up parents.
When talking about getting one of the kids to be a cast member of Saturday Night Live, and Lorne Michael was a hard no, as if he'd thought about that before: well, Michaels did that, or nearly, and it was a disaster. Anthony Michael Hall, right behind his acclaimed role in Sixteen Candles, got a teenage role on SNL. I could see Michaels thinking "never again!"
Fucking yellow socks, ugh! That’s the one thing they (won’t) replace, John. Edit: added comma after “replace” because Pissy Socks Mulaney is an English major.
FINALLY an interview of john i haven't seen yet
i relate v hard to this
tlawodn p
Yes
Anytime John is at the 92nd Y I get so excited
Fea Pratt because it’s a guaranteed full hour of new Mulaney material
54:37 "Did you write Mr. Music to be that chaotic, or did Jake Gyllenhaal bring his own chaotic energy?" finally the question we need answered
Thanks for posting this and inviting all of us Sack Lunch Bunchers!
Lexi Perkel ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for giving us something this wonderful! I promise we’ll Pay Attention from now on.
You're such an incredible talent, Lexi!

It was really a great surprise
i love that john has unintentionally become like a dad his 15 small children
Its pretty amazing how smooth an interview Seth brings. It seems almost effortless.
23:55 this was adorable and nothing has convinced me more that John Mulaney is wonderful with children
the mere thought of John Mulaney sitting surrounded be these kids playing Heads Up with them is enough to bring a smile to my face :')
It's awesome to see John Mulaney hit his stride, I've always been a soft fan, just waiting for him to take his moment in the spotlight, it's thrilling, Congratulations!
7:03 John Singing different version of Plain Plate of Noodles
I would love to hear the full version! It sounds a funky mix of the original lol
92Y panels are so great but I wish the sound was louder!
I wanna get coffee with and take long walks with John mulaney. 😪
John Mulaney is the most underrated comic of all time. Incredible performer. Understated.
I think if you host snl 3 times you're not underrated
Typo Diabetes in the UK only comedy nerds have even heard of him. To give you context, I had to explain who Stephen Colbert is recently
@@Skootavision Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know
I love all of the shared credit and shared storytelling. So nice to see what really great teamwork looks like.
I have no eloquent comment just a lot of love
I know John doesn't want kids but honestly I think he would be the best dad. I bet you he's a great uncle or brother.
this aged like fine wine
now I hope you were right
i bet you he's a great dad
I loved how the interview started with America talking and not being interrupted. This was a very balanced interview both by Seth and participants.
Same, interested in hearing a lot more from Marika
Yeah this is like the first time ive heard John take the back seat and let other ppl talk lol. like i love him but its good to see him with a different dynamic
I love John Mulaney's statement about the kids having a inner moral compass.
clearly so much work went into this amazing piece of work, it’s fricken phenomenal
like no joke I’ve watched it over 10 times at this point.
can we talk abot the fact that he said "holy shit" and the sack lunch bunch were in the crowd?
i love it
Honestly in an exceptionally brilliant show with the likes of DAVID BYRNE amongst the adult guests, not to mention the genius of the kids, for Jake Gyllenhaal to stand out as much as he did with such an amazing bit is really something
Marika and John are so attractive that its off putting how funny they are. They also look like they are 20 wtf
It's true. I kept thinking "who is that beautiful lady next to John Mulaney?" and it turns out she's a really funny writer.
I remember hearing about her when Mulaney would do Pete Holmes's podcast almost ten years ago, and now I finally know what she looks like and seeing these two together makes me so happy and proud somehow
@@dorian4404 yes! same with eli and rhys, john and seth talk about all three of them all the time im so happy to finally see them all talk
This needs a pinch of Bill Hader
Doesnt everything
Even funerals need a pinch of bill hader
A sprinkle of Fred armisen wouldn’t hurt either
I haven’t watched the special yet, mostly because I didn’t understand what it was (much like the creators before it existed), but I don’t know why I hesitated to watch it because I love John Mulaney’s humor and ideas. I will definitely be watching it now.
That heads up moment brought the dad in John. Loved it.
I live for John and Seth

is that the outfit tan put him in?
It's also the same outfit he wore to the Patriot act with Hasan minhaj
Saw the jacket and socks and knew this was a post-Tan John
@@bronaghmca A pre-Tan John wouldn't have worn jeans that skinny either
I really like John Mulaney's jacket
Chris Lore hate to say it but looks like a Blair fashion from the 70s found in Sunday's Parade magazine. Perhaps it's vintage.
@@marylhere I'm afraid I pretty much never "talk fashion" are you saying it's probably really hard to find?
Chris Lore no, I am saying it looks like a jacket that could be ordered by filling out a coupon filling in what color you'd like and your size. Enclose a check or money order....sorry no C.O.D. I WOULD DIE TO WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE ONE DAY
92nd street y interviews are always so entertaining
This was hilarious, I love John Mulaney and everything he does. -
Love john mulaney
New John Mulaney Yay!!
Loved this, great questions, great answers!
John Mulaney is a delight.
I loved the rhyming of abracadabra with alJABra. Hilarious.
37:07 - reaffirming the good feeling i have about Jake Gyllenhaal as a person
"What are you afraid of?" "Fish... Tacos... fish tacos." HILARIOUS
john took tan france’s fashion advice!
this video is criminally under viewed
i love this and the fact that the audio seems to be mixed really low is very 92Y
the audio is so quiet :(
Noodles made my friend laugh so hard because she has a child that only ate one thing for a long while.
10:50 completely understand the people from her school
45:30 as an Argentinian, hearing this is hilarious
big ups to Really Rosie
We are coming for you Rhys Thomas
Man with Mustache, we respect you! Love Eli Bolin!
really rosie was somehow so emotive, full of anxiety and depression at childhood. it was perfect for the full generation of gen x kids with split up parents.
I couldnt put a face to the names of the kids that they were mentioning. Guess I gotta watch it again.

John from the future told me to ask “WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE yellow SOCKS, John?”
The kids did not appear, unlike when Tyler Bourke appeared on Colbert.
please please make li'l update
Omfg thank GOD
can someone please give me the time stamp for when he talks about “pay attention”
Sound NEEDS work
Who would down-vote this?

Marika Sawyer and John Mulaney have had an emotional affair for many many years.
