Im 21, I've been struggle with pores, and i started to use all the BHA ( salicylic acid) toner with retinol a313 at night, niacinimide serum with suncream at morning every day for more than a year.
Now my pores do much smaller, my skin became less oil and not just that the skin texture is much smoother, brighter, some of my wrinkles starting to disappear. I cant be happier with this routine now. 🥰🥰🥰
can u please tell me the names of the products you use. I am also 21 and have the same problem
@@mahaswetachakraborty5819yeah me too, especially bc it’s mainly my left cheek where my pores are huge and my right side seems only slightly larger than average
So do you think that using the salicylic acid at night is better than in the morning?
Wow I thought we couldn’t use retinol and salicylic acid together, skincare confuses me
@phamngoclannhih2992 I would like to know name of products I have same problems for years
I love that she is simple about the problem, then cause then solution with easy to acquire products!!!
@@smileyy777
It's smileyy777 and the like number is 888. ☺️
Well, you really can’t ignore the fact that skincare is a huge investment.
It's very rare for a dermatologist to address the issues and provide several recommendations in the same video. Thank you!
@@arelunk Especially recommending products that are accessible to most people, which is awesome!
Yes, I LOVE this Doctor!!!
Important stuff
@@arelunk most will prescribe accutane and hope you don't die 🙄🙄
Man I haven't seen a doctor like this in a while she explains very well and gives examples of PRODUCTS and not WHAT we should use without any options as l find it difficult to find the skincare with the same advantage
I like that you said these are ways to minimize the "appearance". I really dislike when people make impossible claims about reducing actual pore size.
I love that you tell what can be used for certain effects, but then also give examples of products you find helpful!! Even if someone didn't want to go with one of your specific recommendations, they can use the examples to find similar products they will love :))
Thanks, I've learned to live with my orange peel face. I'm 58. I will definitely try those products. Too bad there's not a permanent cure for large pores. ❤
Im 43, & microneedling did lessen my huge orange pore marks.
@N.A.R1980 Wow, thanks 😊
pore size are mostly genetic! Don't feel bad for something you can't control 😊
Alpha hydroxy acids are another great ingredient that she didn’t mention. They don’t have any effect on your oil, but they do have some effects on collagen and skin renewal. Additionally, alpha hydroxy acids cause the dermis to thicken up, this thickening can be extremely effective in smoothing out the texture of prominent pores. (They also help fade pigment which can be useful for other reasons besides texture)
@@MK_Meow.Meow.I agree completely, but we can slightly tweak the way our skin looks without being too intense so if those small changes help you accept your skin then I think that’s the best case scenario. Not only do those steps also help care for and promote skin health long term, but they help reverse signs of damage that we inflicted on ourselves because we didn’t know any better before. All of that said I’m not a “rewind my age” person. I’m 32 and I’ve had Botox once in my life to fade some serious anxiety lines that med school gave me, but I want to encourage my skin to age gracefully and at its fullest potential. That is also, I’m sure, op’s goal with trying to improve their pore texture.
what i‘m gonna has nothing to do with the video but woman i would listen to your voice all day, idk why i really like the calmness, the accent, the tone….
@@staysloveskz I feel the same way, she seems to be very reliable and no non-sense.
Thank you for keeping it straightforward and informative without superfluous conversation. Youre the best
Out of all the skinfluencers here on UA-cam, I trust her the most
got this video of the correct information i needed for free but when i payed alot of money to go to a dermatologist years ago he couldnt even give me accurate information so i continued to struggle with the same things, my face is already "clearing" up after barely a month from when i saw this video. thats actually crazy to me
A salicylic acid wash used with a niacinamide serum is just pure magic!! Highly recommended the cosrx salicylic wash and the ordinary niacinamide serum 👍🏻
The neutrogena salicylic acid face wash is so good
Your videos are very informative! You are doing a fantastic job at sharing useful information 👏
The way I screenshotted my life away! Lol
@@LoveyourzAF😭😂🤣🤣🤣me to
@allysonmayshack9320 I need this; my millennial skin has had enough 😆
Pause & SS away lol
I really appreciate that you're suggesting more affordable products that are easily found at Walmart. ❤❤❤
Immediately subscribed! I don’t have large pores but I found this information useful anyway. Thank you for your straightforward advice.
I had this on my boobs for years, and for me all the go tos (aha, bag, niacinamide, retinol) didn't work. I got a bar soap with sulphur on Amazon and the improvement was immediate! I feel like the one I use would be too harsh for face skin, but if anyone is interested, I thought I'd share!
