no you wouldnt go drive the glc or x5 and the mdx you will see the difference there is no way the mdx drives better then bmw thats just stupid to even compare them be real
@@fidanrexhepi2121 I haven't said anything about which car drives better or anything like that. Personally I will take the MDX over any German built. Too much useless crap in them that makes me wanna puke. Everyone has their own preferences , that, my friend , is what makes us individual.
Agreed. IMHO if it’s not dependable, it doesn’t deserve to be called luxurious. Who has time to worry about breakdowns, trips to the shop, loaners etc?
James Bondarchuk Look for a 2012-2013 as these are the last of this generation and most of the problems have been weeded out. I would also check for proof of maintenance and get it inspected by a reputable mechanic before you buy it! The mdx is the best bang for the buck, I work with all types of vehicles and these ones are the least problematic, much better than bmw or Mercedes SUVs or even a Porsche suv! My friend bought a 2005 Porsche suv paid over 130k for it (new) and after five years the trade in value was 30k, where as an MdX would hold its value MUCH better than the Porsche or any other German SUV. Hope this helps.
I bought a brand new 06 MDX and put 175,000 trouble free miles. Only repair was an Alternator and some weird water intrusion under the front floor mats. Reliable absolutely!
My 2002 BMW X5 3.0i has 226,000 miles and still going strong the engine is probably the best part about it, I hate the suspension issues but do the work myself so I shouldn’t be complaining because I don’t pay dealer
My 2007 MDX currently has 301,000 miles and it has hands down been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Only replaced tires and a battery. Did timing belt and water pump replacement at 300,000 for preventative maintenance. That’s all.
That's great, I've been looking for a 2012- 2013 MDX...too many recalls on the newer models. The newer models are made in Alabama, older models were made in Canada.
The 2009 Acura MDX had the best reliablity record of 'em all. I ain't complaining about my 2007 MDX Tech -- 'cause it was ** FREE **, and I'm loving it !!
I've owned cars from every make and I'm done trying to impress others. The older I get the more I gravitate towards Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus. Those and some 911's have been the only trouble free cars I've owned.
NuclearGrizzly I can say the same for Ford! Mercury grand Marquis, LINCOLN Town cars, Crown Victoria's , Fusion, Mustang, F150 All Extremely reliable vehicles! If you buy AMERICAN ... Ford is the way to go! Scotty would agree!
I have a 2009 with the Navigation system. I have almost 190,000 on it right now. I do the maintenance when it is scheduled. Never had a problem with it except the little decorative tabs on the air vents fell off and the cup holder in the arm rest of the middle seats is jammed closed. I have towed a almost 5000 pound Lund Tyee behind it and the drive train had no problems. The front brakes, however, will not like that. I drove that rig halfway across the country with no issues. I had a bunch of deer walk into the road on I-5 in Washington state and at 75 mph my avoidance maneuver did not put me over the cliff and we stayed upright. Love the darn thing.
Again , I gotta agree with Scotty, being a dealer who regularly sells both MDX and X5 and comparable SUV I gotta tell you that the MDX is THE best overall SUV in the market and X5 is a hit and miss type. X5 handling is great no doubt but it can surprise you with costly breakdowns. If you wanna play safe and still have fun and good looks, go with the MDX. And yes if you dont need a big engine/ 7 seater then the smaller sibling the RDX will do the job.
I remember I had an uncle that had this car. My cousin and I would play with the GameCube in the car cause it had the plugs for the screen in the passenger area. Maybe not this MDX but there was one that had a screen. Solid car!
@@NFLYoungBoy223 Im the original owner of a 1908 model t daily driver 14,000 original miles. Original tank of gas - ice cold a/c, still has new car smell.
Alan I would take it over ANY POS JAPANESE or German Vehicle made today! Henry Ford Was a Genius! Let's fast forward 100 plus years and see if any German, Swiss, JAPANESE, Italian cars made today are still around! I doubt it!
My 2007 MDX has 165k miles with only routine maintenance. I would certainly take another one over anything from Bavaria. Value for this car can't be beat.
