- Thermalito is a very good tasting fig, but it's not without its flaws.
Pros: It has a great flavor, it seems to ripen easily for me. Cons: It can be susceptable to splitting, it is a late-ish fig and Northern Virginia is probably on the northern edge of where you can ripen it. Also, if you are expecting this to be an adriatic-type fig, its not (at least not outside of figwaspland). That's not necessarily a bad thing, because the taste is great, but its just a matter of expectations--dont' expect this to be an adriatic.

Thank you! The term Adriatic has become overused IMO. Lots of figs that definitely aren't, are being called that, because they're greenish/yellow with a reddish interior.

I'm starting to realize many figs don't look special without pollination. There was also the same discussion about boysenberry blush.
