Karlach is such a Frat Bro. The way she acts to this and when you eat the spider she's so much like that one dude in college who's no-judgement/no-hold-bars kinda dude and I love her for that.

Same! This was after Astarion was revealed as a vampire, so when he said something about how much blood my Tav had in her, Shadowheart was like "Try not to lick your lips when you say that..."
Just did this with them 2 last night. Was the funniest scene I've ever had haha. Never even knew this guy existed lol. Thankfully stumbled onto him as DU

I'm romancing Shadowheart in my current playthrough and my headcanon is that the moment she watched this was her "alright, he's the one" moment.

Also, never let Astarion, Karlach, Lae'zel, and Tav/Durge do ANYTHING by themselves. That's just begging for something catastrophic, and all four will enjoy the whole thing.

My Astarion said something different the first time I did this because I wasn't romancing him. He told him to hit me harder or something.
my astarion said the "i had my hopes" thing and i wasn't actively romancing him. I just had good approval from being chaotic. I did the goblin camp after the swamp so maybe that was it? He even started propositioning me at the swamp by starting off rambling about how i liked being bitten, so i just walked away and his reaction was funny. didn't stop him from shooting his shot again at the party lol
is there a prerequisite to get the shadowheart and astarion interaction? I've gone through it a few times now and can't seem to activate it
Not sure what triggers them if you have your whole party together, I get them interchangeably on the same run if I reload save. What I would suggest is to ungroup and bring with you only the companion whose line you want to hear :)

You have to know about astarion's "secret" and have a high friendship with him and Shadowheart. :D
I was romancing Astarion when I got there with SH and Karlack… I got the dialogues which SH said “say that without licking your lips” and “would you join them if they were into this?”
Yurgir,ethel, abdirak are so great love them a shame abdirak never appears later let alone join us in the final battle, same with ethel we can only use her spell in the final battle however she is pregnant at that time makes sense she isnt directly on the frontline 😅

Are reactions in BG3 based on RNG? There were no companion reactions at all when I went through this scene

Yeah, I think they are cause if you go back a save and do the same scenes, sometimes you get different reactions. I think some reactions might be rarer than others though bc they're usually the same but sometimes they differ
Most companions are just joking u bc u do it willingly.

What rewars do you get?
A permanent buff that gives you +2 to AC and attack rolls when on 30% health or lower
@@Jas7520no, it's +2 to attack rolls and +3 to wisdom saves when at 30% or lower. It's a neat bonus but not critical to obtain

My Abdirak was bugged in my playthrough so here I am lmao. Kind of disappointed it didn't work for me.

Yeah, this is the reason I dont let Gale, Karlach or Wyll in my party no more :D (two no funs and one overreacting - dont hate me!)
Bad people are those like Wyll or Gale who don't support tourture and don't want to see you hurt yourself.
Good "fun" people are assoles like SH and Astarion who actively support you harming yourself and laugh at your pain.