@@ElloLoJo May I ask which sulphur soap brand did u use?
I love that this lady doesn't mess around- she gets straight to the point and answer it clearly and simply, _(and I know its a short but the amount of shorts that don't answer or even get anywhere near to answering what they are supposed to be about is insanely high),_ the products she recommends are quite reasonably priced too.
New sub here. I'm 31, chronic smoker with an autoimmune disease and a lot of somatic stress and trauma which has suddenly lead to premature ageing in the face while I also have these pores so it shows even more now that I've lost collagen retention a bit. So I for real am gonna start using your recommendation as a complete skincare routine and I'll give u a feedback, cause these look good, affordable and effective recommendations. Good video, you also narrate your videos thoroughly and you are to the point while not so fast that we, the viewers, can't keep up, so I appreciate this, as well Bravo and thank you.
@@WelcomeToTheOpera__ okay what was the update
@@mahi1614 full update:
1. I did the routine every day among with some other things such as that I added also a rice milk toner and a red light pulse gua sha thingy to use right after the skincare. I have seen prominent results in the wrinkled forehead area, the nose area when it comes to the clogged pores and the neck as well.
2. I avoided dairy, although I must admit, I had a relapse the day before yesterday till today, but as I still use the routine to this day, it has for real helped me limit the acne apparition caused by this (dairy overconsumption).
3. I also used a collagen drink and paired it with vitamin c for maximum absorption. It makes a difference, too.
4. I added 7 minute breathing exercises to limit my everyday anxiety and catastrophising, cause if you're stressed constantly from chronic stress and unhealed trauma, all the best skincare in the world can only get you to a certain point but not past that. You have to regulate cortisol. I'm thinking of starting therapy as well. So it's 50-25-25 your skincare or lack there of and your lifestyle and inner wounds. So you can of course change your appearance by changing your mind and breath work has affected my skin betterment as well.
5. I was consistent even though at first it was a hustle. Every beginning seems difficult even the smallest act if you have executive dysfunction especially so it's necessary to be resilient and consistent with an everyday use of both the daytime routine and the nighttime routine.
The skin products that I saw were the most effective were the inkey list serum, the cerave retinol, my sunscreen (I didn't use her recommended loreal product, so use whatever suits you) and the salicylic acid cleanser. Just don't overdue it because it's basically chemical exfoliation so do the salicylic acid occasionally, not everyday and use a mild oil control cleanser or micellar water for an everyday use.
The things I can admit made the overall biggest difference are:
A. Following the night skincare routine religiously. Each time, I woke up flawless in the morning. There was a huge difference. I also waited a few hours after waking up and did the daytime routine at 11 and after, in the morning, and till then I only used sunscreen and maybe a bit of the rice toner and watered my face in the early morning if I had to go outside before that time and didn't touch my skin in general. I did this so that I don't strip the natural oils, hence moisture, of my skin and so that the night routine effects last longer and I don't clog the pores with excessive product use. I created a skincare time window/rotation basically. So to simplify this step: wake up, water the face, always use sunscreen even inside the house as uv rays can penetrate the glass doors and windows of our homes, then only do the red light thingy if you have it and for 5 minutes max, then the skincare if you have the time and ALWAYS do the main care at night.
B. Second most effective thing for me personally when it comes to lifting and wrinkle reduction especially was the retinol pf course but also admittedly the pulse red light gua sha machine, cause it literally firms your face muscles as it exercises them, so skin and muscle mass stay in tact and become better with consistent use.
And lastly, the collagen and the cutting my hyperbolic dairy consumption. I eat cheese and good quality yoghurt every other day so I still enjoy it just not in the excessive amount I did in the the past.
To conclude, these habitual things have indeed changed my face and these products have been also very effective for that change. Even if the strawberry skin and the acne is existent for the past few days, despite that, it's very minimised. And the wrinkles are reduced.
So I back this video, these were indeed good recommendations.
@@WelcomeToTheOpera__ thank you for the reply that to it's a very big one
My skincare is tretinion nothing gave results like that even if u change food lifestyle my skin had been very tolerant have been using it from 3 months loved it
@@WelcomeToTheOpera__ but did you quit smoking?
@@StickerSupremecy127 I quit every day chain smoking but to be truthful I still smoke occasionally. I know.
Thank God! finally I'm able to see black brown skin examples
Mmm. Her voice is silky smooth. I could listen to her all day.
I love that all the products are affordable to buy ❤
Thank you for always recommending affordable products. Im sick of people recommending expensive things you can only buy online from scetchy websites or stuff that is always sold out.