Love my 2012 mdx! Had it since 2015 and no experienced issues either. Only complaint as mentioned is the gas mileage. Very roomy without looking too bulky/long from the outside. Super smooth ride.
True, I am a BMW owner and I disliked the video because as an open minded person, I was waiting to learn how this car is better than mine, but nothing was taught other than one persons opinion about a car they don’t even own!! Lol. It’s their friends car! R u serious? Somewhere out there is someone who says their Kia is way better than an Acura for the money. Opinions are like...well u know. Everyone has one. There are plenty of other comparisons for why one car is better than another even ones that dislike my car or brand that I would gladly thumbs up because they’re done in a meaningful fashion. 300hp in an MDX is not the same as in an X5 or X3, and I’m not just taking about power to weight ratio. I’m talking about the entire reason, people buy these, some of which to race. When’s the last time you heard, without researching, anyone buying an MDX to race? You didn’t, so stop searching 😂. Any car can be turned into a race car including an MDX but it’s not built for that the way an X5 or even X3 is. The engine and tranny are mated to each other for smooth shifting and obscenely fast acceleration unlike the MDX. Why do you think there are track events for X5’s and not for MDX’s? Lol. If an MDX could hold its own, they’d have their own track events and or show up at other track meets. If ur looking for the best bang for ur buck, YES, buy an MDX, better yet, do like Scotty and buy a Toyota! Lol But obviously anyone who buys a BMW or any other luxury car is opting for something a little more. Yeah, sometimes that more is more money spent fixing it, but it’s OUR choice, OUR money that we’re grateful to have. I’m not a brand loyalist, you show me a car that handles corners, accelerates to top speed and shifts as smooth as my X3 or an X5, has an interior I’d like and costs less to maintain, I’ll switch right now! Hey, I still regret basically giving away my 1987 Buick Regal T-Top Ltd, and I might buy and fix another one later on, but until my car has had its day, I’m keeping it and I’m still racing it!
got an acura rdx 2008 and it save my life when in the snow storm I come in a droping curve too fast for braking , I have just turn a little bit more the steering wheel, and the car understand perfectly what to do by slow down the front interior wheel and make me turn like a dream in this nightmare
Just bought a 2012 with 127k miles. It’s solid, and It drives so good. Engine is still responsive, transmission and suspension are smooth. No way does it feel like it has 127k miles on it.
I love my Mdx. I’ve own two of them. I’ve owned a 2009 and I currently have a 2015 all wheel drive. The 2009 I purchased with 230k and traded in at 250k. My 2015 gets me up to 28 mpg. I love my ACURA . This is my 6th ACURA. I’ve owned 2 bummers and spent tons of money on them. Not my mdx.
Remember to change your automatic transmission fluid, transfer case fluid, and rear differential fluids (3 different kinds) with honda brand at maintenance times. Dirty fluid can lead to problems. This also suffers from the power steering pump leak. It may just need the 2 Oem O rings replaced and a fluid flush not always a full pump change.
Ninja Master I disagree. I have a 2011 MDX and I just replaced all my fluids to higher performance oils and it runs amazing! Mobil1 in the engine, redline D6 in the transmission, Amsoil severe gear in the transfer case, and ATE Typ 200 DOT 4 brake fluid. I also changed the transmission inline filter and the transmission pressure switches. The thing runs like a dream and so smooth. I decided to go with a high performance brake fluid because the heavy duty Honda DOT3 burnt up on me in a year just city driving the family around, no towing. Just from switching to the DOT4 high performance brake fluid the pedal is noticeably firmer and extremely responsive and I need to change all my brakes within the year, so I can only assume the results will be amplified. Don’t be afraid to use non OEM fluid.
