i've always wondered why he deleted his twitter. This video really helped me to understand him a bit more
I can explain, since im friend of her too.. you can dm me for it @Official.minsoo
@@sgfoundationprojectpeace1088 Legit? What social media can you dm on? How are you a friend of hers if that link is korean?
@@shinjimirou928 Its a lie, what do you think?
Man just dont be on twitter its not healthy for your mind
It's always bittersweet to see such big names and personalities leave the Vocaloid scene. On the one hand I feel happy for them cause they've found a new brighter and more successful path, on the other hand it's so sad cause Vocaloid is losing such wonderful and talented artists when it's in dire need of them.
Vocaloid is simply training music producers to become professionals.
There are many people who left to become independent artists or create their own band. It's great for them and bittersweet for us
Say it and Hitchcock are my favorite songs of the group. I usually find myself with teary eyes at the end of each song....
These two are also my favorite song from Yorushika
Nautillus and parade 😢
@@rega9457 same
Also, I like the animations
Me too
Many of Yorushika's songs are easily relatable almost to every one of us. As it portrays the happiness, sadness, love, uncertainty, and the basic human mind it is so easy to get drawn in it as this happens to everyone. I was really curious of the people behind Yorushika, especially the one that writes the song. I was surprised as to how Yorushika's song can almost read my whole life story, it was so correct for every lyrics. I guess it just truly depends on how we perceive things to be on our own. But now that I know that N-buna wants to just share his music as an art then i'll respect that and be happy. Thank you for sharing
Ya, it makes me wonder if young adults have "angst" or if they just haven't shut them selves off emotionally yet like so many adults have. Personally at 30 I'm realizing I need to stop ignoring my emotions and embrace them. Is it melodramatic to care about these little things... ... or is it psychopathic to not?
Pretty sure nbuna write all yorushika songs and suis the voice of group
holy crap.
I've been a huge fan of yorushika's music for a while and I never knew that n-buna was the man writing it.
oh my gosh.
This gives me so much more appreciation for him and how he's grown as an artist.
I'm so glad this video helped me appreciate both his old and new stuff and better understand him as an artist. Thanks!
Sproot Overalls it’s kind of bizarre that you weren’t aware that n-buna wrote the songs, the official Yorushika channel even is called “Yorushika/N-buna Official” or something though it’s nice to see that the yorushika community is growing
You would understand it sooner if you are vocaloid fans
While I was aware of the existence of N-buna, I didn't know about his role with the collaboration/group.
Also, write first, melody later? Yep, definitely sounds like a poet/writer for me.
blind much
i thought n-buna renamed themself to yorushika 🤦🏾♀️
I would love to see video from you about Senbonzakura phenomenon. Because MY GOD. This song was HUGE. Like really. There wasn't single Vocaloid Ranking that didn't have Senbonzakura in it. FOR. YEARS. It was crazy time for sure. I really like your content (even though sometimes your name pronunciations can be painful xD), keep it up!
Yeah bare with me lol. That's a wonderful idea though I'm going to write that down
Lmao the so-dubbed immortal song cause it would never get off the weekly rankings
@@ubnubmaster i got into vocaloid due to that song
@@ubnubmaster write it down! write it down!
it was so weird!!! like, one time we were just bopping, and then this video comes in with all of that and it's just??? i didn't initially like it, but the amount of derivative works from it meant that it became a song enjoyable, in some form or another, by everyone. i liked learning the dance, with the big swingy arms. unfortunately, it feels as though it also led to more popular songs being the ones with big budgets and pretty pvs. a lot of early vocaloid had fanart or boxart for the video, with subtitled lyrics to make up for the muffled phonetics, or just to make the kanji and puns more evident, and, if they had a full pv, it was usually done by a dedicated fan or the songwriter
But at the same time, from my perspective, it is hard to detach an artist from his work. When I discovered Yorushika, what struck me was the emotion from the songs. It was coming from the lyrics, melody and voice of the artists. I always thought to myself : You cannot share that much emotion and give it to other people, if you never experienced or understood it in the first the place. And that's why I always think about the people behind the work, even if its a story involving fictional characters. It's like, when you listen and watch their music, we're sharing something between us.
