    to add to your video, hell yes you can live in Thailand on SSI. I'm liven well on $1,600 a month. But ofcourse you still have to be smart about it. I have a great girlfriend and live in Udon Thani in the north. I would like to say more, but I don't want to say more.

    80K Baht, Retire Visa, Motorbike, US$1,400 - Starter Kit to stay in outskirt. (2021). I wonder how much it would increase by (2031) when I reach 55. Currently still in the mission to save up - Easy to type but hard to enforce :)

      Yes it’s not easy to save for retirement but it’s definitely worthwhile only thing I would have to say is retire as soon as you can LOL hope you are well and good luck I retired at 51 I was lucky but you never know when it’s your time to go that’s why I say as soon as you can lol do you live I. The US ?

    Hi Dave. Nice to meet you. Found your channel through Chucks video. Looking forward t exploring your videos. Something you said here I'd like to confirm. For a married couple applying for a retirement visa, do you need 800,000 baht in the bank collectively or 800,000 baht each? We're selling our house (in SoCal) and moving to Chiang Mai. Take care!

      My question to is since you are on ssdi what did you do when you got the CDR letter from SSI ? Was there ever a problem with Social Security, and getting the letters from them to you

    • @GottoLoveThailand
      @GottoLoveThailand  7 місяців тому

      No Just get a my security on their website and you can check and print any letter or anything that they sent you, but I’ve never had any problem with my Social Security at all

      @@GottoLoveThailand wow! Really’ I am planning on coming there and I’m on ssdi myself and really was a bit concerned about that and also about getting mail from individual entities like the VA, and OPM! I’m from Florida! I guess you like it there! I was just wondering if it would be a good place to to live

    I really enjoyed that number that you hit $1300 is exactly what I'm going to be heavy and you made me change my mind so I'm going to look toward toward coming to Thailand and I'm not A partier like I used to win I was In my thirties I'm way over that most of us are once you get to 65 years old at least that's what I am today but I looked at my portfolio and I based everything on social security cost it's what I want to go under For Social security I don't spend money even though I'm in America and I am making money I have a house with some good equity and I'm looking to bring that out With a good property management company L o l You want to leave how high the rental property is going in the area more than a mortgage unbelievable But for me I enjoyed your video watch it From the beginning to the end I always go with the lowest number even though I have Other assets But you were the one point on the number that I was looking to be at and I'm A loner anyway been practicing it for the last 8 to 10 years all by myself just working lmao,,, But looking for a possible mate after a divorce About 10 years ago now I'm looking to Retire thanks for the video

    How does some on ssdi receive the long forms or short forms ss sends to people every few years also what about doctor visits aren’t they needed to continue to receive benefits

    • @GottoLoveThailand
      @GottoLoveThailand  Рік тому

      They have not sent to me in over 4 years You would have to ask and tell them you live here and can you go to a Thai Dr for your check up.if not I would say you have to go back to the US and go to DR.

    • @ohno-zx4if
      @ohno-zx4if Рік тому

      What a pain in my balls I would cry if I had to fly all the way back to this shit hole depressing country to only see a doctor for there stupid forms. If they stopped spending trillions on wars that accomplish nothing but death and destruction maybe they could leave people who have been declared disabled 25 years ago alone. Thanks for the quick response i guess I’m going to keep my usa bank account so I can withdraw overseas and not even tell. I will worry about it when the problem actually happens I can’t live like this anymore watching these south east Asia vidoes on UA-cam is taken years off my life.

    I live on the island of St. Croix US Virgin Islands. I had a stroke back in 2021 December and Two months later my landlord did not renew my lease. I was paying $800 a month to live in a studio. I now am watching a house until it sells thanks to good people, who are helping me to recover from the stroke. I have no children and I’m considering A whole new way of living and have considered Thailand, mainly because I can probably rent for far less and have a Studio or one bedroom in better shape than what I had.
    I just qualified for Social Security disability. But that is all the money I have at the moment.
    Do you think it would be practical for me to live In Thailand on
    Koh Samoa please give your honest opinion. I’ve lived on Saint Croix US Virgin and I have only seen my family once in 13 yrs

    Is there any problem with ssdi & living in Thailand, I heard its ok to live there
    But some people on ssdi have had problems from ssdi living outside the us

    • @GottoLoveThailand
      @GottoLoveThailand  2 роки тому +2

      I have not had any problems but they do direct deposit to bank in the states and then transfer to Thailand. That’s because I need money there if not I think they will deposit it to a Thailand bank hope this helps stay safe

      For SSDI you can only live abroad for 6 months. You must return to America for 30 days after 6 month stay, or they will cut your money off. After 30 days and filling out form, you can return abroad.

    Dave, this is the first video that I have seen you in without your hat. It just popped up on my stream.
    Your a ‘handsome man’ . You should do your livestreams without the hat.
    Dave, what convinced you to purchase a home versus continuing to lease. I keep hearing that it does not make sense to purchase. (I also purchased our home, well, because I wanted to, and I wanted this home to be my Wife’s when I am no longer here)
    Did you have a heart attack in Phuket , and in the hospital for 3 months ?
    I believe that it takes discipline to retire and live in Thailand. It is not for everyone. I have been doing this for 27 years. It feels natural for me.

    In the Uk a state pension is less than 750 dollars a month , it’s also frozen at the point of when you leave the Uk so it’s devaluing with inflation from the minute you leave . Also in the Uk our medication is free at the point of delivery , in my case medication I have to take forever would cost me around £200 a month . It’s a no brainier for me to live very comfortably in the Uk rather than live like a pauper in Thailand like a couple of my mates do now a haven’t a pot to piss in .
    Glad your happily settled again mate and can afford to live there comfortably

    • @GottoLoveThailand
      @GottoLoveThailand  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the input I did not know what retirement in the UK was. I got a little lucky on the meds as if I did not have the insurance through my wife my meds would be 200.00 US or maybe a little more . as long as you can live comfortably that’s part of the battle being retired thanks again for watching I learn some useful information

I came over to your channel via Joes link ,, we’ve allways liked Joe and his exploits , again hopefully we hope to travel down there to see him one day , but as things are at the moment it’s not looking good .👍👍

      Yes will do as and when we can get over , we still have a travel ban here in the Uk so we’re holidaying here this year in a cottage on the Scottish border so looking forward to that anyway , we normally go to the Canary Islands every year and will go again as soon as allowed

    Continue being consistent on UA-cam. This is information people need and they also want to know what life is like out there. I know younger people who simply vlog living there under 40k subs earning 5k usd per month. UA-cam can be a blessing. God speed… doing live streams, leaving a cashapp link, etc for donations helps also

    Thank you for the info!! Realizing there are a number of individuals providing monthly expense videos, it's still important to get multiple viewpoints, so it is much appreciated that you share :) im debating whether to retire in one year after the pandemic impact is minimized, or retire in two after saving an extra cushion when i turn 58. Either way, im anxious to get back to southeast asia!! Stay safe and look forward to your channel growing, God bless!!!
