- I need your help, because I don't understand two things that have happened today in Bangkok, Thailand.
First, from the Bangkok news is the latest update on the Thai Election where the votes are in, but it still feels far from over. Second, my latest video - 60 Seconds in Thailand - got age restricted to viewers over 18 years old. Can you tell me why? Seriously, I am asking for your help. Nice work! I've always enjoyed your channel. Thanks for trying not to be involved in and take side on Thai politics. You've definitely made the right decision because Thai politics is very complicated and it'd take more than 20 years of looking back to really understand it.
It's not really "pro-democracy" vs "conservative (pro-authoritarian)" like most medias describe. Partially, it's more about corrupt politicians vs law & order, etc. Even more complicated, each side has several factions, good and bad, mixed together.
It's weed subject age restriction. Don't forget it's still a serious crime in many countries.
As someone who has worked in telecommunications my entire working life those cables drive me crazy.

@shaunashton9744 - can you confirm that those jumbled wires are actually telecommunication wires, not power lines? I've heard so many different descriptions of those wires.
Kevin P, the majority of the cables are communications cables. A Thai worker told me it was too hard to find faults so they just install a new cable. The strain on the power poles is not good 😟

@Kevin P they're definitely not power. Not thick enough and if it was god help us. Even 1 power cable in that mess would create noise issues. There's probably enough of those already.
All cable you saw mostly fiber optic from communication provider and 90% is unused. (The number is from The Metropolitan Electricity Authority; MEA who own the infrastructure)
Ok. I need to fix this misunderstanding. Those are not electrical wire. They are old telephone wire mix with internet fiber wire. You won't get electric shock with those.
You can see there are 2 mass layer of wires on the pole. The electrical wire are upper, at almost the peak of its pole. So Basically, the lower are not dangerous. Well, I mean if you don't tripped over them when you cross a bridge, of course. 😅

I watched that age restricted news reel twice, and I don't get why its age restricted, YT's algorithms get worse every year as its head gets shoved further and further up its own butt.

Most of the cables on the power line are Fiber optic cable (FTTX). When you cancel the FTTX service , they just let it stay up there. and line the new one when someone make new contact.
There's probably a big business in recycling all the old cables, surprised that there's no project to clean it up. Do you work with Thai Telecom networks?
@@shaunashton9744 They have a project to remove all lines to underground on Sukhumvit street just a week ago, I heard from the news. I am Networking engineer become Apartment owner, I did not work in Networking anymore.
@@shaunashton9744 I heard that thay remove non-used line when the pole can not carry the weight of the cable anymore. They did it but rarely. Network Infrastructure in Thailand most of them are FTTX media that why internet in Thailand is so fast because They just line it new every where.
@Jitsak Srisakwarakul I have had a little experience in FTTX, what you describe is the exact opposite to Australia where I am from, our networks were quite good but getting run down, as they are mostly underground no one notices that much. Plus the speeds have always been terrible
@@shaunashton9744 I think the real problem is not local network in your country that make it slow. I think because it your country geography is alone, big and distance from another. Backbone connection has been invested by only 1 country. While Thailand is in the middle of southeast Asia close with many countries, they can share the investment on a same big backbone undersea cable project. I am not sure , am I right? but it is what I think.
Fun Fact: If a video is age restricted then it is not suggested nor is it actually viewable to/by unauthenticated viewers. A very large percentage of views on YT are not logged in.
Agree a lot + Chris, I watched your video after log in, and I have missed the big age warning sign tagged somewhere. Are you sure there is one sign displayed for "viewers" or is it only for you in the managing tools of your channel ? Some youtubers have been slammed by the AI, even the night wish master of sin city
usually the age warned videos have a blurred picture thumbail, and your last video thumbnail is crystal clear... Groucho Marx would have said : "the first 5 year old kid nearby can check it easy"
Tim Newton was demonetised for talking about cannabis on his TNT daily news programme, he called it broccoli the following day and still got demonetised.

This is in regard to your request to watch the 60-second news video and comment on why UA-cam put an age restriction on this video. It was really hard to figure out. The only scene I thought might be a bad influence for young people to watch was when the Russian drinker drank the lit on-fire vodka and it went down his neck and front of his body. Maybe UA-cam thought that was too dangerous and a bad influence on young people? The only other part may be when you were in the pot shop asking them to roll you up a joint before work. But nothing blatant or obvious. I wonder why... ;0

As soon as you say cannabis the video is flagged and demonetized. Tim Newton said the “C” world gets him all the time so he started calling it broccoli and his videos were also demonetized. The age restriction is interesting, maybe that was added because you spoke about rolling one up for use. Pretty lame how strict they are on weed, the must have a bunch of old people in charge at google who are still scared from seeing reefer madness in the 50s 😱

It's not necessarily the marijuana content. In this last week I've heard many UA-camrs comment on videos being demonetized or age restricted and no one can figure out exactly why.

It will be the word Cannabis Chris. I know another UA-camr who found out this in a similar way and now refers to it as the Devils Lettuce. Another one I know had to call it coffee. He would talk about the type of cannabis, or the variety he had bought, and use the word coffee instead of Cannabis e.g. sensemillia flavoured coffee.

The formation of new Government is going to the predicted processes.
In relation to cannabis, I can remember cannabis, opium and heroin etc, while being illegal being freely available.
Then over 3,000 people being summary executed in a drugs crack down.
In the last year or so the practical no regulation cannabis production, supply and use.
with whatever the parties or how many elections that have to be carried out... democratic or not.... no any parties could transform this land to a total democracy ✌️😎
