A film made to fail
Can we mention that Bumblebee was apparently helping humans in WW2 when he only came to Earth 10 years ago?
To be fair there was no evidence in the first film of him only being on Earth for a few days, there was a lot of expanded stuff that said he did that wasn't canon. But there is a painting of Ironhide in TLK who we saw arrive on Earth in the first film, so unless he went back to space for some reason that would definitely be messing with the continuity. And at the start of the first film when Optimus Prime's doing his narration he says that they just discovered that the Allspark had landed on a planet they had just discovered...

I've scrolled down a little and haven't seen anyone say this yet. Unicron isn't a Decepticon. In the Movie canon, he's just a giant robot that is slowly eating the universe. In the comic canon, he's the transformer's God of Destruction, essentially. The 13 Cybertronian knights don't have anything to do with Unicron initially, they were the first 13 transformers made by Cybertron to aide his planet form. One of the knights is corrupted by Unicron. He is known as "The Fallen"
Are they 13 knights the primes? Because the original 13 I am pretty sure were the primes, and also the primes could not combine into a dragon, so they are different. The wiki says they are the 13 Knights of Iacon and their names are different from the primes.
BTW the Fallen is not a Knight (assuming the knights are not the primes) The fallen is an exiled prime (Megatronus Prime). He was manipulated into killing one of his fellow primes (Solus Prime) and thus he is exiled. Then he starts studying the dark arts and finally ends up to Unicron, the very being he was created to defeat (ironic isn't it), and then Unicron further corrupts him
In the comics the Knights were just some powerful Cybertronians who buggered off to spread freedom and justice through the universe before Earth even formed. One of the comics follows the mis-adventures (and occasional horrible deaths) of a bunch of obscure characters trying to find them.
The Primes were completely different, they were made by Unicron's brother (Primus) to kick his planet-eating ass back out of reality.
I thought so. I am just said that Bayformers in copying Transformers Prime and failing at that as well. Although, I personally did not hate Last Knight.
Really? From what I got from the movie, Unicron isn't a planet killer (in the movie cannon) but rather a sentient planet that was perfectly chill until Quintessa brought Cybertron in tow. That alone is a massive wasted potential. They could have explained that the extinction of the dinosaurs was caused during the partial cyber formation of Earth to create Unicron and they could have had the Dinobots and the Infernocons as Unicron's native mechanical life (in contrast to Autobots and Decepticons in Cybertron)
Keep in mind that they had a Writers Room, comprised of 12 of the best writers in Hollywood - Akiva Goldsman, Robert Kirkman, Steven Spielberg ect ect.
And they went through every single piece of the Transformers franchise, lore, cartoons, backstories and so on. And this is what they produced.

Decepticons had sent spies to Earth. Cybertronian Kights has been on Earth all alone... Now the devil of Transformers is Earth.......

-Transformers 2007- 4 1/2 All Sparks out of 5. Starts off slow, but as it progresses, it's worth the price of admission.
-Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen- 2 Devastator Testicles out of 5. Starts off great and caught my attention, but everything else falls apart as it goes on.
-Transformers: Dark of the Moon- 2 Moons out of 5. Nonsensical as Revenge of the Fallen, only boring. It's just weak.
-Transformers: Age of Extinction- 1 1/2 Dead Ratchet Heads out of 5. One of the worst sequels of all time. It contradicted Dark of the Moon, dragged the story to the ground, there's no need for it to exist, nonsensical writing multiplied by 2 compared to RotF and DotM, awful acting, continuity errors multiplied by 2, and it's better off pretending that this never existed.
-Transformers: The Last Knight- Never saw it. But, I refuse to go see it after Age of Extinction.

CodeXCDM dude im rewatching Prime and i have to say even though the animation isnt great for the humans in the show, the animation for the transformers is stellar. And the story is actually one of the best ive ever seen in an animated show. There are stakes. People die, the good guys dont always win and THE FOCUS IS ON THE DAMN TRANSFORMERS NOT THE HUMANS. Thats always been my problem with the movies. They focus on the humans with the transformers as side characters. Not to mention megatron is an amazing villain in the show. Hes actually intimidating and kills.

The human friends were actually *useful* too... Raphael, in particular. The MECH baddies proved troublesome, even for mere humans. Megatron was THE big bad most of the show... and they at least gave enough background to have tried the whole "We were brothers" schtick, if they wanted.

I actually felt uncomfortable with some of the things he was saying and I think that he should actually tone it down a bit in future. It's really odd too considering that it's Michael Bay, someone who I've kind of wanted dead at some points. The fact that Little Joe was able to make me feel bad for Michael Bay is just surreal to me.

Brody Mercer For fuck's sake, even the G1 cartoon episode both this movie and DotM were based on was more realistic regarding it's gravitational effects of having Cybertron that close to Earth.

Yeah it should've killed everyone on Earth. There was an old 3-4 part G1 episode (was it titled Ultimate Doom? I cannot remember.) in which Cybertron is brought to Earth's orbit and boy it did a ton of damage to Earth due to that crazy plan. My point is that even in the old cartoon was a bit more real on that cataclysm 'cuase that would happen if a planet were that close to ours.
