    Hi Steve and Ryan. Another quality video on restoring these classic cars. I think when you get to the finishing stages of these cars, this channel is going to go nuts. Very few people realise the amount of work that actually goes into these projects . Honestly, I love your channel and the work you do.

    A craftsman always make it look easy ! , as a skilled tradesman, I watch these videos, and see the love and attention to details that Steve displays, and know that the finished car, is going to be safe strong, and cherished
    Skilled men like this are few and far between these days, lots of billy bodgers around who will finish it quick, but this car is built to last, and most likely far stronger than when it came off the production line
    10 out of 10

    I love to see your craftmanship.
    In this video I kind of feel a little worried about the strenght of the spring / shock absorber holder (basket).
    The two side stiffeners next to the basket are just spot welded with 2 spot welds to the upper panel and a weld completely on the front to the basket, where the side stifferener is weakest.
    All stress of the wheel suspension is now taken up mostly by these 2 spotwelds.
    I would weld the side stiffeners to the basket on the inside, so basket and side stiffereners form one solid construction.

      Exactly what I was about to write... Thats not right, why would you not add more weld... Also, the top under section is only part welded, that Definitely needs welding all the way round, or at least on the three visible sides, these bits are very important..... Apart from that this guys work and videography is great......

    Great job as always. Would like to have seen some primer on the strut tower top piece before it was welded in place. Strut top rot always seemed to start between that and the inner wing. Perhaps some seam sealer?

    I worked in a car factory and I know how easy it is to almost literally throw some parts in a jig and weld them up.In these videos it's all about careful measurement,skill and experience.I like watching these videos to see such talented people using their abilities to bring these cars/airplanes/boats etc back to a new life.

    Superb content as always. Have had several Mk 1 and Mk2 RS Fords ( Still got one ) the way you could always tell a genuine RS/Mexico was that all the MK 1 cars were built using what Ford termed as the Type 49 body shell. This could be identified by the reinforcing plates on the strut towers very visible when you opened the bonnet. Are these to come ?

    Great work and attention to detail, if I were young again! At that time the Escorts were still affordable. I restored some and butchered some to get parts, great time back then and with a Pinto or a tuned 1600 Kent We were at the forefront at the time. Enough chatter!❤

    • @justinsimpson7934
      @justinsimpson7934 7 місяців тому

      Because it gives you a lot more movement to get all the panel gaps correct on the front end. Then the type 49 strengthening parts can be welded in afterwards
