You do not have to deliver inside of hospitals. We are not required. Hospitals are an exception to delivering to any other type of facility. I cite for personal health and safety reasons and that is non-negotiable. I personally value my health over money for a delivery so no I’m not risking my health and unfortunately you don’t truly know what type of drop off or where it’s going to be until after you confirmed the pickup. Communicate with the customer before your arrival to meet you at the front entrance or wherever it’s convenient and easy outside of the building, or if they are unable to do so because they are a patient in a room then encourage them to have a nurse assist them and meet you. I am calm, polite, and communicate with them that I will patiently wait for them. That’s how that works. Only once did I have to contact Uber support because meeting with them wasn’t working out and I was re-routed to return the food with full pay. Hope that helps someone!
From a customer's perspective, I would prefer you let me know so I can cancel. If there's not someone to meet you at the door, the benefit of convenience is lost.
The only hospital orders I like are orders where they tell you to leave it at front desk at the emergency room entrance or any entrance with a front desk. I'm not riding the elevator up to someone's room. I've had some where they tell me to call or text when I arrive and those can be a pain waiting for the customer to come down. 🙄🙃
Then I hope you don't expect tips! If delivering to the customer, especially one who is ill, is too much for you, find something else to do. I would consider that unacceptable as a customer.
My big thing here in Vegas at the moment is the complete inverse of every other thing I do during the year: super Platinum (80%+ AR) + Earn By Time. Until the college kids go back to school and the teachers do the same, the saturation of drivers here is insane. Instead of fighting for DD shop and delivers and catering orders, the EBT game has served me incredibly well. Regularly averaging $20+/hour and I think that because I am Platinum, I’m seeing much higher tip rates than normal EBT (80%+ orders have a tip). Plus, I am now stationing myself near restaurants that I know will always be behind schedule because EBT means every minute delayed is a minute I’m earning cash.
He can dash now, and will always be busy in market compared to non plat drivers. Also, its is around a 20$ average with good miles (usually around 1.5). I do it in arizona (plat + ebt). I multi app with it also, so i never have a slow hour. I'm a full time gig worker, why not have access too all the apps at all times? Not needing to schedule is a game changer, and its 3.35 orders per day... make your money on other apps do ebt, get your a.r up, only decline stupidly long distance orders, always wait until the pick up time so you can click a reason as to why the order is delayed and you wont get hit with a bad rating, drive under the speed limit, dont worry about slow drivers or red lights, learn how to chill, and make easy money. I dont get why people hate doing a few non tip orders, door dash is subsidizing it now
One of my best tips was a catering order to a hospital. It was a front desk drop off. $55 tip. Then the next day I get a text saying that $15 extra got added. Wish that happened more often.
Try delivering at the Mayo Clinic here in Arizona.... insanity.. but honestly for the most part they have me leave order at front desk, but not always lol
The hospital that I deliver to is always going to nurses. When I was delivering Crumbl Cookies you would not believe how many people stated that their name was so-and-so just to get the cookies.
That's why you always ask them what name is on the order. I never ask, "Is your name so and so.?". I've only had one person give me a strange look (lobby of a hotel), but as soon as I say that I don't want to accidentally give it to someone else who is also waiting for an order, they get it
In my city Kalamazoo, MI we have two hospitals at both of them we deliver to dropoff points I have never delivered to a room at a hospital. Also here we get good size trip radar orders on uber.
In the way that you do it the way you're doing hospitals is all wrong. It's either going to be the main entrance at or near the front desk, or emergency room after a regular hours at the security desk, almost every single hospital is like that . Now there might be offices in a section of a hospital which is like just an office building and those are easy. . But when I get to the hospital and they already have not given instructions as to which entrance or if it's the medical office building, this goes for any hospital really, or emergency room after hours, which I do as a matter of regular course I don't even text the customer it's always going to assume emergency room or emergency area security desk or checking area and you just leave the food there, 90% of the time people are meeting me there anyway. Main desk main entrance for the hospital, you just leave it there you take a picture everyone knows what you're doing, and they don't expect you to go up to the room. 75% of the time it's a relative or friend or they're the ones going to get the food for themselves or the patient, and if it is a patient ordering it's going to stop at the nurses station anyway to double-check that they're not screwing up their diet which may have to be restricted and therefore you're not getting in trouble for being accused of smuggling food they're not supposed to have
FYI, on the UberEats app, it's only an exclusive order when "Exclusive" is in the same bright green color as "Delivery". It will always say exclusive next to the word delivery though.
A lot of these shifts you're not even getting to $20/hr. A few years ago $30+/hr shifts were common. You wouldn't accept that much of a paycut from a W-2, why do many accept it with gig work?
None of the hospitals in my area let Dashers go up to the rooms. Either the customer has to meet outside in the (un)loading area, or they have a delivery table in the lobby to leave the order. Makes hospital orders in my area easy, don’t think I’d take them if I had to go to the patient’s room.
The worst thing about place and pay is you have to wait in line like a regular person you're not going to let you jump the line unless you have just something to pick up.
Lately even here in Toronto Ontario Canada, the trip radar is throwing out some pretty good stuff but more and more like it’s not as random as it used to be…
One of the hospitals I deliver to has a spot in the main lobby where all food orders are placed, another hospital I deliver too, I always have to text the person which section of the hospital you are in so I can walk and meet them outside
The only thing I hate about driving for Uber eats is if they send you a low cost delivery from that customer you will be locked in with that customer for other deliveries from the same restaurant at the same low price..
Seems like it would be confusing with so many apps open getting multiple offers simultaneously then choosing one or maybe a stack, which are stressful to me, then pausing everything. I just like doing straight Uber rides with the Uber Eats option on if I’m trying to finish a quest.
I agree about airport deliveries. I’ve accidentally accepted a couple orders to San Diego Airport, thinking it’s one of the hotels across the street. Those are the biggest pain to deliver, I’m more careful these days to look closely if the drop off is in that general area. Unless it’s a crazy offer, no thank you!
Wow ❗ always the best intel. I'm having a tough time lately doing Uber Eats, spark, etc.. I was told by a friend should go trying instacart? Whats your advice from anyone welcome! Big thanks
The Customer likely has to show an ID, because maybe they ordered something like alcohol. So they then would have to prove how old they are to receive it.

