It is still funny for me, that the most recognisable thing for non-eso fans, is Ascended Knight from the High Isle ESO trailer. This badass cool-looking fighter. They plaster him everywhere, he's the icon of that Chapter, and blud shows up only once in the base High Isle chapter, and it doesn't even address you directly lol. Way to go ZOS

Its hard to imagine ESVI without Jeremy Soule's sound. Oblivion is easily my favorite OST ever. His music is just as important to the series as even someone like Todd Howard

zos saw that wows sparkle pony made more money than starcraft and now they're laying off staff from other areas so they can hire more staff to make mounts. They could easily pump out massive content patches if they weren't so focused on how much money they were making. They have the money to hire hundreds of employees to pump out as much content as they want. They just don't want to spend more money. If people don't like steamcharts. You can use steamDB instead. Which is pretty much the same as steam charts but it does have other aspects. I havent played for a year, but when i did. I played on pc from the official launcher and that's only because i played the game from beta so it wasn't even out on steam. No, not everyone plays on steam. However, steam is the absolute largest storefront and that's where the vast majority probably are. Almost everyone has steam. Especially pc gamers. if something is available on steam. Steam will likely always be the first choice.

Summerset was the last time the game was working halfway well, it's been dogshit since then. I left in Feb of 2022 and I am very thankful, so many better games to play instead.

I just recently came back to the game after taking a little more than a year break and I was shocked at how much had changed. First thing I noticed was the economy has tanked and I wondered whether it was a supply or demand issue but it's probably both. Then I noticed my favorite YT creators weren't there anymore, or just phoning it in. It's clear to me after doing more research and listening to vids like this that ZOS has shot themselves in both feet and one hand and is bleeding badly. The only question is whether they realize just how badly and if it's too late. 10 years is a good run, I'd like to see another 10 but it's a real low point for sure. So sad.

, i know all about the issue, my things is that just enjoy the game, i like the game style it fit me. i still have alot of thing to accomplish. i just cancelled my subcription eso plus so i dont give them even more money. look it doesnt matter where you go eventually those others mmo will have the same issue, that how the world work i guess, it just a matter of time,

The ESO have ton of content - yes , but the quality is quite poor. Combat system is boring, repeating , difficulty of the overland is so small it is insulting adult players, everything valuable or fancy is behind the paywall and the monetization of the game is predatory. The game is flooded with critical bugs making PVP and endgame PVE content unplayable and it suffers drastic changes every couple of months as there is not clear direction or strategy of the Zenimax studio after 10 years of development. Game management is arrogant and the communication with the player base is non existing at all. I lost half of my friends in the game after the patch 35 and everybody knows ESO sucks.

They have tried to appeal to everyone and the problem with that is if no one hates it then no one will love it. Like yea everyone can just be kinda like meh or whatever but there is no passion. You have to focus on your hardcore players who are passionate about the game. Others will come and go and if they don’t like it and it’s not for them that’s okay.

This is a good example of the state of eso now. Even players who love the game hate a lot of it and spend hours upon hours doing content they don't like. This means those players, and there are a LOT of them, just race through most content ignoring dialogue, 'trash spawns', and even loot in dungeons, just so they can get to the end of it and onto the next thing. This constant speedrunning probably seems fine for players who only think of themselves but can really destroy the immersion for players who still actually enjoy the content they are skipping.

I'm gonna give my honest opinion. I've always thought the chapters were kind of a shitty cash grab. all eso content is stale and formulaic. no one cares about the 461st delve introduced... the reason i'm excited is because if you played this game in 2014-2015, you'll know the content updates were FIRE. craglorn was basically a zone-wide dungeon with all sorts of unique gameplay elements that haven't been seen since and the trials actually had contingent story to them, imperial city is probably the most creative take on a PVP experience in any MMO that i've played and maelstrom arena back in the day was AMAZING. they were SUPPOSED to make murkmire as a group-zone like craglorn, but people whined about not enough solo content, and so they started releasing shitty cash grab chapters with the same content over and over. innovation was gone, it was just a cash cow project for zenimax. some systems along the way are pretty good, not gonna lie. Infinite archive was good, vateshran hallows was the closest they came to a perfect solo experience since maelstrom. but overall, the bulk of the content has been shitty ever since matt fior and the "current" eso team took over in like late 2015. so for them to be announcing they're doing more craglorn-esque content with some gear progression or actually doing something EXPERIMENTAL AND INNOVATIVE is a breath of fresh air. it just took the whole population leaving the freaking game for them to stop milking it and pumping out garbage. so I'm actually pretty excited for what's to come. this letter sounds like ALL the shit that we've been needing for years