BMW brake down because of poor design. That simple. For example, instead of using generic hose and clamps that you can buy cheap anywhere, BMW uses proprietary plastic connectors. These plastic hoses are easier to damage then metal clamps and with age they get brittle and break. Furthermore these hose are expensive, a little hard to find and sometimes difficult to install or remove - I had to carefully pry one off with a screwdriver then use a wood clamp to press it back in. Also, most BMW transmissions don't have a dipstick. They say you don't need to change the auto transmission oil but that's not really true. My brothers BMW 325i's fan belt broke which whipped about cracking the above radiator hose connection and disconnecting the transmission cooling line. Most of the transmission fluid drained and we had a hard time refilling it because it didn't have a dipstick. We had to jack up the car and while it was running, fill the transmission using a hand pump into a service hole in a very hard to access location. Then we had to reset the CPU using a scan tool in order to make the transmission shift correctly again. Replacing the fan belt, hose and filling the transmission took half a day with two guys and costed $115. In comparison, I changed the transmission filter and fluid, air filer, engine oil and spark plugs in my Scion XB in 2 hours by myself and costed $80. I'd never buy a BMW. BMW: hose $30 fan belt $25 trans fluid $60 XB: Trans filter $20 Transfluid $20 air filter $10 engine oil $20 Spark plugs $10
Anchovy depends. If they are older models, than they will last. I drive a 98 e39 with 170,000 miles. Runs like a clock new ones will last only 70,000-100,000 miles at most in my opinion
I have a 2008 Acura RDX(non-tech) and I love it. The only thing I'm working on replacing is the stereo. Very basic. Speakers are great, but only SiriusXM, AUX, and 6 Disc CD Changer. Not too shabby, but the screen is pretty useless compared to newer stereos. I'm going to clean the oxidation off the headlights, and put an Android Stereo in that can use the steering wheel controls.
Jason J. Same, my 2003 BMW X5 4.4 has 170,000 miles and still smells like new inside like it came out of the factory although I’m the 2ed owner the first was a girl that drove it
I finally traded in my 2010 Acura MDX fully loaded every option 160,000 flawless miles! I went with a bmw this time around and although I do love my bmw, I really miss my Acura! Best suv I ever owned. Im hoping my bmw never lets me down.
There are only two type of people who should be buying BMW's. Those who can work on cars consistently or those who can pay for repairs consistently. All other should steer clear or just lease them.
the amazing 3.7l v6 engine also burns a quart of oil every 1000 miles lol. ask me how i know. make sure you change your oil if you want it to continue to last. After 5500 miles (15% maintenance minder), only 1 quart comes out for me out of the 4.5 quarts! there's a recall on this engine for excessive oil consumption and rebuilding the entire engine is the fix!
@@nickcoats5227 that's lame. Try 5w-30 oil as that's what they run in Japan. I'm going to try it on my next oil change to see if it helps with the issue.
That Acura MDX is awesome and 1 of the best! If you can just get pass the fact that they use a timing belt and not chain then you will fall in love with it! And by the way.....the AWD version is even more fun to drive but more expensive! 😉👍🏆
My 2006 MDX with 106K miles still drives and runs excellent..I added led lights and change the oil every 4000 miles. Speaking from experience, the mdx perforated leather seats dry out and deteriorate quickly in warmer climates... but the overall vehicle quality is exceptional!
I'm a big fan of the Honda J engine, it is the sweet spot between a generator/marine/industrial engine and a high performance/luxury/economy engine. It just has a lot of character and grit while still being able to feel really good and I like that a lot about it.
My first vehicle, I love it. I was originally going to get a little lemon sedan and I was talked up to the MDX. I've put a lot of money in it but it's got 200K plus and very strong still. I love racing games and go karts, this car is plenty sporty enough for me as a first whip.
We bought one of these new when I was 3, so I basically grew up with it. It is much better than many cars made much after it, especially considering that ours also has a navigation screen that takes phone calls
Lincoln should get either a 2008-2013 Acura MDX, or 2007-2008 Acura TL Type S!!! Both have over 300 HP, has a 3D BOSE audio system, and are super reliable and luxurious, with Japanese cowhide. Also both have 5 star crash ratings, and SH-AWD with a computerized suspension system!! Both can also be had for $7,000-$12,000!! Depending on the milage. I love my 2004 MDX Technology. 184,000 miles, and drives like it is brand new! It drives like my dad's 2011 Range Rover Supercharged! And the sound system is phenomenal with Bose Surround sound!! Plus it has a 5 star crash rating, weighs 6300 pounds! Gets 28-30MPG on the tollway, and has VTEC, and 284 HP! I named him Maximus. I had bought Maximus when I was 15 myself. I had mowed over a hundred lawns, trimmed countless trees, and worked my butt off! It was well worth it to own such a phenomenal vehicle! Now I had just turned 21, and Maximus is doing fantastically, and still drives like new! Even at 191,000 miles! That's my Acura story.
