WOW!! Amazing Recipe. I love how it did not have too many ingredients that you have to find, and that he did it all by hand, did not need a blender. He put it together by hand pretty simply. I subscribed. He is going to blow up with subscribers.
    Great Chef.

That looks great Jun! One problem I face in cooking with vital wheat gluten is that it still has a wheaty after taste - despite adding spices while kneading and simmering the seitan in the broth. Do you have any suggestions to deal with this?
Btw, I really appreciate the efforts you take in creating such amazing content, creating awareness and sharing information. Absolutely love the aesthetics and calm vibes in your cooking videos. And you never fail to crack me up with your subtle sense of humor!😂 I hope you get more number of subscribers.

Hey that is a great question! I agree that seitan from vital wheat gluten definitely still tastes like wheat. One suggestion is add some condiment with a strong flavor/taste such as tomato paste (when you kneed), or you can serve it with thick sauce like teriyaki or barbeque sauce. Another way is, you can make seitan with the washed flour method. I find that with less of that wheaty taste. Hope this helps...
And I'm glad you enjoy my subtle sense of humor hahah, I appreciate your support & encouragement a lot!!😄👏

or I guess you could steam it instead of boiling it, so all the seasoning and spices won’t get washed away

I find that a adding a mix of oatmeal, lentil and chickpea flour does help with the flavour; however it will be softer than it would be than if you just used vital wheat. The ratios would be half a cup of the mix and half a cup of vital wheat. If you have a bit of intolerance to wheat like me, then I suggest going 2/3 of the mix and 1/3 of vital wheat. Hope it helps.

This looks amazing!! I wonder if you couldnt use the broth for the gluten BEFORE you get to the soaking part , as to infuse the bater with even More 'sea flavor' ?? Then , could we possible use a Parsnip (white carrot looking veg) instead of a orange carrot, or so for more of a "shrimp" color?? ...just a thought. Meanwhile Im for sure going to try this recipe, as it looks like the Best one yet, Thank you for sharing and your effort. Peace

Vegan fact: "Eyestalk ablation" edition. 🦐
Ablation is the removal or destruction of a material from an object.
Most captive conditions for shrimp cause inhibitions in females that prevent them from developing mature ovaries. Even in conditions where a given species will develop ovaries and spawn in captivity, use of eyestalk ablation increases total egg production. Once females have been subjected to eyestalk ablation, complete ovarian development often ensues within as little as 3 to 10 days.A common technique for this is slitting one eye with a razor blade, then crushing the eyestalk, with thumb and index fingernail, beginning one-half to two-thirds down the eyestalk and moving distally until the contents of eyes have been removed.I don't know if seaspiracy mentioned that, look it up!
