The sorceress was allowed to live for far too long , especially considering Heir had cav and flying lord. p.s That weaves into my previous point that If Vlad and Izzy are going to be together, one of them should have other lore of magic, its a waste to have 2 lores of Vampires.
Wasn't invocation of nehek nerfed to only be single target, even when overcast? Some use having another lore of vampires caster. Still, having shadow magic would have helped a lot more in this match. A pit of shades on the elite infantry would have gone a long way.

Seeing all the sub-faction colour variations just makes me more certain that we *need* an army painter in-game. It doesn't need to be some in-depth thing; just let me set the primary and secondary colour between say, 10 options and set it for both individual units and armies. I'd be really surprised if CA doesn't already have the meat and potatoes of such a mechanic already for how they recolour sub-factions in the game, and this is a Warhammer game ffs, just let us customise our colour schemes!

Also letting the sorceress live really cost them the game, Vlad was tanking like a champ, if the blood knights were still intact in the end, it could have been a different story. But man, pit of shades seems OP, there is hardly any time to dodge it and it just deletes elite units.
GG GW are bad pick vs dark elves. Predictable, no shield, fragile, expensive. Investing too heavily into infantry core for vamps is stupid most of the time. A skabscratch wight king is good vs expensive unarmored DE infantry. Black guard of naggarond are better avoided or tarpitted with zombie summons.

Niccceee Slaanesh really strong in the drucchi aspect. Maybe Morathi and Malus get like... some cool thing to do with the fact that they are the most slaaneshi non slaanesh lords in the game
Malus being possessed by a Daemon that he resists is the only Slaanesh thing about him and he is anit-chaos just the the rest of the Dark elves Morathi is getting Slaanesh corruption and daemonettes into her roster, read the faction updates notes from the devs
Reckon Isabella probably should've been FAR more aggressive in hunting down the dark elf caster... those Pit of Shades were just straight-up _nasty!_ Aside from that - great fight! ;-)

Poor vamps sure feel like if you don't just focus healing they suffer a lot. Also can elite units get some pittance of magic resist? A single spell shouldn't wipe an entire unit, or shouldn't be able to be used several times per game...
magic/spell resist is unfortunately just not very good. Peak Gate Guard have a bunch and still essentially become useless after a good overcast Pit of Shades. it needs to be really high values to make a noticeable difference
Pit of shades probably needs a longer wind up time. Maybe a 5 sec telegraph before the spell actually activates to give the opposing player a chance to counter play. Especially given how powerful the spell is.

Dude the graphics of this game are actually kind of difficult to look at. Everything is kind of murky and hard to make out except for the blinding glints coming off anything even a little bit metallic
Less than a month to go. Big hyped. This update has done a ton to get me excited again for this series. The vamp changes are fantastic from what it seems so far, and the refresh button on TW3 is sorely needed, from the WoC campaigns to IE. is it 8/23 yet?
the blood knights could have pretty easily avoided the pit of shades, just didnt move in time. other than that, it killed a unit and a half of Grave Guard, and some hp on skeletons, which is hardly a disaster.
6:50 I don’t think that’s quite right. Malus and most other lords have a cap on the number of entities they can damage, so he’ll just be wasting damage against the extra bodies he can’t hurt. And those abilities being on cooldown, all while wasting Malus’ heal cap, makes for less than ideal situations if it’s time to snipe an SE or start crunching through cav.