Replaced my timing belt on my 07 mdx at 100k, and it looked like it could’ve gone another 50k miles. Same with the water pump, still looked so good when I replaced both.
I had an mdx but it takes a lot of gas and it premium gas you could take regular gas but it says that premium is required. Then I got a 2005 Honda CR-V it was great lots of cargo had some small issues but nothing major. My current car is a 2014 Honda Odyssey it’s great and driving like a dream. Lots of cargo.
I have a 2014 Acura MDX and it’s amazing, the SH-AWD is amazing, and the interior is incredibly clean. No problems at all, only had to change the belt and am going to have to change a joint up front on the tire. Reasonable prices from Acura and If the work is long they let you borrow a more modern Acura! Got to test out the A-spec for two days last time I left my Acura for the belt.
Whoever disliked probably owns a German vehicle.... I think that's probably be pissed that this MDX will outlive their X5 you can pick the latest model, it will break before this goes
Big whoop! I have a 2008 MDX with 192k. FYI I had a 2002 first gen MDX with 232k miles but, the transmission went. All do You are right the 2nd generation MDX are MUCH improved over the first gen.
Jet black custom 2013 Acura MDX Advanced. Identical to the ones in Captain America! But even more epic! I named him ONYX 11 years, and half my life of dreaming, it is even better that I could ever imagine! Doing some epic modifications and custom work in the coming years! I’ve done a few awesome ones 6 months in. Completely restored the interior and exterior, including the rust! And put around 300 hours of hard work into the truck! I did the best that I could with my tools and a low college student budget. I don’t own many tools, because I have nowhere to store them. I had mechanically refurbished the engine, transmission, catalytic converter, power steering, and more to list. I baby the truck! I will insure will last it until I am 30. But life happens, and nothing is guaranteed. I learned that with my beloved old 2004 MDX Tech. (Maximus). A computer virus from a 2006 navigation system(Trojan horse) very very unfortunately killed all of the computing units! It killed Maximus. I cried privately for weeks! 7 years (age 14-21), 220,000 miles, many fun and sad experience later, road trips, and memories. Over 500 hours of repairs work and hot rodding! That truck was my life! I loved Maximus more than any (romantic) relationship that I’ve been in through my youth. People can be shallow. Maximus was not only my vehicle, but my passion. Still sitting in my driveway for 6 months. R.I.P old flame. 🔥
You're not missing much. They are highly expensive compared to their Honda counterparts. Plus none of them are made in Japan. You have to go back to 2004 to find one Japanese Domestic Model from Acura.
The original Denso Radiator has a design flaw and causes the transmission fluid to mix with the coolant and contaminates both systems. It can be fixed by flushing the coolant with water and the transmission with transmission fluid to eliminate the coolant. Changing the radiator early is good preventive maintenance.
It may be a Pilot based model, but it had more power, a much higher quality interior, better seats, better handling, better sound system, etc. There is A LOT that sets the two apart.

@@fidanrexhepi2121 I haven't said anything about which car drives better or anything like that. Personally I will take the MDX over any German built. Too much useless crap in them that makes me wanna puke. Everyone has their own preferences , that, my friend , is what makes us individual.
Jack Sroka the MDX is made in Canada. so it is a foreign car.
@@frankdenardo8684 Yea, and I live in Canada. My sister in law works at the plant in Alliston, Ontario.
My dad has a 2015 MDX. Incredible car, very comfortable, very reliable and a very smooth engine.
@Joseph Pineda Not a lot. Between 40-50k miles. It's only been used in vacations for road trips.
I had a 335i that I loved, but when I needed an SUV I went for an MDX. Dependability is the most important luxury feature.
Agreed. IMHO if it’s not dependable, it doesn’t deserve to be called luxurious. Who has time to worry about breakdowns, trips to the shop, loaners etc?