So when he said " I want you to see my work in a way that does not involve the existence of "me" " , I don't really know how... (not really sure if I'm being clear ^^)
Same. The reason I like their music is because even though i dont understand japanese, I can still understand the message of the song
Could you do a video on mafumafu!? His story is inspirational and is one of the very rare cases of a successful career starting on Niconico.
There's also PinocchioP (Apple Dot Com), and Eve (Dramaturgy), and a few others.
aah yes! i love mafumafu's music and his story ☺️✨💕
Yes! I’d love to hear about utaite.
I might be wrong but isn't yonezu kenshi also started his career from niconico?
@@dika9758 he was also a vocaloid artist aswell called hachi
I really like Yorushika art/mv, it look simple & nice
I didn't expect to see you here outside of subbed vtuber clips, small world huh
@@Orisu179 me too, lol
but vtubers and vocaloids is somewhat connected, and i found this channel from recommendations, so maybe it's just the youtube algorithms creating a bubble world again
Simple yet impactful is what I would say
@@Orisu179 I'm very very sorry for not responding to your guys messages, UA-cam didn't sent me the notifications for it & I literally forgotten about my own comments
@Rando Random ah yes that's me lol
Hey guys,
When I was doing research for the N-buna video I had so much leftover information about Yorushika that I couldn't help but make one more video about him. Hope you enjoy, next time we'll be moving on to someone new I promise!
Also Happy Mother's Day!
Please! Make it!
I’m here to thank you for your work!
Words are not enough to express my gratitude for your videos and the felling of wholesomeness it gave me.
Thank you!!
*subscribed* Looking forward to it. ^^
Who does those dreamy animation for Yorushika? N-buna?
Yess more yorushika videos would be nice
anyway i'm a bit too tired to post a giant essay but i did want to say that this series has been absolutely beautiful and i never thought this way about n-buna and yorushika as a whole. say it is definitely my favorite track of theirs and suis is a phenomenal singer. and thanks for the translations, my god, i've been looking everywhere.
Sure thing thanks for the support egglet
I think why so many relate to his song is simply because n buna really understands himself so well that his songs just come out and reproduce that "feeling" and many of the teenagers get that "feeling" he was pouring into his song.
Yorushika is the definition of if you're happy you love the music, if you're sad you understand the lyrics. I appreciate the duo talent and helped me through bad times and also the good
Hey, just stopped by to say thanks so much for the videos you make. I've been in the Vocaloid community for coming up to a decade now and I honestly had no idea about 99% of the stuff you talk about in your videos. You've really helped me reconnect and find an interest in the community again, even after all this time! You're the best!
Sure thing Aimee thanks for the support. People like you are the reason I keep doing it
same here my dude. this channel has reawakened my interest in Vocaloid and I'm really glad for being a fan this long lol
After finally watching this video, Thoughtcrime brings a whole new meaning to the table. Mostly pointing to n-buna. Great video dude and I do agree about the "pandering" part by the end. He doesn't totally need to interact with us. Him simply doing his own thing for the sake of art and us consuming it in our own pace makes the "interaction" between far more genuine and far more tight than as you said "7 co-writers being paid millions" And now I love n-buna and suis even more haha.
