- Need More storage for your paintings? Then this is the video for you! I was tired of having paintings scattered around my studio (not the best way for people to check out your work when they come for a studio visit!) so I convinced my husband to help me build this storage unit. It holds all the sizes I typically work in and let me tell you - it made my studio look much more professional! You should totally build one for yourself if you have the room!

Omg the fact that you left the argument in the video is the greatest and most validating thing I’ve seen in forever! The storage unit is amazing and I’m stoked to find this as my husband is about to build me one 💜
hahaha you know, I had to keep it real out here 😜
Ahhhh, that's awesome! Honestly, it is such a game changer not having to stack your paintings on top of each other against the wall - you'll love it!
Oh my god I loved that :D so freaking relatable, pregnant or not !@@nikkolewith2ks
You're too funny, such an adorable couple. Loving that you work together.
Awww, thank you! We love building/ doing reno's together! This time around it was a little more challenging with me being pregnant haha

Well done Phil and Nikkole team!
Thank you Marie!!
I might actually attempt this. Thanks!
Hey Mike, no problem! You totally should - it's a game changer!
Yay! Another awesome video KK! Congrats again on the news! 💖
Gee Em thanks so much1 Glad you enjoyed the video :)!!
Nikkole and Phil, nice job on the storage unit. I see that it was a while ago but it is the first one I've seen since the moving in one so I subscribed again.
Thanks so much - it was fun project!
IS THIS ROSS DUFF?
Omgsh long time no see! (Hopefully this is you or else I will look crazy haha)
Really fantastic and helpful! Thanks so much. Just one question. How did you join the 2x3s for the main structure /frame at the start? Was that also with metal corner bracket/brace thingies? I was pausing the video trying to figure it out!
Still extremly helpfull! You are a gift to humanity, thank you! Also the intro really cheered me up 😂😂
oh ghee don't make me blush! 😊
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and so happy I could bring some cheer to your day!
Can't wait for the dance parties to commence :P
gurllll, you know we be dancin' the night away
Wow you two!! That’s quite the storage system. Almost as big as a tiny house 🤣😂 came out great. Congrats on the bay-bay. 👍
Thank you!! Haha, you know what - never thought about it but if times get tough we could totally convert it into a tiny home 😜
Your cool.😁💜
hahah thank you Frankie! I try 😜
Good job, but my studio isn’t that large.
Ahhhh, thank you!
Ya this is a monster of a canvas storage unit - you would definitely need a good amount of a space unfortunately
I would be making 1mx1m one it can storage at least 10 paintings too!
Fun video. Nicely done. I built custom homes on LAs Westside for 25 years (are you a ucla grad??) and I found your video easy to follow and enjoyable. I hope everything worked out with your baby. Daniel
Hello! Sorry for the super late reply 😟!
Nope, I live in Canada and never attended university... just like doing little D.I.Y project with my husband :).
So glad you enjoyed the video!
@@nikkolewith2ks late is better than never
Do you remember how much it ended up costing you? And will it fit through a doorway if needed? Great job!
Hi!
It was quite the investment but I knew it would work wonders in my studio so it was well worth the investment! It was around $800 CAD (this was at a time when wood was an outrageous price - I had to do it before I was more pregnant haha).
Unfortunately, it will not fit through the door - although, you could always build one that could! I just typically work pretty large.
I wanna see how misshaped and bowed all of that wood is now
It's not :)
@@nikkolewith2ksYou can see that a lot of the wood is bowed before it was put together. In the introductions, behind your husband, the wood is bowed, but if was still a cool video 😂
Need a new blade for the circular saw!
hahaha probably - as you can tell, we aren't the most proficient builders 😉lol.
We borrowed this from our old neighbor.. I guess he hasn't used it in years!