08-13 MDX. Simply the best looking crossover ever made by mankind
BhullEngg1 I agree 100%, in fact I just bought a 2013 vs a brand new one!
@@JimBic72 I am looking to buy one myself. Any suggestions?
Hope this helps.
agree
I have the 08 and I'm obsessed with it!
My "03" MDX has 230000 trouble free miles and still going strong.
I have a 2001 mdx
I bought a brand new 06 MDX and put 175,000 trouble free miles. Only repair was an Alternator and some weird water intrusion under the front floor mats. Reliable absolutely!
C P I have those same water intrusions! ...haven’t gotten to it yet though
My 2002 BMW X5 3.0i has 226,000 miles and still going strong the engine is probably the best part about it, I hate the suspension issues but do the work myself so I shouldn’t be complaining because I don’t pay dealer
What is your mpg on the highway?
My 2007 MDX currently has 301,000 miles and it has hands down been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Only replaced tires and a battery. Did timing belt and water pump replacement at 300,000 for preventative maintenance. That’s all.
Wow..I hope my just purchased 2007 MDX keeps its shape as well
is an economy car?
You really did your first timing belt replacement at 300k miles ??? Had it ever been done before then?
That's great, I've been looking for a 2012- 2013 MDX...too many recalls on the newer models. The newer models are made in Alabama, older models were made in Canada.
The 2009 Acura MDX had the best reliablity record of 'em all.
I ain't complaining about my 2007 MDX Tech -- 'cause it was ** FREE **, and I'm loving it !!
A moped is better than a BMW
🤣
I've owned cars from every make and I'm done trying to impress others. The older I get the more I gravitate towards Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus. Those and some 911's have been the only trouble free cars I've owned.
NuclearGrizzly I can say the same for Ford! Mercury grand Marquis, LINCOLN Town cars, Crown Victoria's , Fusion, Mustang, F150 All
Extremely reliable vehicles! If you buy AMERICAN ... Ford is the way to go! Scotty would agree!
Should check out subaru cars
Me too! Grand Cherokee was a nightmare with service and recalls. 4 sets of brakes in first 10k. Honda Acura is brakes tires and oil!
I got a bmw x5 everything is great.. The only problem is that im lying.. 😂
🤣
Haha
🤣🤣🤣
Lol
Lol
Solid car!
I have a 2007 MDX that looks brand spanking new. I need to show it off. It’s so pretty.
That mdx is braking in. My 2008 mdx has 330,000 miles i love Acura.
Currently have a 06 with 188k miles. Never had a major issue, great SUV
Jonatan Estrada I have a 2007 Nissan Murano with 184,000 miles
@@NFLYoungBoy223 Im the original owner of a 1908 model t daily driver 14,000 original miles. Original tank of gas - ice cold a/c, still has new car smell.
Alan damn you the same age as my house
Loving it as well, however the big V6 that it has sucks oil, like a quart every 1,000 miles
All the bmw and Mercedes fans (not owners) dislike.
YES omg go their IG pages millions of followers only like 1% own them
...and anyone who thinks all modern cars are fat and ugly, which they are of course since the 1990s.
He's telling the truth, like it or not

@Heywood Jablowme yep, its in public all the time anyway.
This is hilarious to find this videos it feels so specific to me because I literally just spent all day trading my 2005 BMW X5 for a 2009 Acura MDX
Can’t agree more the MDX, RDX is a great used car if you can find one with low miles 👍🏻
It's a great car even with 100k miles, as long as you have verified service history
I love my TL with the 3.7 SHAWD. :)
To bad their ugly.
What's low miles for you?
How about
165k for $6500 ?
got an acura rdx 2008 and it save my life when in the snow storm I come in a droping curve too fast for braking , I have just turn a little bit more the steering wheel, and the car understand perfectly what to do by slow down the front interior wheel and make me turn like a dream in this nightmare
Just bought a 2012 with 127k miles. It’s solid, and It drives so good. Engine is still responsive, transmission and suspension are smooth. No way does it feel like it has 127k miles on it.
Can’t wait for the MDX Type S!
There is one available it's the 2020 mdx a spec edition, around 60k.