I know this video is a bit older but it really amazes me how the Plagarism album plays into this. N-Buna and Suis revealing their faces in two separate music videos, the lyrics addressing the anxieties N-Buna feels towards his music even more head on than “Why I Gave Up on Music” talking about how he feels his work is simply derivative, but that he didn’t get into music for money or fame but to make something beautiful. I think this album really helps tell a new story about his work that gives so much more context to Elma. The self awareness and self inclusion he’s shied away from is brought to the forefront in a new way (he even does some backing vocals of his own in Plagiarism, echoing the words Suis sings). In Thoughtcrime he talks about his feelings towards music, why his lyrics seem to express the deep feelings we all wish we could express and how it was just a way for him to say the things he couldn’t say in real life good and bad. It’s a really mature album (though I think all of his work with Yorushika has been pretty mature) but steps away from the usual lyircs about shortcomings interpersonally and instead focused on the things he feels he himself falls short on. It’s really interesting to listen to the lyrics and what he wants to express with the context given by this video essays look at his works beforehand.
Sorry but n-buna and suis havent revealed their faces yet, the one in plagiarism MV and eat the wind are just actors
I feel like he's succeeded in trying to do just that. When you listen to his music, you focus on the meaning behind it, the music itself, instead of the artist singing it. I feel like there's very few artists who do this (unsurprisingly, most from Japan). We've grown to idolize people who make the music, instead of actually appreciating the music itself. Sure, the artist deserves praise, but to put it in an easily understandable manner, wouldn't you get at least irritated if you make something and they always praise you, or even your skills, instead of the work you just pured your heart and soul into? It's nice being complimented for who you are, but it's much nicer to have something you worked on be complimented. At least that's what I believe.
N-buna seems to approach his musical career very similarly to Hiromu Akita. Just to a lesser extent.
I like that approach alot, of leaving the music speak for themselves rather than appearing on every talk show under the sun like most famous musicians do.
Thank you so much for crediting my translation! I was wondering where the influx of anons on the doc came from. I've actually been following you for awhile now and I love your videos, so it's, like, extra flattering to see my translation credited like this. I'm glad people are using it to understand the story more. For the TL, I always looked up the references if I caught them, and I'm very happy people are just as invested as I was. I also found the Henry Darger one to be particularly relevant to the themes of the story (particularly sad in the context of the entry where it's mentioned), and I really like the synthesis that you make btwn Amy and n-buna's relationship with his audience/art. Cool video! (I mean, I always enjoy your video essays, but n-buna is special to me (as you might guess :P) so it feels particularly cool)
Hi. Thanks so much for the translation. Love you ❤
Amazing video, I'd love to see a video about Reol and her change from a vocaloid lyricist to one of the most famous singers in japan, or a video about transitioning from vocaloid to singing or doing both
PLEASE i would die for reol
N-buna is exactly the kind of creator i love
this is one of your best videos so far imo, it gave me a unique perspective not just on this artist but on music in general. keep it up my dude.
I fully agree thank you my dude
I didn't really know why I liked them at first, I just did, and thanks to this video, I have a deeper understanding of why I like them so much. Their genuine approach to creating music is so real and passionate, and well, I just have the same philosophy with n-buna when it gets to assessing the work one makes, so that made me like them more. Hoping for more from them both :>
Just found this channel, I've just been experiencing vocaloid through surfing youtube and finding songs for so long now, its such a nice feeling going through the history of all these faces that I just found popped up in my feed over the years. So happy to see all these organized thoughts that explain things that i've only been able to piece together through random people in youtube comments
I also love how he completely devotes himself to his passion. I really appreciate that he releases these masterpieces into the world. I've lost interest in quite a few artists after they became popular simply because they started to make music which would have the least chance of failure, which means that it has to be as generic as possible. If the artist choses this route then I'll respect their choice, but I won't listen to their new music. Therefore I really appreciate the way N-buna keeps things the way they are.
Its really interesting to see how n-buna views Henry.I've known about Henry Darger for some time but you would never imagine seeing him pop up in a discussion here
Great vid dude ^^
love the video man, thanks a lot
Everyone talking about say it n Hitcok ...
But i love Yoake no hotaru most ... especialy when Nbuna Sing by himself ... the vocal n music hit me so hard ... i always listen that song for healing ...
But now quality of Yorushika is more good like " Eat the Wind " that such a BOP ...