Yes,she is simple & share with all the products unlike others go around the bush..
I loved your skin and beauty. A feminine, well-proportioned and beautiful aura🩷🩷
@Dr. Simi , it seems you took a very long break from UA-cam because i have be longing to watch your contents!
Welcome back and best regards from Kano, Nigeria 🇳🇬
Me ha encantado, explicación sencilla, recomendación de productos de marcas diferentes y asequibles, y tampoco muchos para no confundirnos. Gracias, doctora.
Yes! I need skin smooth and radiant like yours Dr. Adedeji😩😍💕
What are some good books to learn about different skin care ingredients? I will love to know what ingredients come in each individual skin care i buy is very interesting to me
Thank you for actually giving us ways to fix our problem. ❤
Since I was 20 I followed the same rules as my grandma, in the morning never leave the house without suncreen on your face and dont go to bed without washing your face, now as 25 yo man i have no visible pores, soft skin and most of the time not a single pimple.
And my skin was a mess back then, I know with age you tend to get clearer skin but I'm pretty sure the sunscreen is doing most of the work, sun damage is no joke
Ma’am, I just want to say… bless you. I’m 33 now and just recently started taking care of my skin (finally). Why? Because I always watched skincare videos and saw how expensive everything was and basically said “There’s no way I can afford to do this right, so I guess why bother.” You change all that. You make it simple and affordable. These videos can provide an actual, tangible and lasting impact on young people by showing them how easy, realistic, and mostly importantly budget-friendly it can be to take care of their skin. I wish I had seen videos like this ten, fifteen years ago. I’m sure I’d be in much better shape. Thank you for what you do.
Great info, thank you so much! I like your easy to understand, no nonsense content. Easy to get into skin care even for the inexperienced!
I have all of these from cerave. Let's hope it works
I needed this. Thank you!
If you or your loved ones are grappling with any skin disease, head straight to Dr Seer Herbal Home’s UA-cam channel. Specifically, be sure to search for a video titled ‘Natural Treatment for Vitiligo and Other Skin Diseases, there you will see natural treatment for any skin diseases
Por fin alguien que habla cosas coherentes y consejos verdaderos 😊
I subscribed right away, voice is soothing to hear, not too fast not too slow, good explanation and accesible solutions~ love it!
Great advice. Also. It is Propaganda when products claim to "Shrink pores" you cannot Change the size. But salicylic acid, collagen, nicinamide. All the things she recommended do a great job. Also essential oils..and witch hazel as a toner. ❤
I've have this - horrifically oily rosacea skin gigantic often clogged pores and basically the more I repaired my skin barrier the better it looks. I always avoided moisturing too much because oil but using nip and fab hyaluronic acid at night followed up by some rich skin barrier repairing moisturiser and its sorted.
I mean drinking more water helps too
Thanks for this, I actually love the fact you use products that reasonable priced too and can be picked up at the drug store. ❤
I have a collagenopaty (sorry if I misspelled) and this is the first time I find out about how this could be affecting the skin of my face, thank you so much for the advice and recommendations!
finally someone suggested eucerin products ❤
Thank you for being super direct!❤
I use a pore filling primer to finish the look. Cuz I feel like alla that in my pores makes em open wider to release the oil they are naturally producing. Using a primer reduces the look of pores even more. I use it on my cheeks and upper lip. Sometimes whole face, but those spots specifically get treated with more attention to detail.
I’m 100% saving this video. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Thank you so much!!! I have huge pores on my cheeks , below my eyes. I appreciate this so much!
I always thought that salicylic acid was just for helping with acne prone skin! I didn’t realise I could use it to unclog my pores! 🤯 Thank you!!!
Thank you for getting right to the point and providing specific products to target this issue 🔥
I gotta try this! I just wanted to tell you that God loves you. ❤
Please add Asian skincare recos as well if you can! :DD In some parts of Asia, these products aren't available or are very expensive (imported) or hard to find or fake (sadly some sellers do sell fake skincare)
Thank you for this. Would love cruelty free options 🐇💕not sure why we still use products from companies that hurt animals
You should be a dermatologist in Bridgeton 😅 man that voice is so calm and you go straight to the point unlike others...
Needed this...thank you😁👌🏾!!
Glad it was helpful. ☺️
feels like i came to see a doc in real. wow you talked about MY issue!