I got two orders today that were already picked up by somebody else, Uber eats needs to do better.
Yes I agree! Crazy....

There is no priority with EBT, your platinum status doesn't matter.
This is for Uber Eats?

Love your hospital story! I agree, I hade to deliver some flowers today, took 45 min, finally did it, never again if can help it.

Freedom tax? Lmao...More like a stupid tax. 8:08 @@polishpimp4233
I am in college and have two kids. I do it so I can work whenever I want/can.

Lucky when I deliver to hospitals it’s either front desk reception or someone meets me in the lobby.

i think it would help if u had your city in your intro, so every video would make your location clear to everyone
Pittsburgh, PA.
The benefits I have working in a smaller city is that it’s never as busy as the big cities.

We get a lot of orders to BWI Airport. DECLINE! 😂😂😂
OMG, I live in Charlotte. I could not IMAGINE delivering to our airport.
@@anitodd4262 I’m not doing it. Parking, going on an adventure looking for the customer. I’m good! ☺️

Place & Pay: I call and place the order on my way there.
I know all the hospital streets by heart. DECLINE!
My last GoPuff order was 8 am for $4 for 10 miles. Get your own booze.
Morning shift I made $100+ today then another $100 at dinner
Is there a new payment system with Door Dash?
How do you figure out how much tax to hold out
All the hospital deliveries I did they came out to pick up there delivery
You said you daisy chain multiple delivery apps is there an app that will calculate the best rout for all apps at the same time?
Its at least 50 percent luck, always. Youre trying to control chaos.
What does "Customer Verification" Mean??
The Customer likely has to show an ID, because maybe they ordered something like alcohol. So they then would have to prove how old they are to receive it.
Daisy Chain aka Dirty Stack
Uber is my favorite because of flexibility
Wait you said gopuff? But that's all uber eats
Yawn
DoorDash is still the best
