Sorry I forgot to link to Dashi. I'll add to card ("i" button) when I'm on my computer later but meanwhile you can make dashi 3 ways: www.justonecookbook.com/how-to-make-dashi-3-ways/ (video). Learn about dashi here: www.justonecookbook.com/how_to/how-to-make-dashi-jiru/

Probably this filter make it even more purple.

Sei bravissima! Mi piacciono le tue ricette e ti segue da tanto tempo, anche su Facebook. Mi piace Giappone, anche se io non sono stato mai. Siete da vero un popolo con grande cultura e grande cuore. Viva Giappone viva popolo giapponese. La vostra cucina e un arte. Grazie
+shefqet karalliu Sorry I can understand completely (wish there is a translate button like Facebook, UA-cam!). But thank you for your comment 😊💕
They said: You are excellent! I like your recipes and I have been following you for a long time, also on Facebook. I like Japan, even though I have never been there. You are a people of great culture and heart. Long live Japan and the Japanese people. Your cuisine is an art! Thank you.
Thank you so much for translating for me! Awww such a sweet comment and thanks to you I could receive the message.
Thank you to both of you from bottom of my heart!
どう致しまして! ♡
This look so much healthier than regular pasta! I've never tried gluten free pasta before. I'm still working on the cheese cake. Lmao!!! I have all the ingredients (for over a week now... just have all the ingredients and not making it! Lol) I better my @$$ up to oven and make it!!
I wish I can make it with you. Took me some time to perfect this cake (and put some weight). It's work of art. LOL. I listed my gluten free pasta link in my blog post. Buy this one when you make gluten free pasta for your recipes. Taste like regular one!
It looks yummy! Nami San, could you please develop Sansai spaghetti recipe from the On The Bridge (Japan Town)?
I haven't been there for a long time! I should give it a try!
This looks amazing! Does wafu pasta work only for long noodles? My favorite is rotini. 😊
Thank you Emily! Rotini works too! :)
thanks for the beautifull recipe."..:) what is kosher salt in japanese? ありがとう😊
Thank you Ruby! We say コシャーソルト. Same, just in katakana. :)
I made this and it's DELICIOUS! I have one tip for people who are going to make it: cook your asparagus a while before the onions instead of the other way around. When I did it in the video's order, the asparagus was almost raw.
Thank you for trying this recipe! Apologize that my video instructions are not clear as my recipe on the blog. I wrote more details in the blog post - recommending thin asparagus than thick one. Even thick one, it's very hard to control the "doneness" when you cook it first, so I highly recommend getting thin asparagus when you have to saute with other ingredients: www.justonecookbook.com/easy-wafu-pasta-shrimp-asparagus/
OMG, you responded to my comment! I'm fangirling over here!! Thank you and hello! I love your recipes!
You're absolutely right, that's a perfect idea. I'm sorry that I didn't look at the blog! I usually just look at youtube and I didn't even think about looking at the blog! I promise to check it out from now on. I'm excited to see more things now!
If it helps, I'm a very bad cook, but your recipe was so easy and delicious that I ate the whole pot all by myself!!
You're too kind. :) Thank you for your sweet comment. :) I'm happy to hear you enjoy my recipes. Don't worry, my UA-cam audience and my blog audience are very different, but I would like to encourage both audience to visit other social platform to see different contents. I don't post recipes often on my UA-cam, so you can see more recipes on my blog (with step by step pictures). Thank you again for your kind support. Hope we can cook more delicious Japanese food together! xo
This looks like it'll keep a lot better than saucy pasta~ It won't absorb so much moisture in lunchboxes and will probably be a great cold pasta salad >< So happy to find something like this!
+Celina Wong That's a great point! Soy sauce and butter along with dashi is really tasty and even good with cold in bento too! 👌
Any recommendations on what to substitute shrimp and asparagus with? As my Brother is allergic to shrimp and asparagus is pricey in my area.
I suggested other options in my blog post: www.justonecookbook.com/easy-wafu-pasta-shrimp-asparagus/
Hey Nami! I am interested in trying some of your recipes. I live in a small town in Alabama, so therefore I will have to travel to a larger city for ingredients. Would you be interested in creating a video on the important Japanese ingredients that you should always have in your pantry?
Hi Luis! I have a list here: www.justonecookbook.com/pantry/ Essential is what you will need. :)
And Also, WHAT IS YOUR BEAUTY SECRET?! 😍😍😍😍😍
Your words are too kind, but I would like to know that myself. :)
Just One Cookbook
😭😭😭😭I want to look as pretty as Japanese women too.

Can I use something else besides dashi? Thanks
+Crea Moon You can skip and use pasta cooking liquid to loosen up a little bit ☺️
do you think you can make congee
I don't know how to make Chinese style, but I have my Japanese "Okayu" recipe: www.justonecookbook.com/rice-porridge-okayu/
I can use eggplant instead of prawns as I am vegetarian Thanks Ramya
Sure! :)
Ramya Padmanabhan I think you can.

wafu waifu goals
Haha you're not alone who thought that. :)
nice mic tho
+HORSCH NT Thank you!
what is dashi
I think it's essentiually seaweed
graeme hedley It's Japanese soup stock that has a subtle seafood flavor. You can get powdered dashi at Japanese grocery store. You can make your own from konbu seaweed and bonito flake( katsuobushi ). She might have a recipe somewhere.
+graeme hedley Hope my Dashi post is helpful: www.justonecookbook.com/pantry_items/dashi/
+parasdox Kombu dashi is, made of kombu seaweed and its vegan/vegetarian. But we have different types of dashi using dried bonito flakes or anchovy etc.
+Mihoko Marois Forgot to link! 😱 Ill see if I can do it on mobile if not I'll add the link later. Thanks for reminding me! www.justonecookbook.com/how-to-make-dashi-3-ways/
look like padthai
OH yeah with shrimp and the linguini! :)
What does Wafu mean? Is it the same as Waifu?
Waifu means wife (female spouse in Japanese English writing). But wafu 和風 means Japanese style. You may hear or see Wafu Dressing, Wafu Hambagu, Wafu Pasta Wafu xxxx... simply "Japanese style".
your red onion looks so indigo....
Yeah probably due to the studio light and post-editing color correction didn't turn out well.
