This video is priceless to me, having just purchased a mk2 escort and not growing up in that era, I don’t know all the little differences! Thank you & will be looking forward to some more videos 😁

👏 great video
great video, very informative. But what about the lowered rack crossmembers?
Gracias por poner subtítulos en español, hacéis un trabajo genial!!!
Un saludo desde España
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the detailed reply,
it really helps me alot. Could overs it is then as u Don want that lowering look which really makes the car look amazing.
The next challenge now would be which brand to look for.
Once again thank you for all the support.
Great video could you tell me how much further up the hole is for the TCA bolt hole thank you
Great video do you have to use a World Cup cross member on a duratec converstion on a escort
Hi there, we removed the blistern shocks from our RS2000 mk2, and replaced with stock struts, the spring is rubbing on the inside frame, the arm is to short now, and we cant figure out whats the problem, im thinking it may be cross member, any thoughts, cheers SB.
Great information and explanation between the different cross members. How about some Cortina related videos? Differences between RHD & LHD, maybe some Zetec swap info.
Thanks for the feedback John, we will definitely be doing some Cortina and Zetec conversion related videos soon so keep an eye on the channel 👍
Are the tca’s and steering racks/tie rod ends the same on standard and rs2000? I need a rack and I’d like a decent crossmember too but don’t want to order up the wrong tca’s. The car has unknown brand coilovers in it (mk1 escort)
Thanks for the very informative videos, covering topics I can never Seam to find answers too.
I have a MK1 escort with standard crossmember, which I’ve added strengthening gussets to, but the TCA hole is in the original (lower) place. I have my car fairly low and camber and castor set up correctly. My bottom arms are almost horizontal, as you mentioned in this video. Is this a major issue and what driving issues could this cause?? It seams to drive well but was wondering if I need to rectify this?? Any guidance would be much appreciated. Regards Craig
It will be fine like it is ... if it was a full race car and you where chasing ever advantage you could get them you would change it .. hope this helps
@@Retrofordltd Really helps. I’m just happy to know it’s fine and safe as it is. Thanks very much 👍
Is the World Cup crossmember dimensionally the same as the rs2000 or standard crossmember? Apart from motor mounts of course.
I have one fitted to my mk1 but some people tell me to remove it because it will ruin the handling unless I run super high ride heights like a rally setup, but I run mine quite low.
Hi Daniel, no you will be absolutely fine to run your car as it is with the World Cup crossmember. If it was a full-on race car and you were chasing every advantage you could get, then perhaps you would make some adjustments / change some components but for a road car there is really no need. 👍
I'm thinking of buying a world up crossmember for my mk1 with a zetec setup. On the website you have a normal and a lower one for sale. I'm not sure what one will be best for my car?
Hi Spenc, please contact us on Enquiries@retroford.co.uk and we will help you identifiy which crossmember you need 👍