Yes they are great. I have a 2011 Acura MDX black on black with advance package. Just turned over 100k miles and runs like brand new.
Was trying to get a X5, but I finally got a MDX! It’s so nice 👍
An X5….An MDX…
Not “a” X5 or “a” MDX. Read it out aloud and you’ll understand why. 👍🏻
Love The MDX currently have 2012 TL and 2012 MDX. TL has 185,000 on it and MDX have 210,000 on it no issue what’s so ever.
Not my mdx.
I have an MDX! It’s a 2004. It has 188,000 miles. It has its issues but engine and transmission are strong. Love my Acura.
Tips?
Acura MDX is absolutely the best luxury SUV in the market. It shits all over the German competition and beats the Lexus too.
Thanks. I will talk to my mechanic about this as I just bought one
Don’t be afraid to use non OEM fluid.
you forgot to mention to change your headlight fluid every 3 thousand miles or it can get cloudy.
My 08 X5 V8 always put a smile on my face.
Alexander Volta ...until you see the multiple repair Bill.
BMW:
hose $30
fan belt $25
trans fluid $60
XB:
Trans filter $20
Transfluid $20
air filter $10
engine oil $20
Spark plugs $10
The only way a bmw will make it to 100k miles, the driver has to empty out his entire savings account🤣🤣🤣bmw buy more wrenches 🔧
Lol
all the bimmers my family has owned (5 of them) have all surpassed 100,000 with ease. Maybe we are just lucky idk.
Anchovy depends. If they are older models, than they will last. I drive a 98 e39 with 170,000 miles. Runs like a clock new ones will last only 70,000-100,000 miles at most in my opinion
Mcgyver B If it’s an older BMW, it’ll last. They used to be built like clocks. New ones are just cheap plastics with decent engines.
Yeah I guess so the newest one we own is a 2013 i3 but we mainly owned pre 2010 models
Here it is 2021 and I just bought a 2012 acura mdx with 134,000 and love it. Hope to have many more miles in it.
I agree. I have an 07 and still reliable after 239000 miles
I cannot believe that car is 11 year old car.
Jason J. Nobody cares
Ur Mom his mechanic cares, who know how much money he made fixing that thing

@Organic Iverson solid ride. Great AWD. Amazing with snow tires. Only gripe is about an average of 17mpg
Whoa, mine is at 146k. Have you had to change the transmission?
I own a 08 and it’s my pride and joy just finished cleaning the rims
I test drove one when it came out whenever and when I could never afford one. I loved it so much. It was so smooth. That was all I could think of it.
After the engine rebuild around 2 yrs later it continues to suck oil, think it’s a piston thing
@@nickcoats5227 that's lame. Try 5w-30 oil as that's what they run in Japan. I'm going to try it on my next oil change to see if it helps with the issue.
They used lighter smaller piston rings @MinhBui-ni1by
I have a 11 Acura TL with a 6MT. It is a blast to drive!
I have a 2011 MDX Advanced Entertainment and a 2012 BMW X5 35i. Overall, definitely leaning towards the MDX. Third I've owned! Love it!
Is this review still accurate? I found a private seller with a 2016 mdx for 14000 and 136750. I know this is an older post.
That Acura MDX is awesome and 1 of the best! If you can just get pass the fact that they use a timing belt and not chain then you will fall in love with it! And by the way.....the AWD version is even more fun to drive but more expensive! 😉👍🏆
Yes that chain is much better and easier to fix than replacing the timing belt..
2011 Tundra used heavily for towing, not a single issue 120k miles running like it was driven off the lot!!!
Just gave my 08 to my son with 140k miles. Great SUV.
My 2006 MDX with 106K miles still drives and runs excellent..I added led lights and change the oil every 4000 miles. Speaking from experience, the mdx perforated leather seats dry out and deteriorate quickly in warmer climates... but the overall vehicle quality is exceptional!
I love my MDX 2008 all inside and out black with black leather seats, black tires rims. I love it
Great car everybody says they have bad transmission but I see them all the time with 200k plus so many features.
I miss my acura mdx
Saul Arias I wouldn’t say they are bad just weaker transmission but if you take care of it they will last a long time 👍🏻
Biggest problem is people not using the right fluid or not changing it at all.