Thank you!! I appreciate you showing what the products look like too
Thank you for this,my daughter has these but can you tell me some products for my 12 year old daughter please thank you.😊
I tried the Neutrogena one first. I had to take my time with going through the jar because I am a new retinol user. I could only apply it once or twice per week. Now I’ve moved on the the ROC serum capsules and they are more soothing, my skin looks noticeably smoother. The neutrogena was better for my nose I will say. The ROC seems better on my cheeks and chin which tend to be dry and flake from retinol.
Is ther any alternatives for retinoids or retinols because some can't use it as it gives trouble with brain related treatments so is there any ?
Inkey list stuff is amazing and so affordable - it’s the same as trendy designer brand products but without the fancy advertising and packaging.
I’ve had the best success fighting clogged pores with oils rather than salicylic acid.
Thanks! I'm saving this video. Really appreciate the range of options you provided.
I use all of these and still have big pores
I have minor pores like this and my dermatologist doing a TCA peel next week. I will let you know the results at a later time.
Using a derma roller a few times a week after cleaning the face can be extremely helpful with reducing textured skin and enlarged pores.
I cannot recommend 'Cetaphil cleanser for oily skin' enough! Perimenopause had given me terribly oily skin and with that, giant pores. I saw a interview with Victoria Beckham who recommended "Cetaphil cleanser for oily skin". Now the pores are all closed. I use it every night.
I'm gonna go broke with all these products 😅. You know the less products I put on my face the less I breakout.
literally
Very useful video. And her voice is so calming.
Thanks for the knowledge, please what products are safe and okay for Pregnant women? since they can't use salicylic acid, etc
This is really helpful I'm always getting oily clogged pores on my nose and forehead
When oranges have those types of pores, that's when they're the best, they taste so good.
Bless you! I'm making notes!
Dr Simi your eye make-up is gorgeous 😮
Have you done strawberry legs? I have PCOS and hide my legs away cos of this
Such great recommendations! Accessible price and availability! Thanks Doctor!
Where have you been all my life!! ❤
Thank you! You are not also giving the list but as well an easy to find product even in outside us and europe just like my country is.
So appreciate it mam.
You’re welcome! I’m glad it was helpful! 😊
THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH, MY PORES ARE BARELY VISIBLE NOWOWOW
I know a lot of people in Taiwan who have skin issues that need to see a dermatologist but to my surprised they are not advised to wear sunscreen as taught "less is more" rather only advised to wear hats or use umbrellas when outside.
Thank you for an affordable accesible list!
Thank you ! Love you give budget friendly product reccomendations.
Saving this video great drugstore products
My issue is some of these products MAKE my skin feel more slimy and oily than it was before 😩 so I leave it alone 🤷♀️ just cold water to clean my face and go that's all.
Wonderful video! Problems presented with solutions for each! Thank you!
Thank you. I’m glad you found it helpful. 😊
It would be helpful if you also recommended a combination of these products that would work well as a routine. I’m sure all the products are great, but it may be too harmful to go in with a salicylic acid treatment then a moisturizer that also contains salicylic acid right after.
Entre para aprender sobre la piel y me quedé para ver lo bonitas que se le ven ese color de sombras 😍
This is some really good skin care info, doc. Thanks!
Commenting so I can come back for reference. Thank you so much for the tips
I am from Brazil and I love your job! You are amazing ❤🎉
I love the suggestions whenever I really supposed to put all of this on my face?!😮
I heard from other dermatologists that sulfur 10% masks are for sebum production control and anti inflammatory purposes!
Go see a dermatologist they can prescribe stronger products than these over-the-counter products and you’ll have better results. I have oily skin and large fours and this is how I help with that. Also take advantage of the treatments and procedures they offer in their offices.
try using Tretinoin, they are stronger version of retinol. same benefits but stronger. and it is cheap because it is considered a patentless "generic medicine" instead of "skincare" products, and since it is stronger, you can dilute it with moisturizer and no need to restock for a really long time. mine has been 3 months and haven't ran out yet, I think it's good for another 2 months.
Or just use shea butter, simple. It does everything.
Niacinamide, salicylic acid, retinol, sunscreen
What would you recommend for someone very fair-skinned who needs a strong daily spf without blocking pores or stinging the eyes? I have a terrible time finding a sunscreen that doesn’t make me break out or look like I have conjunctivitis all day.
Thank you Dr Adedeji!
For Oil control being logical is to stop eating oily food, the only solution….
Whenever I drink homemade green juice, or eat 8 or more strawberries. My pores shrink almost instantly
I feel it too after eating dragon fruit. Like instantly glow
I would like to ask if they are natural things that can be used?