Healing and mortis engines being key to a faction with low leadership/crumbling and relatively low attack stength for similar infantry units in their price range. Not exactly shocked lol

So we've heard lots about all the buffs that the VC got and they look pretty badass. My Tomb Kings get any of the same ones? At the least Tomb Guard should certainly get the same buffs that Grave Guard did.
Pit of shades should be strong, but made more expensive. Practically all of the stationary vortexes are the same now and I hate it, Pit of shades 15m radius, 5 AP normalcast, 10 AP overcast, 13 second duration, 13 | 20 cost. Talons of the Night 15m radius, 5 AP normal cast, 10 AP overcast, 11 second duration, 14 | 21 cost. Infernal Gateway 15m radius, 5 AP normal cast, 10 AP overcast, 15 second duration, 18 | 24 cost. Black Whirlwind 15m radius, 5 AP normal cast, 10 AP overcast, 17 second duration, 15 | 20 cost. Krakens Pull 15m radius, 4 AP normal cast, 4 AP overcast, 15 | 30 second duration, 15 | 20 cost. 45% slow Blizzard 15m radius, 4 AP normal cast, 8 AP overcast, 15 second duration, 18 | 26 cost. 30% slow Plague 15m radius, 8 AP normal cast, 12 AP overcast, 20 second duration, 11 | 16 cost. The Dwellers Below 15m radius, 4 AP normal cast, 4 AP overcast, 15 second duration, 17 | 21 cost. 60% slow on overcast +dot effect All of them are entirely AP damage, all but one (Plague goes up by 50%) double damage on overcast, all have exactly 15m radius. All have some level of pulling in or slowing units. The most unique stationary vortex is The Dwellers Below, because it also applies a dot. Otherwise they are carbon copies. 5 damage if only pulls, 4 damage if also slows, double damage on overcast, etc. Especially when the duration and cost seem to be random, like plague is the cheapest, does the most damage, and has the longest ( base ) duration. The only downside is it has the weakest pull on units. Pit of shades is the second cheapest, and can even hold in some cavalry, meanwhile most others have negligible impact on cavalry.
How would you propose changing them? Personally I'd like to see Pit of Shades be the smaller, elite-killer stationary vortex. Probably go down to about half the current radius. Talons of the Night could have weaker vortex damage with small but powerful bursts of damage where the claws slam down to make it more of a cav-killer and less of an infantry killer. Infernal Gateway would benefit from dealing fire damage to benefit from the faction's fire synergy. Lowering the damage output and giving it some debuffing effect would be pretty thematic too. I have no idea about the others.
I agree they should change them a bit in radius and give more different effects like charmed, poison, blinded, frostbite, fire, discouraged, sundering etc.
I like most of the counts changes except magic attacks on the graveguard and black knights. I think its an overreaction/panic reaction to demons. 20% isn't that bad.
It's lore friendly and makes sense, 1 faction with a small map presence being good against physical resistance isn't a bad thing. I'm all for it, but their heal stacking on cheap mobs is really oppressive
@@MrFartquad If it is lore friendly then I suppose its alright. I'm a bit worried about CA overreacting to demons by just giving a ton of stuff magical attacks. The healing is a bit nuts but everything still has heal caps so it isn't bonkers that I've seen. The healing combined with the huge leadership buffs is a bit much though.

Dude the graphics of this game are actually kind of difficult to look at. Everything is kind of murky and hard to make out except for the blinding glints coming off anything even a little bit metallic
Some of the new bloom effects should be reduced, yeah.

Less than a month to go. Big hyped. This update has done a ton to get me excited again for this series. The vamp changes are fantastic from what it seems so far, and the refresh button on TW3 is sorely needed, from the WoC campaigns to IE. is it 8/23 yet?
Yeah 23rd is what they stated.
One thing that they still need to change though is that some Vamp units dont have crumble like Isabella here or the Dragon Knights

This kinda felt like watching a match where pit of shades basically won the match with very little options for counter play.
the blood knights could have pretty easily avoided the pit of shades, just didnt move in time. other than that, it killed a unit and a half of Grave Guard, and some hp on skeletons, which is hardly a disaster.
Isabella supported by Knights could of taken her out, but they never fully committed
VC could have hunted the caster
6:50 I don’t think that’s quite right. Malus and most other lords have a cap on the number of entities they can damage, so he’ll just be wasting damage against the extra bodies he can’t hurt. And those abilities being on cooldown, all while wasting Malus’ heal cap, makes for less than ideal situations if it’s time to snipe an SE or start crunching through cav.

thanks mate! dunno about campaign, but they're basically the same in battle as in wh2. same strengths and weaknesses, some very lopsided matchups that go both ways

Healing and mortis engines being key to a faction with low leadership/crumbling and relatively low attack stength for similar infantry units in their price range. Not exactly shocked lol

So we've heard lots about all the buffs that the VC got and they look pretty badass. My Tomb Kings get any of the same ones? At the least Tomb Guard should certainly get the same buffs that Grave Guard did.