I love your videos, they are so professional and complete I love them
thank you for making this video. Yorushika need to be more known. his work and arrangement is honest and filled with emotion. story telling written with genuine passion in a very impactful way. its not about good or bad, not about cool or catchy. it is pure beautiful piece of work. cant really compare it with most songs nowadays.
Always appreciate your videos.
I’ve always been a big fan of Yorushika, but I never realized there was such a big story behind everything. Thank you for making this, it’s incredibly well made and your voice is very nice to listen to!
👏 yet again you suprise me with another great video! Good job on this one!
Epic vid!
I never thought I'd need content like this. Looking forward to your next videos!
That was so damn fascinating and very well researched. I adore N-buna but didn't know anything about their background and influences. The story of Henry Darger and how it ties to N-buna was especially neat.
Thanks for the great video!
Thank you for your videos, they're not only explaining the case but also very educating in some ways !! Again, thank you for sharing
this was really a truly beautiful commentary in itself. like the video was funny towards the beginning but slowly shifted to something more deep and resounding which wow,,, that's honestly amazing. i've loved n-buna and yorushika's work for a really long time and this helped me to understand a lot more about his/their music and him/them. thank u so much for this,, I'm gonna go listen to all their albums again
I love how kind you explain stuff... I hope to hear more from you 🥰
Thank you so much for doing these! Please, do more, great job
Really good video !
I bingewatched your videos today after watching the wowaka one and i absolutely love the research and dedication you put into these videos!! Im curious if youve considered doing an essay on producers like maretu and generally producers who make stuff like that cuz id like to see your perspective on them, but either way im excited for your next video!!
I just want to say...thank you for making content like this.
When I first discovered Yorushika, I had no context or background to help me understand what sort of impact they had on the world: all I got, when I first heard The Clouds and the Ghost and Just a Sunny Day for You for the first time was just...some special music that I had a hard time finding anywhere else. A set of gentle yet powerful music where you find yourself immersed in completely. Whether you're wandering in your imagination or introspectively thinking about what these songs means to you, what these songs do to you...it was hard to put into words just exactly what made Yorushika's music so special, simply beyond just thinking 'I like it'. But you've helped me come up with a few ideas.
Thank you for this. I'm sure it's been said a lot but Yorushika's work personally means a lot and I love the feelings that arise when I listen to their music.
I've been binge watching your video-essays and I absolutely love them. The way you describe their music and backgrounds of the creators is just so pleasant to hear about !! One of my new favourite channels
Great video! I never knew his story so I really appreciate your effort in making this. Thank you 😊
This was amazing! I learned so much about Yorushika. Your channel is awesome! I'm really looking forward to watching more videos :)
I really love your videos, and, it really makes me want to learn more about all the world around Vocaloid, so a big thanks for your work !
i am honestly so glad to have discovered your channel. binged all your videos and every single one of them was very well-written and immersive and it gave me a more in-depth perspective to not only the vocaloid but as well as the artists who make these music. it’s so rare to find vocaloid-based video essays and i’ll be sure to watch your next upload. keep up the great work 🙏🏻♥️
as an artist and storyteller, i have been through a similar emotions as well regarding my own works. i enjoy making and sharing my works, my personal projects that could be considered loose diary entries at this point, but i really don't want to make it something famous and instead just hope those that view it can enjoy it and even fit themselves into it. and those that criticize it will criticize it "as is" and their interruptions.
n-buna has really become one of my most favourite Japanese music artists at this point. thank you for making this video, ive learned many things i didnt know and even comforted to know my perspective of what i want with my work is shared with someone who has inspired me so much through their music.
