Gamemasters would be a great community management tool in game. They are an opportunity for direct community engagement, non-game wide event hosting, and that sort of thing. Imagine a non-scored trial with an invincible game master tanking. Sounds super fun lol
I've been testing this out on world bosses during events. I'll find a group waiting and I'll place a bonfire on the previous boss and play Ragnar the Red. The boss will often spawn on the last line of the song. Done it too many times to be coincidence.
The first online game I played was Fallen Earth. I don't remember exactly when I started, but I was there for a few years. I came to ESO on Oct 14 2019, the day the Fallen Earth servers went offline. The average player population there was about 40 and people were constantly asking if any GMs were online to deal with cheating. It's crazy that there's thousands of people in ESO and no one ever asks for a GM in chat. Maybe that's why no one ever sees them?
they do exist i had a really funny interaction with one in a delve during the bot train epidemic of '14 his name was GMBotslayer he had the blue tag and he was SLAYING THOSE BOTS! anyway i was in this delve and there was another player who the GM observed doing botlike things so he booted the guy to the login screen then realized it was a real player. he then wispered me "oops! you didnt see that" or something along those lines and we both had a laugh. the player logged back in and continued in the delve not knowing what even happened.
i'm pretty sure i remember seeing a GM in zone chat a LOOOOONG time ago, either 2015 or 2016 when i first got the game and was questing in bleakrock isle. can't be 100% sure since it was so long ago!!
I had an interaction with one back around Markarth at a Harrowstorm. They said they were investigating reports of bots in the area, I never actually saw their avatar but just DM's with the Z logo next to the name. Confirmed I was indeed just a player and they moved on. I assume there must not be a whole ton of them though, or their workload is quite full or they are very part time because bots can be reported multiple times and take weeks or months to see them stop being at spots 24/7.
I miss the days where it felt like you could talk to a real person in tickets. I understand that a lot of people asked for houses they missed through tickets and they would honor those and take the crowns from it. Probably didn't help ticket load, but it stopped a lot of FOMO. At least it felt more hand written as opposed to something automated, which doesn't make you feel great. I just wanted to know if Draping locks would ever come to the crown store. Been waiting for it ever since it was datamined, only to not realise it was a daily reward, missed it while checking the showcases.
I met a GM few years ago on PlayStation network and have a selfie with them was awesome and thanked them for getting rid of those a$$hole bots... Great video :)
Edit: GIVEAWAY NOW ENDED - WINNER HAS BEEN EMAILED‼️ before you guys roast me for the outfit i spent all my endeavors on it ok!!!!! not a single crate!!!!! twitter.com/Azuraaaaaaaaa_ discord.gg/7emp
It's such a good dress right?! If I where not saving my precious endeavors for Baandari Pedlar crates (if they ever return) I would have gotten it too!
I ended up spending my endeavors on the dress too. Bought the 15 crates twice hoping to get the dress or even the crimson oath motifs. Ended up getting notthhiiinnngggg. Andhad to use my tiny amount of gems and endeavors I got what I wanted. The grind comes full circle again 😂
Your voice is like very hot. It’s mostly why I Subbed. That and I love your videos. I too abhor crown crates!! Hate them. It’s killing this game. But anyway your voice is sexy, so please do more videos, girl. I’m a big fan of yours. Thanks for always being so honest about ZOS’ BS.
I like your persona :D you have nice personality ^^ yeah I kind of take breaks from ESO from time to time.. I still do writs with 1 toon, do endeavour and participate for tickets at events.. kinda 15-30 minutes per day chores hahaha I only play when I have new content to explore or someone to play with if not
In 2015 or 16 on Xbox I saw one in imp city yoink a player that was out of bounds killing ppl back into the play space. Everyone in the zone was kicked back to their alliance zone........no explanation for the kick, but I assume it was to do something to fix the exploit maybe. That, idk.
I haven't seen a Gamemaster in many years. I only saw one once banning some bots about 5 years ago. I have been reporting some of the same bots weekly for months, and they are still there. I hope I'm wrong but ZOS doesn't seem to care enough about their game to actually monitor it. This makes me sad because this kind of inattention will ultimately destroy the game. I would volunteer to be a Gamemaster for free just for the satisfaction of destroying bots! I hate them so much.
I hate when people make a huge deal about quitting games. Like it's a very unhealthy relationship to have with a game to get to that point. So I really respect your attitude of just stepping away for a bit and taking a break, it's something I do all the time too. Hope Halo is treating you well lol
After switching to GW2 and looking at ESO now... yeah, no amount of content update will pull me back not unless an overhaul of reward system and monetization happens.
I remember running into one way back when eso had first launched on console they were watching one of the first exploit farms and banning people using them lol
Now that you mention them having that half invisible effect with flies swarming them, I think I saw one a week ago but I didn't check their name cause I didn't think they would look like that. You should look at how they ban people in ff14, if it comes down to it they'll yoink you mid pull in a raid, throw you into a jail cell, tell you what you did while looking spooky as fuck, then ban your ass lmao
Stepping away from the game for a bit is something more of our player base needs to do every now and then. Some of the animosity we might build towards a game we swear we love could also be because we tend to smother ourselves with it and play it a bit too much. Personally I've had ESO on the back burner for the past few months since 2023 has been full of banger video games.
Yeah man all you got to do is just step away for x amount of time and come back. I mean look at me I came back after a year break and-what's that? Oh... it got worse. Almost like taking a break from the game does not change the mentality or the direction of the creative director and the team that he leads for the game. Weird... You are incompetent. 🤡
I don't get it why only third world countries have low prices. I know real state economy in those countries is bad but why not make universal price for all people?(Beacuse those Crowns for someone from there is really a luxury i think). While second world countries are having prices like in America or Germany which is kinda very expensive. I mean there is for sure way they can predict behavior of bots and end bot's in game.
Because had they made a flat universal price for all, aka first world price for all regions then they will have very little to no business in 2nd and 3rd world economies. Why would someone try Eso when they can play some other games for a fraction of the price due to other competitors doing price adjustment relative to their economy? With price adjusted relative to individual economy case by case they will have gain business and perhaps open up markets that they never had before. With digital goods volume of sales always more important that value of each sale because there is simply no risk in infinitely making more copies out of thin air, unlike physical goods.
Yes. For example i don't buy crowns, it's too high price(livingin 2nd world country). I was just saying abouth price differences because they are the reason bots do what they do.@@jasonchui111
Adulting is overrated. Also ffxiv is pretty aggressive on acting against bots and real money transactions so it is possible to do something about these things.

Yeah for sure. They seemed like really fun people when around and the community clearly respected them

You're spot on regarding the crowncrates, gifting/banning/restricting.
I was just thinking about this very topic last month. Appreciate the video

I only leave out from under the rock i live under for my favorite youtubers xD 😅
How many crates?
OVER 9000!!!!!!
I'll see myself out
I encountered a Gamemaster on PS4 before.
They should change refining, to make only cp 160 mats produce gold and purple mate , most bots are lvl1s

Yeah!!! I'm having so much fun with halo, it's so nostalgic. I grew up with it and it's been years since I played it so I'm re-doing all the campaigns