I played ESO since beta, and truly had hopes this game would turn out right - that the devs would be passionate and dedicated enough to know where to navigate this game, but they've been failing over and over again, taking the community and their patience for granted and this is the final result we've got: More promises and especially promises to fix things (on paper thus far) while a larger portion of people have moved on. I quit this game a couple of months ago and finally moved (back) to Guild Wars 2. I haven't looked back and don't plan to no matter how many promises ZOS spew out. ESO is ultimately an mmo facade hiding it's true purpose: Crown store, Crown crates and gambling. It's ZOS' main focus. What I find truly fascinating is how people still believe and especially hope ZOS will direct this mmo on a better path, but after so many years with constant broken promises I do wonder what keeps the remaining portion still onboard this sinking ship.

If they want to fix Cyrodiil performance, step 1 is killing ball groups' effectiveness. They did that once, and lag got better, but they reverted the change. Absolutely worth trying again. If that doesn't help, take a look at what sets are doing. It's just too much for the server(s) to do at once.

Reason why ES VI is taking so long: ❌ Vast, detailed open world with more Items, Exploration, Quests, and resources than Skyrim ✅ Getting the right Composer to replace Jeremy Soule

I mean, Balmora was radiaclly changed as well, which kinda bummed me out. But I figured "well, it's hundreds of years before any of the single-player titles... so things change. Plus Vvrardenfell has a big volcano that blew up in the future, so that explains why it's different in TES3 (maybe). But... I don't know what explanation there would be for the radical change to this city. That said, anything to do with Cyrodiil, environment-wise, has always been pretty "meh" to me. Including Oblivion. So, I dunno... I'm also biased. Also, 18:10 - That is such a ZOS thing to do. 100% on brand. They could've kept everything in zones accessible from the base game, and/or only in the Gold Road zones. But nope. ZOS is always trying to find more ways into our wallets, then pat themselves on the back about what great value they give players.

ESO is in a really weird spot for me. I love a lot of the things about the game, but they are heavily outweight by the negatives. The monetization is killing the game for me. When 80% of the game content is locked behind a lootbox paywall, it's infuriating. I want to play, and i want to earn things, but ZOS plain just won't give me things to do. They're clearly taking all the worst lessons from Bungie, and pretending that the game issues are impossible to solve, while other studios are pushing 10x the content in half the time. Everything released after Elsweyr felt like they've released it just to pad the portfolio, rather than have a genuinely creative, inspired product, full of things you can get excited about. And this doesn't even begin covering the plethora of missing QoL things, and their inability to provide solutions for those. Why do i still need to spend 3 MONTHS researching mount buffs for new characters? Why can't I have a proper armory system, instead of carrying dozens of armor sets, and flooding my bank with them? Why isn't there legendary gear like in guildwars? That recent clip of Rich defending the 7$ respec purchase says everything I need to know. They are greedy bastards. They can get frustrated, and they can feel offended, but they are selling us a product, and if the product is consistently turning into dogshit, used as a vehicle for more money, than i'm not sorry about any of our frustrations

I can’t begin to express how many hours of Jeremy Soule I’ve consumed over the course of my life. I need him back. But, as someone who has bootlegged physical compilations of ES soundtracks only because DirectSong sucked so bad (well over a year to ship; numerous arguments with “customer support”), this brought back some frustrating memories from 2012.

I agree and disagree. I concur on the horror that is the quest line to be able to scribe and get the drops from the dailies. I play on Xbox and Playstation so I get to do it twice and so far I have not been able to make myself get through it on Playstation. The story quest line I do like. Also since I am going thru Necrom on my PS, I am seeing a lot of foreshadowing that I did not notice when I went through it the first time on my XB. I agree, they could have done a lot more with Ithelia and I also wonder why I am stopping her just cause Hermon is upset about stuff. How about F Hermon. Dude, you be nasty. I also would have liked it if they made Ithelia as hot in the game as she was in the promo. I was ready to join her from the commercials. The Mirrormoor Incursions are a nightmare, probably because I am just a slightly above average player and not really able to solo them. Like the Harrowstorms, unless you got a handful of people there, well, good luck. As for the trial, the one time I have had a chance to do it was on vet, and we could not get past the first boss with the light and dark rooms. So I disagree about your assessment on how easy it is. Overall, I am enjoying the expansion. I waited till it was 1/2 price because they always go on sale about 6 months after release for 50% off. Skingrad doesn't bother me. Still figuring my way around the place, and to be honest I really do not remember much about it from Oblivion.