@@enriqueortiz5440 what is the right fluid??

I have a 2007 MDX and the power, handling and performance is great. They are so reliable. I’m currently at 220,000 miles
I'm a big fan of the Honda J engine, it is the sweet spot between a generator/marine/industrial engine and a high performance/luxury/economy engine.
It just has a lot of character and grit while still being able to feel really good and I like that a lot about it.
These j series engines are amazing.
Nice Corolla wagon in the background
I have the same car 2011. I have over 260,000 miles on it. Had it 10 years
My first vehicle, I love it. I was originally going to get a little lemon sedan and I was talked up to the MDX. I've put a lot of money in it but it's got 200K plus and very strong still. I love racing games and go karts, this car is plenty sporty enough for me as a first whip.
I love my MDX ❤
We bought one of these new when I was 3, so I basically grew up with it. It is much better than many cars made much after it, especially considering that ours also has a navigation screen that takes phone calls
But the third row isn’t very good. As the child, I’ve always been the one sitting in it, but now being 5’10 it’s not comfy

That's my Acura story.
Replaced my timing belt on my 07 mdx at 100k, and it looked like it could’ve gone another 50k miles. Same with the water pump, still looked so good when I replaced both.
Same here but didn't want to risk it.
Lol. We just purchased a 2008 MDX Elite with 195,000 kms. Love it.
Premium is only REQUIRED when towing and aggressive driving. Otherwise its RECOMMENDED.
I used to make headlights for 2017 and 2018 Acura MDX
I have a 2014 Acura MDX and it’s amazing, the SH-AWD is amazing, and the interior is incredibly clean. No problems at all, only had to change the belt and am going to have to change a joint up front on the tire. Reasonable prices from Acura and If the work is long they let you borrow a more modern Acura! Got to test out the A-spec for two days last time I left my Acura for the belt.
Timing belt
Whoever disliked probably owns a German vehicle.... I think that's probably be pissed that this MDX will outlive their X5 you can pick the latest model, it will break before this goes
Big whoop! I have a 2008 MDX with 192k. FYI I had a 2002 first gen MDX with 232k miles but, the transmission went. All do

11 years, and half my life of dreaming, it is even better that I could ever imagine!
(Maximus).
A computer virus from a 2006 navigation system(Trojan horse)
very very unfortunately killed all of the computing units! It killed Maximus.

Brilliant video and really nice suv. Sadly we don't get the Acura in the UK.
You're not missing much. They are highly expensive compared to their Honda counterparts. Plus none of them are made in Japan. You have to go back to 2004 to find one Japanese Domestic Model from Acura.
I actually own 2003 mdx 250000 miles still running strong

You mean 250,000?
Any tips for first gen. Someone posted about adding a extra external trans cooler
Just bought my mdx 06 a few weeks ago in love!!
Update I'm going to upgrade to the technology package in the 07
Love this segment!!!! Thanks for sharing😁! Those Acura suv are nice. Still pricey used but worth it.
The original Denso Radiator has a design flaw and causes the transmission fluid to mix with the coolant and contaminates both systems. It can be fixed by flushing the coolant with water and the transmission with transmission fluid to eliminate the coolant. Changing the radiator early is good preventive maintenance.
Have an RDX Turbo. No issues other than replacing the alternator. Great vehicle.
The Acura MDX is like a better Honda Pilot
Shuffle3956 🤘
Serious question I’m debating between the two. 2005. Is the Acura more expensive with repair cost? Like changing the brakes and routine type stuff?
acura wont break as much BMW
Wow I like the styling of this mdx
RDX has the 2.0T and a 10 speed automatic. Like a 5.8-6.4 second 0-60 (2019)
Remember that this is just a fancy Honda Pilot with luxury features.
Streamsville Speedway fancy honda pilot actually
A CR-V can’t you notice the size difference 😂 wrong about that bud. In 2020 it will be on its own platform same as the 2019 RDX
It may be a Pilot based model, but it had more power, a much higher quality interior, better seats, better handling, better sound system, etc. There is A LOT that sets the two apart.