Pit of shades should be strong, but made more expensive. Practically all of the stationary vortexes are the same now and I hate it,
Pit of shades 15m radius, 5 AP normalcast, 10 AP overcast, 13 second duration, 13 | 20 cost.
Talons of the Night 15m radius, 5 AP normal cast, 10 AP overcast, 11 second duration, 14 | 21 cost.
Infernal Gateway 15m radius, 5 AP normal cast, 10 AP overcast, 15 second duration, 18 | 24 cost.
Black Whirlwind 15m radius, 5 AP normal cast, 10 AP overcast, 17 second duration, 15 | 20 cost.
Krakens Pull 15m radius, 4 AP normal cast, 4 AP overcast, 15 | 30 second duration, 15 | 20 cost. 45% slow
Blizzard 15m radius, 4 AP normal cast, 8 AP overcast, 15 second duration, 18 | 26 cost. 30% slow
Plague 15m radius, 8 AP normal cast, 12 AP overcast, 20 second duration, 11 | 16 cost.

All of them are entirely AP damage, all but one (Plague goes up by 50%) double damage on overcast, all have exactly 15m radius. All have some level of pulling in or slowing units. The most unique stationary vortex is The Dwellers Below, because it also applies a dot. Otherwise they are carbon copies. 5 damage if only pulls, 4 damage if also slows, double damage on overcast, etc.
Especially when the duration and cost seem to be random, like plague is the cheapest, does the most damage, and has the longest ( base ) duration. The only downside is it has the weakest pull on units. Pit of shades is the second cheapest, and can even hold in some cavalry, meanwhile most others have negligible impact on cavalry.
How would you propose changing them?
Personally I'd like to see Pit of Shades be the smaller, elite-killer stationary vortex. Probably go down to about half the current radius.
Talons of the Night could have weaker vortex damage with small but powerful bursts of damage where the claws slam down to make it more of a cav-killer and less of an infantry killer.
Infernal Gateway would benefit from dealing fire damage to benefit from the faction's fire synergy. Lowering the damage output and giving it some debuffing effect would be pretty thematic too.
I have no idea about the others.
I agree they should change them a bit in radius and give more different effects like charmed, poison, blinded, frostbite, fire, discouraged, sundering etc.

I like most of the counts changes except magic attacks on the graveguard and black knights. I think its an overreaction/panic reaction to demons. 20% isn't that bad.
I believe thats something they had on the tabletop.
It's lore friendly and makes sense, 1 faction with a small map presence being good against physical resistance isn't a bad thing. I'm all for it, but their heal stacking on cheap mobs is really oppressive
@@MrFartquad If it is lore friendly then I suppose its alright. I'm a bit worried about CA overreacting to demons by just giving a ton of stuff magical attacks.
The healing is a bit nuts but everything still has heal caps so it isn't bonkers that I've seen. The healing combined with the huge leadership buffs is a bit much though.
@@1987retroman The real winner is anyone with a lore of fire caster, Flaming sword of ruin and kindle flame give your units magic attacks and damn near +100% weapon strength against Daemons or other psychical resistant units
@@1987retroman Flaming sword of ruin giving +22% more damage, kindle flame essentially giving +20% more damage, Daemons having 20% PhysResist BEING IGNORED, you get +62% more damage on any unit(s) against Daemons, and that's not considering other effects