I never knew there were people doing UA-cam essays on vocaloid! This is the best day ever! Thank you so much for making content!
this made me have more respect and made me much more enjoy the music. thank you for the informative video about n-buna!
you’re talented! awesome video!
keep up the good work, love it
Elma's diary was really amazing. thank you for sharing, never knew they released a diary in the limited edition of the album
Thank you for these videos you put out. i feel like i understand N-buna a bit more after watching this and also appreciate their works even more
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO, I absolutely love this composer and how he infuse story in his songs
I hope you make more videos like this and lesser known vocaloid composers like Kaoling and such
Thank you so much for the video, your video made me appreciate n-buna and yorushika’s songs so much more now.
Really thanks for this 😄🙇🥰
soo that explains why I feel like I am connected to them in a sense. He may have said to separate his identity from his work but I find it easier to understand an artist from their work. In any case, their work is absolutely soulful.
Ahhhh another n-buna video~ There were many great videos that was in my feed today, and this video was the cherry on top! ^^
Love the research that goes into your videos, I love n-buna and Yorushika but I don't understand Japanese, so thanks for taking the time to analyze Vocaloid songs/producers. I hope you gain more subscribers, can't wait to see the next video!!!
great video
Like WOW! top quality dude. Thanks for the research and your insight.
Glad the English fanbase makes videos like this. I hope your channel grows. Japanese music as a whole needs more attention. If you like Yorushika, please check out SHISHAMO, yonige, and hump back. My top 3 favorite bands, I own their CDs and I always buy their fan merchandise online! I especially love SHISHAMO, I've been a fan for a long while and have only found one other fan in the U.S. You can get as invested in them as you can with Yorushika. But I love the back story you present here. Thanks for the video!
Such a fascinating video. You're doing so much for the vocaloid community 😭✊🏻💕
I would love to see a video on orangestar, I love just how beautiful and summer-ish his songs are, a sort of fleeting and nostalgic feeling. He just recently came back from a 2 year mormon missionary mission with a new song. Great work on your channel, I hope to see many more new videos to come.
Finally UA-cam recommends me something really really good. Great video, hope to see more!
Really nice video that gives a lot of insight that I even had no idea about being a fan of n-buna since his vocaloid days. Can say that I do miss him on the vocaloid scene, but its nice to see having Yorushika made him even more well known as an artist. It's been a while since I was heavily invested in vocaloid but will definitely check out your other videos on the topic!
ive been looking for a channel like this for a long time
Oh wow, I never knew Yorushika was telling a story with those songs... Now I really gotta investigate haha
On another note though, do you think you can talk about Siinamota/Powapowa-p? I don't know much of how he's affected the vocaloid community, but I do know that his music has a special place for me, especially Astronauts. Thank you for your channel though! It's a lot of fun to listen to.
this!
The story stretches from album to album
Jun Maeda’s album with Nagi Yanagi too tells a story. More like a series of story in a story book
i honestly felt that siina wrote his story from the first song he wrote until red pen, the lyrics describe his growth and how he slowly lost himself until the unfortunate end, there were some upbeat songs, he did collabs etc but still end up lost... rip powa2P/siinamota
Aqua Venus his first song is named "ohayou" (good morning) which probably symbolizes the beginning of his artistic journey? i didnt look into the lyrics but it was the first thing i thought of when i listened to this song for the 1st time lol
just found out your channel because of these n-buna, i love the infos you've given in them, i always thought n-buna's older song sounds more idealistic and was wondering if the rise of yorushika's fame had a part in it. also the Wowaka one is also a really good one, he's hands down my favorite vocaloid producer and it's really sad that we all lost him.
looking forward to the producers videos, i'd say the ones that made a song series will make a good video, like Honeyworks, or mikito-P, or the one i'm personally veru interested in, kemu. keep up the great job!
Thank you so much for this beautiful video. I've always felt a really strong connection to Yorushika's music as a musician, and this seriously inspired me, and gave me even more justification for my love for the two artists.
nice video as always!
After I watched your Vocaloid videos I subscribed, your videos are great
I just randomly stumbled across your channel because of your melt video, and i just wanna say thanks. I'm not sure why, but listening to the stories and history of various parts of the vocaloid community made me tear up. It really made me think about how there's just so much heart in all of it! So many artists that used vocaloid as an opportunity to express themselves musically in a way they just couldn't without it. It's why i feel that vocaloid will, in a way, never really die, because these musicians will inspire others to make music, and miku will always be there lending a hand to those that want to put their feeling into a song.
I would like to see you talk about harumaki too. I found you just now in fact and greatly enjoyed the videos.
Thank you for this. It really helped me understand the motivation behind all these songs, especially 'That's Why I Gave Up On Music'
I'm so happy I found your channel! I've been in the Vocaloid community for a couple of years now and I'm finding out all this stuff I didn't know about some of my favorite producers and artists through your videos. I would love to see your take on Western producers that make songs in English (like Circus and Crusher)! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for this video, I was really trying to find information about Yorushika since I started listening to them and was never able to find.
This was a really good video!
Dunno how I got here but I'm definitely glad to accidentally find this channel. As a person who also loves vocaloid, I really find a lot of your videos actually interesting to watch and listen to. Looking forward to more of your stuff here :D
Honestly i love seeing your videos about difrent vocaliod artist and waiting to see if my favorit artist would be here. Your voice is so relaxing.
Thank you, Man. I like your discussions.
This was a great video. I'm just a casual listener for yorushika so I'm not familiar of most works mentioned here but the way you constructed this video made them seem like precious gems, which I think music which are created in a pure way, truly are.
is there a lot of information on pinocchio-p? for the last few years, hes been one of the most consistently high quality producers, though hes not the very popular compared to deco or n-buna. hes my personal favorite producer, just behind wowaka. id like to see a video about him ^^;
One of these days don't worry
I was waiting content like this for so long
You're a combination of my favorite channels, your way to describe feels similar to "psych of play" and your themes are centered on Japanese music. I love your channel! the pacing of your vids and your voice are calming and interesting, you're my favorite channel.
I have recently found your channel and I absolutely LOVE your videos!
I'm so glad you covered this! I never knew who was who or what was what with them. How you cleared this up was fantastic!
really love all your videos.. been vocaloid fans since 09.. its kinda died a lil bit.. but damn.. your video really bring me back to my teenage days listening all day to only voca song and i cant even give my phone to others if they ask me to play my song since it just full of voca song and j-song lol..
thanks for all the breakdown on vocaloid and the most important.. the Vocalo-P themselves..
really glad that i found your channel.. all the best man.. keep it up since i do think youre are the only channel who do this really in-depth break down on vocaloid topic.. bless you
I'm a new fan to both artist and damn, this video change my perspective
nice vid bro
Since i just discovered Yorushika I’m so thankful to you for making so informative video
I'm glad i stumbled upon your channel.
This video essay was really good!! it’d be cool if you made more of these videos on non vocaloid related music
Wow, this video gives an interesting insight that i never knew before.
Waw man, this video give me chills like 7 times, what the heck?!
I finally understand why their songs shookt me even if I don't understand much japanese. Thanks a lot bro. Great help for a newbie fan like me. ❤
Thank you sooooooooooo much for this video. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I already was so in love with Yorushika ever since i first heard one of their songs, but this video just deepen even more my profound love for N-Buna and Suis. Humble, unique, and pure creative passion. They are definitely my all-time favorite japanese band.♡♡♡
Just finished binge watching all your videos, you raised to the top of being one of my favorite youtubers for bringing topics ive never really seen other people bring up this well informed. Hope we get to see more, if youre open to requests id like to hear about my fave producer Cosmo-P
Amazing video essay. Very insightful analysis for the artist. As someone who doesn't understand the lyrics at all but enjoys the musicality of it, this was very interesting
I am binge watching your content and absolutely loving it!! You put in a great amount of research and show so much passion for these creators. Thank you for making such wonderful content.
I feel like you'd find Maretu interesting? Particularly his Coin Locker Baby album.
